I give the food here 4 stars. You have your standard Hawaii plate lunch menu with reasonable prices. I’ve been here twice and both times I’ve gotten the loco moco. It was absolutely delicious! The hamburger steak was thick and juicy, which is one of the main things I look for in a loco moco. I give the overall restaurant 5 stars because of the customer service. The man at the counter is the nicest guy ever. My first time eating here I was with my boyfriend and we were the only two customers there, as it was near closing. The man brought us our food and water as if it was a sit-in restaurant. He also gave us the remote to the flat screen TV so we could watch anything we wanted. The best part was the free sweet smoked meat. He had said it was one of his favorites and wanted us to try, so he asked the cook to smoke up a cup of meat. It was just as delicious as the loco moco! The atmosphere here is beyond welcoming and the food is great for your buck. If you’re in Aiea, definitely check out Erts Grill.

Had the pork lunch. The girl in the truck was SUPER sweet! The food was quick, and I had my food ready before my friends were able to get theirs from the G Shrimp truck, which is in the same parking lot. I thought it was a little salty, and a little dry.:(

I heard so much about this place, but I found them not in Aiea but down North Shore next to Giovanni’s Shrimp in a Lunch Wagon. I just had to try the Teryiaki Chicken that a friend of my kept talking about it, and she was right its quite delicious, even the smoked meat. OMG the smoked meat tasted like thick slices of Bacon, cooked in caramel onions. OMG delicious! The worker was very friendly & very polite.

Real good food at a great price. Had the breakfast platter with spam, eggs and rice. Huge plate and very inexpensive. Will definitely go back to try their lunch specials.

Found this place on Unilocal when looking for something good too eat. What first attracted me to this place was that they offer smoked meat. Now in Oahu u can’t really find good smoke meat unless u know someone. It’s usually bought pork butt not wild and they use liquid smoke. Not like what u find on the outer islands. After mapping it out I was happy to find it was close to my home. I jumped in my car and was their in 5 mins. As I pulled in I was reminded this place sucks for parking. The top entrance is one way only and u always got people trying to exit their. The parking spaces r tight and sometimes their not enuf space to make the turn in to a parking or around a corner. Bad parking lot layout. The counter people were very nice, two young ladies they was friendly. Looking at the menu I decided on smoked meet w/eggs and a deluxe cheese burger and crinkle cut fried for the wife. That’s when I noticed the special, pipikaula, I didn’t know what to do. The counter girl saw the look on my face an said she would give me a small sample to try. BAM extra star. As far as the food, smoked meat was alright, a little bland, the pipikaula was the same. Although bland they were better most of what I’ve tried in Oahu, just had to add shoyu. Hard to beat the pipikaula from Alicia’s or foodland or outer island smoke meat. My wife liked the burger, said it had a homemade flavor, I wouldn’t know she ate it all, but shared the fries. Fries were great! All in all I would have give them 4 stars, but gave the an extra for the pipikaula sample. Price was reasonable, my order came out to under $ 13. Portions r good, I was full from my plate. My only gripe was no sides came with my plate, just the meat and starch, no Mac or salad. But I did get a candy, they give one in each plate. I would try this place again. Smoke meat and pipikaula were a little disappointing but I still enjoyed them, I don’t mind adding shoyu, I always do anyways. The hard thing is that this area has some great restaurants, Young’s BBQ, palazzo, mariachi’s, golden wheel, queen street, m&w, aiea manapua, sushi spot, etc. At least this is the only place that has smoke meat and pipikaula.

5 stars for breakfast! $ 5 for basic breakfast: 2 eggs, choice of breakfast meat, and rice. Just $ 7.50 for Ert’s BIG breakfast with 3 eggs and two breakfast meats. The scrambled eggs were more like a plain omelet. Just the way I and the Mrs. like it. Asked for well done and it came well done(but not burnt). Asked for the breakfast meats to be browned and they were — perfectly. Everything was cooked perfectly to order and served nice and hot. As a bonus, breakfast is served all day. I didn’t notice that before. Will help when I need a smoked meat fix and the Mrs. wants to eat eggs.

I can’t say I didn’t appreciate having a Jolly Rancher unexpectedly served to me with my meal. However, I can say I didn’t appreciate that it was the best part of that meal. Nothing else I had or saw my fellow diners eating was worth of the moderate price or the short trip to Aiea to get it.

Came here for the first time, i Ordered the smoke pork and onion plate for $ 8, it was okay… they really had a simplified menu… smoke pork, steak, shrimp and chicken… from what I could tell from their menu board. I’ll probably be back here to see how their steak is like:-)

Came here twice using the groupon deal. I tried their lunch bento which had plenty food. Couldn’t finish it in 1 setting. Also tried the garlic butter steak. Ordered it medium well but think next time I will get it medium because it was kind of dry. Ty I’ve huge portions and was very friendly. Will definitely be back to try the chili and hamburger steak.

I’ve been once and this is a mixed review. Let’s start with the good stuff. I had my dog in the car and was peeking at the menu through the window. The guy behind the counter brought me s menu to help me out! We ordered the garlic butter steak, hambuger steak and fried rice. Garlic butter steak — thin slices not as juicy as I like Hamburger steak — good with lots of juice and some crispy spots just how I like it Fried rice — best part of meal yum! Mac salad — just ok not sure why? Too much egg not enough mayo?!? Try it! Good welcome to the variety in Aiea.

Unilocal Challenge 365 # 116⁄365 I will preface my review by saying I try to make my reviews a «review» rather than a gripe session so please bear with me if it sounds like a «gripe» as I will do my best to «review» this place. First of all, I purchased a Groupon. The groupon ad was a picture of a chili dog smothered with chili and cheese. I get the order counter and guess what? No hot dog! None whatsoever on the menu. Counter clerk said she«could make a hot dog but they don’t have grated cheese…» That’s okay because I will order their $ 8 regular plate of tri tip steak medium rare with side of corn.(There are 2 of us; each ordered the same thing with the exception of the meat done-ness) Side order of garlic butter shrimp too. Next thing I get is «Sorry, your order will take 30 minutes at least.!» What??? 30 minutes to grill a medium rare trip tip steak? I don’t think so… Next to the next is «Sorry, we don’t have white rice, only brown rice» What??? No rice then, give me a toss salad instead. Next to the next, next is «Here’s your order… 7MINUTESLATER…(What happened to the 30 minutes?). Well, here’s why! My steak was refrigerator cold on the inside and if they grill on a grill… there were no grill marks. I think they threw it in the microwave. Here’s the kicker! My lunch mate’s plate came with guess what? WHITERICE!!! So I ask«Thought you said there was no white rice?» Embarressed, she brings me a container of 2 scoops of white rice… Then, where’s our shrimp? «Oh Oh… sorry… 3 minutes later out comes the shrimp. it was medium rare but that’s okay because we are not up to the 30 minutes they originally quoted. I sent my steak back; asked them to throw it on their grill top and ATLEASTHEATTHEDARNMEATUP… Sounds bad? Well, some stories end up with a good ending. I ate all my steak, was upset but then… give them 4 stars because of their EFFORT to please. Please ask for the LARGE trash can to leave your empty plates. DON’T leave it in the SMALL trash can; that’s only for soda cups and small stuff. Get it? Small stuff in small trash can, Large stuff in large trash can… Whoever the owner or owners are? My guess is they were tenured workers with the former Aloha Airlines, possibly inflight as their uniformed shirts were hanging for decoration along with a few other memorabilia from Aloha Air. I may try them again… their menu reminds me of Blazing Steaks… I will charge this experience off to their having a «bad» day…

Two pretty juicy homemade hamburger patties, on a two scoop bed of rice, with a scoop of mac salad, ALL covered in homemade brown gravy, and we got ourselves a pretty darn good looking Hamburger Steak Plate. Take out the mac salad, replace it with two eggs over easy, right on top and again… smothered in gravy and we went up a notch with the Hawaiian island staple… the Loco Moco! All priced at a reasonable $ 7.00, and $ 7.50 respectively, and we got ourselves a great tasty lunch deal. The menu here isn’t too large, but maybe that’s because they put all their focus on whatever’s on it, and put out a top notch product. I’ll have to research this deeper(with pleasure) Upon entry we notice the little dining area is clean, the smiling counter person welcoming and anxious to help, and the food came out from the kitchen at a fairly good clip. That’s all the things we look for in your friendly neighborhood eatery.

Saw your ad in Dining Out today. The first paragraph says, Looking for a family friendly restaurant with a homey atmosphere. Let me say, your restaurant needs immediate help to improve the friendly part. Your cashier turned me off completely. No smile, no hello or welcome, just looked at me like I committed a crime against her. I know it’s hard to find decent hired help but with her attitude you’ll lose a lot of customers. I know you have at least 2 cashier, she’s the young caucasian girl. p.s Love your smoke pork but won’t be back for a while.

This place has a small menu with basic items on them– steak, burgers(including hamburger steak, loco moco). I was greeted quickly by the counter person and checked on periodically during the meal which was a nice touch. Based on the items I tasted the place is good! I tried steak(garlic and teriyaki) as well as the cheeseburger. The steak was thinly cut so it wasn’t as juicy as I would have liked but the portion size was good. The burger was super basic. The burger itself was juicy and delish but the rest of the burger was just ok. I wish the menu was larger and the the few items on the menu that I tried were perfected! I will try this place some more because I believe it has much potential– PLUS I heard the chili is yumm!

We were searching for somewhere to eat and came across this new place. I studied the menu outside for about 15 minutes until I decided to eat here. The bf had the special, smoke meat with onions and that was delicious. I decided to be safe and go with the hamburger. A $ 3 homemade patty on a cheap bun with no dressing, they provide you with a packet of ketchup and mustard to make your own. Honestly, I could have got a better burger at McDonalds for 90% less. But the smoked meat was great. The staff are very friendly and courteous. I was thinking about getting a garlic shrimp plate but for $ 12 it better taste like Kahuku Shrimp which I highly doubted so I aired caution and went with the hamburger. You can add 5 pieces of garlic shrimp to any plate for $ 4. All in all at least I tried it.

Went to get dinner here on a recommendation from a friend. At first, the empty dining room gave us the wrong impression. We were soon proven wrong. The gf ordered the smoked meat with onions, which btw tasted like Maui or sweet onions. I had the hamburger steak, my «safe» choice whenever I try somewhere I’m not familiar with. We also ordered the chili bowl because our friend told us it was really good. I have to be honest though, I felt the chili was a tad too salty for us and a little oily, but the other dishes were quite to our liking. The hamburger steak had bits of what I thought were Portuguese sausage or ham in it, which gave it a good taste. Unusual, but it worked for me! The Mac salad was also good and the gravy smooth and not lumpy. The smoked meat was just right, not overpowered by the«smoke» taste and the onions were sweet. They also give the meals a little special touch– a piece of candy with each dish– a neat idea, even if it’s just one little piece of candy, I’ve never experienced something like that anywhere else!!! I also want to mention, the proprietor took the time to pop into the dining room and thank us. That made a really big difference. Not very many places do that. I will be back, we enjoyed our meals very much!

Came here to buy take out for my hubby’s dinner. My friend had mentioned that her little boys loved the chili here, and since her boys are picky eaters, I figured the chili must be good! They were right! The $ 4 chili bowl was excellent! I love how their chili has bits of Portuguese sausage in it — yum! Great place for homestyle cooking!
