if youre not expecting fine dining. From cali & mongolian noodles are every where, yummmmm. I like it spicy & i ALWAYS cook it with meat, all the meats but i never actually eat it.

Worst mongolian BBQ I have ever eaten at. I woudl give it «0» stars if I could. No taste, even though I asked for medium spicy, with garlic spices. Bowels are small. Soup taste like colored water. And an hour after eating there my mouth tastes like I just ate a whole box of salt. The restaurant was dirty. I would never recommend this palce to anyone. I don’t see how the palce is still in business. I should have had a Big Mac in the same food court. I would have liked it better.

Ok this is my 2nd time here I really love Mongolian bbg but this place just isn’t it for me. Not many choices and none of the veggies are labeled. Also this time I decided to splurge & add shrimp I don’t suggest doing
flavor whatsoever I almost threw up because it caught my taste buds by surprise AND the chicken was not cooked all the way thru it was still super pink I don’t believe in salmonella at all… I won’t eat here again! Where is BD’s Mongolian Grill when you need it!

We had lunch here yesterday, and I spent the rest of the day worried I’d be experiencing the wrath of Great Khan. The place did not look clean and had a dirty feel to it. I took it as a good sign when I noticed the cashier was wearing rubber gloves. That was until she wore the same gloves through the entire transaction that included handling our money, our change, our forks and filling our drinks. A closer look at those gloves made me suspect they had never been changed since she started working there. I think the word is out. From what I saw, my buddies and I were the only customers during yesterday’s Great Khan«lunch rush.» The employees seem to know it too. There were no smiles and they were moving slowly. Also, even with the lack of traffic, the ingredient bowls were all in a state of emptiness or picked-through near emptiness. I suspect these employees suspect that Great Khan’s days are numbered and they will soon be passing out their resumes. Even though I didn’t get sick, I will not be back.

Friendly service, but bad food and not so hygenic. The carrots were brown around the edges, the steak was freezer burned and the rice was over cooked. I asked for shrimp. The cashier then puts a plastic container of raw shrimp on my tray. As she sets the tray down one of the shrimp jumps on to the pile of napkins. After the shrimp is rescued with bare hands(this is a restaurant hands are washed, fingers crossed; well germs will burn of on the grill :)) I ask for another napkin. Rather than removing the raw shrimp napkin, she places another one on top. I then explain that she needs to discard those napkins and give me a new one. For those with food allergies red meat(beef & pork) and poultry(chicken & turkey) share tongs. Thank God I’m not affected unless it’s fused together during cooking. BTW, I have a pork allergy.

EVERYYYYYTIME the BF and I go to Pearlridge and we eat at the food court… he always wonders about this place. I looooove to eat at Yummy’s or Panda, or even Tsuruya… but he finally decided he wanted to try this place out. The cashier was very nice and explained how to go about ordering/prepping the food. You pay, grab a bowl, stack it with all the meat/veggies you want, and then someone will assist you with adding sauces and the noodles and they cook it on the huge flat… surface? lol for lack of a better word… The meat is frozen and the veggies are sitting out. Not very appetizing but eh, the BF was eating it. He chose pork and steak, and added veggies such as cabbage, onions, baby corn, mushrooms, zucchini, and broccoli. The gentleman helped us choose a sauce and then put everything on the flat(grill? wok?) and cooked away… he was very enthusiastic and greeted new customers with a smile… so that was nice of him. Okay back to the food, so my BF got his noodles, a cup of miso soup, and white rice, for $ 9.99. We were on our way home to eat, but we stopped real quick to try it out. I’m notoriously picky(this the BF knows!) and one bite was enough for me. It had NO flavor… the BF said«it’s okay» and«it’s something different». Uh huh… While he ate his noodles… I enjoyed my BBQ chicken and kalbi from Yummy’s… hehe. :)

Ok I was thrilled and beyond myself thinking YESYESYES finally we got a Mongolian bbq grill here in Hawaii at the mall… and then… Yikes! I have been to several on the mainland and it is always a great experience and I have longed for one here. So when I was Unilocal-studying where to chow next I found this place. I was excited, beyond excited… We went there and it was a little past 5pm on a week night and to my amazement there was no line and no other customers there. It didn’t dawn on me till after we paid that this place was lacking. When I say lacking. there wasn’t much food to put into the bowl provided. Basically, there were several frozen pieces of meat left sitting there, like they didn’t want to fully stock it to make it look more appealing. Then the vegetables, hmmm aren’t bean sprouts look more white when fresh? These were turning already and were almost brownish in color, the cabbage too was turning brown and the edges were starting to turn brown, there were bowls filled with nothing just left there empty, the mushrooms too were not super dooper fresh either. I couldn’t try this place. I was super disappointed as I really wanted to eat there and have Mongolian BBQ. It probably would have tasted OK but they have great customer service and after me asking they gave us a full refund. I will check back one day to see just hopefully it has gotten better and I will finally get to have a Mongolian BBQ grilled plate lunch in Hawaii. If not I guess I can wait till I am in California.

I feel bad because I want these guys to do so well. But with the high overhead of being at Pearlridge, you will either need volume or make your prices high. The food here does not lend itself to either option. The veggies are not well-stocked like people said and some of the ingredients like the broccoli look rather pathetic. They chop off the broccoli crowns into quarters and put strips of gait looking broccoli into their trays. It’s kind of symbolic of the place. They were out of the baby corn and we had to get their attention after a few minutes for them to restock it, which the gentleman did by bringing out a huge can of baby corn and dumping it out(he followed that up with putting corn on the cob bits into the container too, that was odd). There were no pineapples, which I like. No mushrooms, celery, green onions, etc. What they did have — there were sliced onions, sliced cabbage, sliced carrots, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. There were plenty of water chestnuts in fact, like two trays full. I don’t like water chestnuts LOL. The lady who seems to be part of new ownership actually gave us more noodles than in the past so that has improved a little. There are no condiment dispensers to add to the finished product. They add the sauces for you so the mixing is done very subtly, almost too subtle. I would like some of the sweet and sour chili sauce to give it more flavor. Do you want me to bring my own? Ghetto, but I’ll do it if I have to. Finally, I think parts of my chicken/turkey were undercooked. The young lad that is at the«circle» does it kind of fast and perhaps he’s not patient enough. Not good. Overall, pretty disappointing but since this is the only Mongolian BBQ on the island, I still have to give it a 3 because it’s better than nothing. I guess I like Mongolian BBQ that much.

Love this place. You get to choose which meats and vegetables to have with your noodles. The secret to getting your moneys worth is the way you pack your meat and vegetables in the bowl.

This was not my first time here but I think it will be my last. The way to a eaters heart in Hawaii is give lots and make it reasonable, just like Yummy’s does. The frozen meat are so big that it doesn’t fit in the bowl right, therefore you can’t put much of anything in it, places I have been on the mainland actually give you a wax paper so you can mash the meat, therefore creating space for the vegetables. Then when it was time to put the noodles on top, the guy barely put a handful, seriously after the meal I went over to Sbarros for a slice of cheese pizza. Do not recommend, which hurts me to say because I want all small business’ to have a chance, plus giving us variety but this place doesn’t have a clue.

Genghis Khan? Lol O well, ate here for the first time since I’ve never seen this place before this past weekend. It’s in the food court(theater side) of Pearlridge. Right next to the rail car booth . Didn’t expect much after seeing the paper thin meats. I was wrong. For the price, you get meat(beef, pork, chicken) or all of them, veggies, and noodles. They give a bowl you pile whatever you want in it. More meat is my way :) Then you a pick a sauce and the cook fries it up for you on a BIGASS grill right up front. Fresh and hella Flavorful. Is it Mongolian food? Idk but ill eat it again.

I was searching for the Mongolian BBQ on Hickam but this is the best that I came across. Anywho Me and the BF went with his folks to have dinner and of course I was a Mongolian BBQ virgin. So when I had grab myself a bowl, I looked at the table and realize that this table was full with options of vegetables and fruits. I didn’t know where to start so I walked down the line and started to fill my bowl with veggies cause of course I hate cooked fruits, finally the veggies were done. The meats were next and the options never stopped. Soooo many choices huh, finally it was over or I thought it was until I seen another table set up with varieties of sauce and spices and soo much more you could add to your bowl. I felt like a piglet and I hadn’t eaten anything yet. lol By the time I was finish my bowl was a cluster F*#k of who knows what, all I could think of was what if it doesn’t taste good, then I screw myself. We moved on to the cook standing by the big round grill, while we wait we drop a dollar in the tip jar and wait for our number to be called. When it is done we grab our food and head back to our table and start eating. I was set up for disater and ended up with a full mouth of flavors, my mouth was having an orgasm and I was the host. lol Overall it was a great set up and I enjoyed myself and so did my mouth! When you get there a lady greats you and takes you to your table, then you go to the food table grab a bowl and start loading it with veggies. It is a lunch line set up with many choices, a salad bar stocked with meats and a table full of sauce and spices. I like it because your options are open, not a menu that you stare at for minutes trying to decide what to get. Get ready to undo that top button and make room. When you filled your bowl to the top they weight it then you pay. You take your bowl to the cook and of course they cook your food, don’t forget to tip the cook. Grab your food when your number is called and move to the next table. Wait yeah it’s not done yet, this table is filled with rolls, noodles, rice soups and more, oh my. You get all of this for the price you paid, well they add it to your total when you pay for your food but it isn’t much. Grab a plate and keep shoveling food onto don’t worry it is your last stop. This table is all you can eat oh don’t forget the drinks and dessert, nom, nom, nom. Of course if you want a beer you pay seperate. Enjoy your meal! You need to have a military Id to get on Hickam of course or go with someone who has one. It is open only on Thursday from 5:30 — 8 p.m. * $.65 per oz. it is a weekly thing at the Officers’ club.

Mongolian BBQ! I rated this high because there are hardly(or no other?) places like this on the island. Usually mongolian bbq places charge per weight of the plate, but Great Khan has a standard fee to make things easy! You basically stuff as much food as you want in a bowl and give it to the cook and tell him what sauces you want on it. I do not recommend going 100% spicy since their spicy is very hot(made this mistake the first time). Half spicy with another sauce is just the right amount of heat for me. They cook it right infront of you and it takes just a few minutes. I would give them 5 stars if the cook started dancing or something while you waited since it does get boring watching him cook. –You get a lot of food(if you planned piling the bowl correctly) and it tastes great.

A new and healthier(?) alternative to the usual shopping center food court fare. Great Khan is «great» for sharing a meal before a movie at Pearlridge Downtown. I say sharing because if you get a plate from here all to yourself you most likely will have to go back to your car and deposit the leftovers before they’ll let you in the movie theater. Cost is about $ 8 or $ 9 dollars for a standard plate. I added shrimp for $ 3 more and it was totally not worth it. It came in a little sauce cup and didn’t really add anything to the stir fry, so my recommendation is to stick to the meats and veggies. I got the pork and chicken for my meats and cabbage, bean sprouts and onions for my veggies. I was a bit surprised by the big bowl of noodles and the amount the man scooped up for me. I think I would not have gotten so much if the lady was doing the scooping. The lady did mix me up an awesome sauce though. I told her I wanted spicy and garlic and she delivered.

I love this place. Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know but I absolutely love this place. I usually come here after I finish work because by the time I get off, I’m starving and Great Khan is the best place to go when you’re starving. Why? Cause they don’t weigh anything. You can pile on as much vegetables and meat as your fat obese heart desires. Plus, they all shrink when they cook it so it’s best to load it up. I usually get lots of vegetables with beef, then I put oyster sauce, garlic, lemon, and their BBQ sauce to give it flavor. It usually leaves me with a nice flavor pulling more on the sweet side. I do double starch and get rice AND noodles. Yeah so what I eat like I’m 300 lbs, deal with it.

I’m a picky eater when it comes to vegetables so Great Khan’s Mongolian BBQ is just right for me. $ 7.99 is a great price for the amount of food you get. After reading some of these other reviews, I’m glad that I’m not the only one who packs on the food. Sometimes you just can’t help but get creative when trying to get everything to fit in that small bowl. I have not bothered to eat at any of the Pearlridge Food Court establishments since discovering this place. A tip, though. If you get to this place right before closing, chances are they may be out of your choice of meats and vegetables. I don’t think they replenish the food supply as they get close to closing time.

The concept here has been explained in posts past. I used to eat at GK’s in San Diego as a starving student. If you go with a partner in crime, you can take your bowl and smash down the meat and veggies into another bowl, thus creating extra space for more meat and veggies. This particular shop did not let me pile on the noodles… the«Chef» did, so I feel I got cheated. My record in San Diego was 3 meals from one entrée since I got so much food in there. This time I got maybe 1.5… :( The entrée is about $ 8.00, and I’d say the quality of the meat and veggies are actually pretty low. For the Pearl Ridge food court, this probably the best option, but this is not for foodies.

I found this place on Unilocal, read the reviews and decided to try it out. The previous reviews from Kanoe and Tiffany were very helpful and informative; I don’t want to be redundant. I’ll just add that while the miso soup was tasty, I think I can do without it next time. The best advice that I can give is to fill your bowl up with as much as you can prior to getting to the noodle station. Don’t worry about it because the worker will help you at that point with your noodles and sauce(s.) I chose BBQ, garlic and lemon sauces which turned out great. I added a nice dose of sriracha afterwards for the kick and it was just what I was looking for. Low-carb dieters and vegetarians should love this place because you can opt to leave out noodles or meat from your dish. Check it out, I think you’ll enjoy it!

I initially heard about the food from this place from some friends who consider it the«Best Hangover Cure». Still it took me a while before I tried it(I try to avoid Pearlridge now that I’ve grown out of adolescence) … and as a note I was NOT hungover! The menu offers you two options: 1) Entrée — which is just the main stuff(noodles, meats, other ingredients & sauce) and 2) The Works — which adds on rice and miso soup(yah it’s a little strange). Once making your selection you’re given a bowl for you to fill. Unlike some of the first posts … YOUDOGETTOCHOOSEALLYOURINGREDIENTS. So load up on whatever you want because it’s up to you! The workers will make the sauce and add noodles for you. In the bowl the food looks like so little, but trust me you’ll be satisfied! Its always fun to watch the cook make your plate because its such a unique technique! NOTE: Be patient, because there are only two people working at one time it seems and one is the cook who doesn’t generally leave the grill. The other worker works the cash register and does the sauces and adds the noodles … so if it’s busy, you could be in line for a while. This is a nice spot to get some good grub … and apparently to help cure a hangover?!? Enjoy.

So there i was fresh out of a movie in the mall. Having forgone the mandatory popcorn and nachos combo in order to dine somewhat more nurishingly after the show, I was pretty hungry. Back in Minnesota, i used to frequent a place called, ironically, Khan’s, which has the exact same concept as this eatery. So, i gave their Mongolian BBQ a try. They have a pretty wide selection to fill your bowl with. Turkey, beef, pork, shrimp, even lamb. Wide variety of veggies as well. After you fill your bowl, you head over to the sauce station and you mix whatever tasty concoction of flavors you enjoy. I personally like the garlic water, osyter sauce, sesame oil and just a hint of heat from the medium chili sauce. Then you take your bowl over to the furnace and the cook sizzles your items till they are ready. The food is really good. I love so close to the mall, i really should go here more often. If you ever find yourself hungry after a movie a pearlridge, walk on over to Great Khan’s and give them a try. «S»
