Holiday Inn Express & Suites Aiken

New hotel, very clean, breakfast served in the morning. Rooms have a half fridge, microwave, and a 42“ish full swivel television. Direct TV with more than just the basic channels.

This hotel is about a year old, give or take a few months. Funny thing, In the past, Aiken had select hotels and rooms were had to come by. Forcing you to stay in Augusta, Geogia. Not any more.
Bright colors and the latest interior design and materials. More of a urban, modern comfort. This hotel has 4 floors, huge exercise facility and an outdoor pool. The evening I checked in the parking lot was empty for the most part, but the next morning at breakfast, told a different story. Parking lot was full, so many weary travels checked in.
Front desk staff was super.
Breakfast was included and offered an array of fruits, hot and cold cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage, turkey patties, biscuits, muffins, bagels, toast, croissants, a waffle machine, variety of juices, cinnamon rolls (a favorite from what I saw), coffee and tea.
There is free coffee all day and evening long in the lobby. My suggestion, include, a canaster of hot water for the tea lovers. There are more of us than you think. Although, Maurice, was extremely understanding and found a solution. He just placed some water in one of the café canisters and everyone in my party had a nice cup of tea before bed.
The rooms consist of a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv on a dresser stand, computer desk, free wifi, and a comfortable chair. The bathroom is state of the art and love the double walk in shower. Glass doors are on rollers (think barn doors). This room was not the wheel chair acceptable handicap room, but easily accommodating for disabled guests. Hair dryer and plenty of towels.
My other suggestion, invest in a few more tables for breakfast. A majority of the guests arrive at the same time and tables were hard to come by. The café personnel was overwhelmed with the demand. She was responsible for cleaning the tables, replenishing the food and coffee canisters. She earned her days pay this particular morning.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. Close to restaurants, all shopping, minutes from the high school and many parks and recreational facilities.

Very nice hotel! The staff is very friendly & accommodating! The beds are great too! The bathroom is very nice, however, those with small children that need a bathtub, beware, they only have stand up showers… Very nice, glass stand up showers to be exact. The cleaning staff does a great job as well!

Hotel is still new; even smells new. Clean, nice. Check in staff exceptionally pleasant.
