Crest Bakery

I had not found a bakery that had donuts as good as my hometown until I came to Crest. They have amazing cream sticks and their famous cronuts (donuts out of croissant dough) are the best thing I have ever tasted! Great local family business with plenty of room to sit and enjoy your purchase. They have a lot of other things too.
They take cards, but a min of 6 $ which is about a half dozen. This place is a must try in Akron! Get there early for cronuts, they often run out!

This place was a favorite of mine, I used to go here all the time with my grandmother and get the dinosaur cookies. Everything is still delicious, great pastries, dinosaur cookies (yum) etc. However, my mother placed an order two weeks ago for two dozen breakfast pastries, half cups, half flats, no pineapple or cherry, heavy on the peanut butter and pecan. These were the words we said to the kindly, old lady taking our order. When I picked up the order this morning, there were 4 rolls, the rest of the order were flat danishes, about half of the danishes are either pineapple or cherry, and there are absolutely no peanut butter or pecan rolls at all. Oddly enough, this upset my mother quite a bit, since this is her absolute favorite bakery from her childhood and the buns are for a breakfast for my grandmother, who grew up in the north Hill area and also fondly remembers Crest bakery from her early life. The quality is amazing, and there’s nothing like the nostalgic scent of a freshly baked bear claw, and eating all of your dinosaur cookie, saving the m&m eyeball for last, but there is also a lot to be said for listening to your customers and making sure they get what they want.
We did call back, and they are giving us four of each of the peanut butter and pecan rolls tomorrow morning. But the woman on the phone sounded more exasperated with us than anything else. Which is not the emotion I really expected. Again, excellent bakery, just very disappointed with the experience and customer service.
