Akron General Health & Wellness Center West

Another one of Akron Generals unfriendly locations. It’s too bad that a health care facility can’t get it right with treating people like something other than just another account number. There is a Subway inside that I can’t say anything about as we didn’t eat there.

Went to sign up with my Domestic Partner. We are not considered a «enough» of a family to be given the rate they give the «nice people» who are married. Their reasoning was (even though we share a Mortgage, Health Insurance, Utilities and a Time Share”)… «what if you break up? who’ll be responsible for paying us?»
In the State of Ohio, an official Partnership Agreement is valid in most every place but Lifestyles. «Family» to them is a nice married couple, ours was not nice enough to be respected and placed together on one account.

On occasion I need to give a little blood. The lab center here is always fabulous. They people are very nice and they do their best to get me in and out quickly since I am normally on my way to work in western Cleveland. Today, unfortunately, the moved the lab to a new location mixed with cardiology and some other stuff (I didn’t pay that close attention). There was a line of people and it was quite disorganized given the new location. That said, again, the people went out of their way to get everyone serviced quickly and happily — they even tag-​teamed me: One entered my medical insurance information, while the other drew my blood.
On a side note, when I used to work in Akron, I was also a member of the Akron General Lifestyles Fitness Center. They have two locations, one in Montrose and one in Stow. Both are very well run and worth the money if you are near enough to get the most out of them.

I use this location for it’s conference facilities and it’s Subway sandwich shop.
My company (which is ¼ of a mile away) uses this facility frequently for meetings and gatherings. The rooms are nice and the catering is better than average.
