Peterson Properties of Hawaii Llc

I can’t speak for everyone who works at this company but thus far my experience with Peterson properties has been less than exceptional. The professionalism spoken about on their website on testimonies has yet to be seen by myself.
From the get go the real estate agent who showed us the rental was not very professional. In all honesty had I known she would be our property manager as well I, and my cousins, probably would have opted out of renting this one.
Later I found out my cousin had asked her if she could do a later showing that day as she works three jobs and only had a half day off. To which the agent responded «I don’t have time to be driving all over the Island!»
Rude!
If you don’t have time or do not want to that is perfectly fine, but there is a better way to say it than that.
When I arrived at the showing I saw a lady sitting in front of the home staring at her phone screen. I was about to ask her if she was the owner, lived there or what, but before I could without introducing herself, greeting me, or getting up she says «its in the back, its open» then goes back to what she was doing on her phone.
I had to show myself around the rental place.
I was 10 minutes late and it was a Sunday so I thought maybe she was upset about this. I apologized for it though. I’m not sure if she always deals this way with prospective renters or if she was only doing this to me because I am fairly young, either way it wasn’t very professional.
Also she was much more reachable and prior to us signing the lease.
Like I said if I had known she was going to be our property manager I probably would have skipped this one.
We dread having to contact her for anything.
I wouldn’t recommend this company. Or perhaps just do your research on the agents before using this business?

I have been wanting to buy a home for YEARS and have worked with Peterson Properties LLC since the beginning of my «hunt.» I had looked at lots of places and had lots of obsticles during my search and I have always had nothing but patience and kindness from Peterson Properties staff. I never felt like they had given up on me and my finding my perfect place. Well yesterday, I signed doc’s for my new apartment and I have to say thank you to my agent Brandy Cummings who has helped me through the long awaited goal of owning my very first home! I had everything explained to me thoroughly (being brand new to all the legal documents and verbage of real estate) I really felt at ease with one of the biggest decisions in life! If you are in search of an awesome agent that will help you through the big life event that is purchasing a home, contact Peterson Properties!!! You wont regret it! thank you again for helping me achieve my biggest goal so far in life! I look forward to refering and hearing my friends success stories in the near future!

If I could rate this «company» with a 0, I would. First of all, NONE of the employees here are professional. This company managed my property for about 3 years. In these 3 years, so much damage has been done to the inside of my property without it being brought to my attention. Not once did this company ever attempt to raise my rent, as every other property around mine had a higher rent. There was damage done to my walls, ceilings, and plumbing, that I was not notified about. Whenever I attempted to make contact with this company, it was as if they went into hiding. They do not like answering phone calls unless it’s on their terms and it’s so difficult to schedule things such as a walk through or get a straight answer from anyone. Even my tenants had problems with the way this company is managed. When the tenants asked Peterson Properties to schedule repairs, they took way too long just doing that and sent over unprofessional repair men. One incident, would be when a repair man came over to look at the wall in my kitchen for a «live wire» and left a giant open hole in the middle of that wall. No repair to cover this hole has been made, all the repair man did was cover the hole with one clear layer of packaging duct tape. This was brought to Peterson Properties’ attention multiple times by the tenants and myself, but they failed to make attempts to fix it. So now, I have a giant hole in my kitchen wall, and water damage on my kitchen and bathroom ceilings that were never properly addressed/​fixed. When I scheduled a walk through of my property, one of the employee’s was supposed to meet us at the property and let us inside. (I had tenants living in the property at this time.) But, about 10 minutes to the appointment time, this employee text messaged my phone saying that she would not be able to make it and if we could just call our tenants, whom I have never met, and ask them to let us in. Very «professional». As we moved back into our rental, the damages were still to this day not addressed or fixed and the biggest issue I currently have, is that I have yet to receive my deposit back from this company. They missed the 14 business day mark to return it and have not made any attempts to call me or contact me as to why I have not received my money back. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. This business is managed horribly and the employees do not conduct themselves or the business they do in a professional way.

Peterson Properties of Hawaii is Excellent! They are extremely professional and go above and beyond for their clients. I’ve dealt with them on numerous occasions and can say that they have made my life so much easier because I didn’t have to worry about my properties! They have always been extremely prompt, detailed and courteous in their transactions. I thought I worked hard, they work 24 – 7! You will be thrilled to work with these ladies!

My problem lies with Peterson Properties of Hawaii LLC and their management of it’s rental properties and tenants.
Once I signed my lease at the office, that’s the last time I ever saw the office physically staffed! Who knew it was a work at home business? They have «regular» office hours, but it’s a gamble actually finding the lights on and the door unlocked with someone inside.
However, that doesn’t prevent you from turning in your monthly rent. There’s a slot in the door where you can deposit your check. You can watch as it falls onto the floor and then pray that no one uses a coat hanger to fish it out. Otherwise, you can use direct deposit for a monthly convenience $$fee$$.
Good luck trying to pin down someone in the flesh and blood! For your sake, email is the best form of communication. It’s indisputable written proof! Otherwise, it’s «I didn’t get your text, I didn’t get your voice mail, I didn’t get your call».
Be ready for an inspection every 6 months! That was a first for me! They come in – and don’t even bother to remove their shoes – and look around for damage. In my opinion, that should be the least of their concerns…
If you need something repaired, dig your heels in – it’s a long, uphill battle. For example, ABC isn’t working and you email XYZ to request a repair. Three days later, XYZ replies and asks if you tried «jiggling it» to make it work. Jiggling it, really? Immediately you reply that «jiggling it» is not going to fix it, that XYZ has no common sense, has wasted time and delayed the repair. Two days later, XYZ states that the work order has been submitted. Two days go by and no one has called to schedule an appointment… I’m not going to bore you with anymore. Honestly I don’t know how the story ends because it’s ONGOING!
Yes, I’m bitter!!! It’s sad because I own a home on the mainland which I’m currently renting out and I DO NOT treat my tenants this way. Isn’t it the objective to keep the tenant reasonably pleased with the property so that they remain there and stay in the rental agreement? DUH! Unfortunately, I have 6 more months on my lease.
If you’re considering renting a property from this company, think about it long and hard. Everyone is nice and all smiles with promises and reassurances of «No worries», «We’ll take care of that», «We can fix that», «I’ll see to it», «Just call us», We’re here”. They don’t pan out when the rubber meets the road.
