History

Established in 2011.

Charley Shin opened his first restaurant (Charley’s Grilled Subs) in 1986 when he was 22 years old, and a junior at The Ohio State University.

The volume of customers grew so fast that the original restaurant was soon moved to the location that still exists today, at The Ohio State University.

Aside from award-​winning Philadelphia Cheese Steaks, Charley’s is known for its irresistibly fresh grilled subs and salads, fresh lemonade and fries.

Our company’s mission is to be the best specialty sandwich chain; committed to quality, customer excellence and community enrichment through consistency with continuous process improvement for the purpose of customer satisfaction.

We are a quick-​service restaurant chain located primarily in shopping mall food courts and other non-​traditional locations. Each meal is prepared fresh in front of our customers. We want to be remembered as the «Best Philadelphia-​style Cheese Steak Restaurant.»
