Three stars because the place needs renovations lol but it wasn’t all that bad because I’ve seen worse. Chez is a local spot but I see lots of military too at times. I like the age group here because you don’t see a bunch of 21 year olds getting«turnt» or whatever and that’s nice when you want to chill have some drinks and watch some games lol. They serve food, not sure till what time, might be all night. It’s not the best food but it is descent, especially when they have specials and happy hour. I read a lot of reviews where the service is crappy but I’ve been to chez a good amount of times and never had a bad experience with servers and I’ve had all the different ones. They were sociable and kept us entertained, and please let’s keep in mind the fact that dealing with a bunch of drunks or tipsy/whatever is frustrating but they do a good job. One bartender gave us refills for free on certain drinks saying«hell no you drink allaaaa dat!» As he filled the shot again lol. Overall I’d keep going. It’s not a rowdy crowd most times, there’s usually always someplace to sit, food, darts, fun bartenders and cheap drinks for the most part lol. Note: just be careful make sure you don’t drink and drive, police literally camp outside in the parking lot making sure people don’t dui.

I miss Chez Monique! The food was such a step above«Chez»!! We ordered a pitcher of beer(which thankfully was DRAFT so Chez couldn’t mess that up… Much!), «Steamed Pork Hash», «Beef Mandoo», «Chez Spicy Soybeans», Ahi Poke, and Fried Noodles… SUCH A COMPLETEWASTEOFMONEY! Nothing is «homemade» and everything is frozen crap just fried or warmed up in a pan! Eating here is like eating at a college dorm where there are only microwaves and the occasional rice cooker to use as a make-shift fryer??? Seriously lacking in «cooking abilities»… The staff was polite and it wasn’t crowded at all so I would say the service was the only thing that made me give this place 2 stars! Steamed Pork Hash is NOTSTEAMEDATALL! It is cheap frozen shumai you can get in a package of 12 for $ 2 and they«pan steam» the shumai… Unimpressed! Beef Mandoo is store bought(even though I asked if they made it in house — the waitress said YES!)… Those who know what homemade Mandoo taste like understand that the wrapper being crispy and yet chewy is the key! This Mandoo was crispy but not chewy(only homemade wrappers can get the right consistency!)… Some parts of the wrapper were burned too. Chez Spicy Soybeans were frozen soybeans with a garlic ginger chili soy sauce. This sauce was WAYTOOSWEETVICESPICY… They did give a good portion of soybeans for the price… But I would rather pay for QUALITYVICEJUNK! Ahi Poke was NOTFRESHCONTRARYTOWHATTHEWAITRESSTOLDUS! I am a firm believer in only eating FRESHAHI… For goodness sake we live in HAWAII! Quality of the fish that appeared was inedible! I wouldn’t feed this shit to anyone! Last but not least… Fried Noodles… While the portion size was good… These fried noodles just taste like a hint of MSG and soy sauce. Nothing else! It was disappointing to say the least! Packaged noodles, fish cake, scallions, a few pieces of mysterious meat, and cabbage do not make a good fried noodle plate! Where is the oyster sauce and soy sauce with a hint of garlic and ginger and maybe a little cilantro? No robust flavors… Just BLAH! Chez is definitely a far cry from a sports bar let alone a grill! Bars are a dime a gazillion! What keeps a bar in business in the end is the QUALITYANDTASTEOFTHEFOOD/PUPUS BEINGSERVEDBECAUSETHEBEER/ALCOHOL AS A WHOLEISNOTMADEBYTHEESTABLISHMENTSOITISTHEFOODANDSERVICETHATATTRACTANDKEEPREGULARSCOMINGBACKAGAINANDAGAIN! Chez will not get my business anymore unless something drastically changes!

Like some other people mentioned, bartenders and servers here are very unsocial! Walked in with my wife and waited a good 15 minutes before a server came to us. Throughout the night, it was like she totally forgot about us even being there. Had to wave her down a couple times until I just got tired of it and decided to order my drinks straight from the bartender. Bartender just like the server, very unsocial. This place needs to train their staff better or hire new ones!

Horrible bar. Filthy chairs and tables, a porta potty for a bathroom, dart boards that don’t work and rude patrons along with rude security. If u ever want a fight just stay till closing

Very late review. Came here for the last UFC event where Rhonda Rousey fought for 34 seconds, lol. Chose Chez, because our normal spot BWW was way too packed. I will come here every UFC now, only a $ 5 cover charge, you can reserve tables, not too loud, cool atmosphere, good drinks. We had to stand(5 people) since all tables were taken for the first 30 to 45 minutes. I ordered from a server my drinks to start, 3 others ordered from the bartender(older lady). A table got up before the main events started so we got to sit and enjoy. My server(pregnant girl) was great, drinks were fast. Three other people in group ordered food from the bartender…45 minutes later we check with server and she said maybe it wasn’t rung in. I go and order food from my server, and it comes out in 10 minutes. My friends food that was ordered through the bartender still hasn’t come out. My server brings a platter of clams as an apology(great dish and a good portion of bread to sop up the sauce). I check with server about the other three dishes, again she said it wasn’t ordered. She was nice enough to take over the tab and order the food. Ninety minutes for a grilled cheese and burger is a little ridiculous. The other burger never made it out, so my friend canceled it. Mahalo to my server for trying to recover this for the bartender completely messing it up. The bill comes out and we expect to get something discounted, but nope. Even after 1.5 hours of waiting for food that was never rung in by the bartender, we still pay full price. I actually give 4 stars for my server(I think she was the pregnant younger girl) and how she took care of us, but 2 stars for the food failure and poor recovery by the bartender. Mahalo to the server for doing it great, I tipped her 25% for trying.

I really enjoyed this place! I’m from a small town so the feeling of a hole in the wall bar but with a pretty big interior was awesome! They had a great funk type band playing on Saturday, who got involved in the crowd and kept it fun! Their«self acclaimed(?)» Queen of soul has amazing pipes! I can’t remember the gals name who was our waitress but she was very friendly and fun as well! Laughed at our ridiculous lame jokes and never made us feel rushed. The food was excellent! She suggested the pupu platter which those bacon wrapped shrimp… um I’ll be back just for those. Venue has some dart boards, a full oval bar equipped with some big screens but it’s just a fun chill place! Great place for a decent sized group to go and hang and still converse! I’ll be back!

My husband and I came in a Monday night and like expected– it was quiet. I appreciated that ! The con was that it was freezing in there! I literally had ice floating in my beer! Over all, the prices were a bit high but if the atmosphere stays the same, I’m game to return!

We celebrated the end of our first semester of grad school at Chez. Located in the same building as Ichiriki, this chill venue is ideal for a larger party. We were there by 5pm on a Sunday and there was a lot of room to accommodate us. Drinks are in the same price bracket as most places. Unfortunately, I had to head out to a dinner shortly after arriving and didn’t have a chance to try their food. Everyone seemed to enjoy their selections and the happy hour specials are competitive. Overall, a great place to have a beer with friends. I’d come back here again!

Pretty decent spot, tge food tastes great but the portions suck. I have seen people get snatched up and tossed out for acting the fool, quite entertaining. I enjoy this place however it is frequented by the salt of the earth. The hoy ploy if you will.

Happy hour is great, but the bartenders on this day are the best! The ambiance is casual with a sort of homey/family feel and the frequent patrons make it a ritual inviting to return every week, including one of the owners! Food and drinks are great, but the prices and prizes given away after a game are even better!!!

Went here for SNF, after 3 hours, there are no services, U need to go to the bar area and ask for anything. Never coming back because they are not accommodating even if you paid more than $ 250+.

Wow, the low rating surprises me here. Yeah, so, this place holds a very interesting crowd, it gets loud, blah blah. It’s a bar. In Aiea. What do you expect? When you look past all the mokes with their«I just got off work» neon shirts, the older Aunties huddled around taking selfies, and the sometimes horrible jukebox selections, this place is NOT bad at all! They’ve even got free Wi-Fi! C’monnnnnn. I am giving this place 4 stars because their FOOD on the happy hour menu is actually pretty impressive. For a bar. In Aiea. I usually go here with my boyfriend to watch games that are being televized. I’ve even asked to change a channel to catch a game, and they tried hard to find out what network it was being shown on, until we all realized it was blacked out because it was playing too close to home. The effort was greatly appreciated. The oysters on the half shell are amazingly fresh when they have them. The butter garlic clams with garlic bread to sop up every single drop of the sauce(my favorite), is a MUST. And even the normal bar fare: the wings, burger and fries combo, etc is above average as far as taste goes. The bartenders are good. Good as in, not too friendly, but there when you need them. I, honestly, don’t drink much, but my water is never empty here. Overall, because I live so close to it, and every now and then I like to climb out of my cave and join civilization, I will return to this bar. In Aiea… again and again.

Horrible management. Went there this past weekend. Went early for an event around 4:30pm to grab some seats. We had a party of six people. It wasn’t packed. Literally pretty empty to me. A handful of people at most. Tried to get a seat, but everything was«reserved» even at the bar. Seriously, who reserves seats at the bar? Around 7pm is when it got busy and people started to fill up those«reserved» seats. This place could of been making money for the past two hours if they just sat people on a «first come, first serve» basis. We finally found«one» seat that some good patron gave to us. So pretty much all the food and drinks we did ordered was all cramped together on the bar. Needless to say, it wasn’t a great experience. Tip: probably best to go when there isn’t an event.

The food is so amazing here and I will only get one sever every time I go her name is Evolyn. She’s amazing and gives great service. They have had some great bands every time I go. They play all the great reggae, pop and oldies. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because as soon as it hits 2 am they let in people that are way to drunk and just wanna start fights besides that I really like this place.

5 stars for the food and service. I go to Chez after work once in a while for happy hour food and drinks. newest thing they have now are these $ 20 beer towers that have a tap on it. pretty cool. Food favorites include the grilled cheese & fries, roast beef sliders, garlic bread with cheese, & their homemade potato chips. Chez is also a great place to watch UH Football when they’re playing on the road. My brother and I watched all of the 2012 road games at Chez. They put the games up on all the TVs as well as a huge projection screen in the back of the bar where they darts are now and the dance floor. DISCLAIMER: Your experience at Chez may differ depending on what time and day you go there. I’ve never been there to watch live music or stayed after 9pm.

Yummy(cheap) eats & decent drinks I’m sold! Once again, my Go2plus1 and I are out and about trying happy hour places. Why you ask? cause we like to drink and eat. Okay, truth be told, we mostly drink, but still there is eating involved. I’ve glanced over a few of the ratings and noticed a lot of 1 – 3 star reviews; mostly due to the ‘ghetto-ness’ of this place. *shrug*. Perhaps, going during the week and not an a weekend between 6p,-11pm as allowed me to give a higher rating. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed anything ghetto. Then again, my Go2plus1 is from Kalihi, and I spent my childhood in Papakolea. Ghetto = Comfort for me. Notes: The bar area sometimes has«reserved» seating for specific people. The signs don’t just say«Reserved». They have the person’s name and picture(if I recall). So if you choose to take the seat… you know who’s comin’ after your ass. Drinks are reasonably priced; 5 – 6 bucks.(Unless it’s on the menu as otherwise) Service is good(perhaps it’s because we’re loud and hard to miss) (Local bar) Food options are great. They have variety of items to choose from. Keep an eye out for the Specials Menu on the wall. The music at times can be pretty loud; especially closer to the back end of the bar; I think there’s a speaker there. Overall, I find myself going back. Heck, I even find myself offering it up as an option when it comes to picking a place to kick it with a friend. Sadly, unless it’s with my Go2plus1, everyone else I suggest it to gives me the«are-you-kidding» eyes.(aka: eyes getting larger than usual, shifting side to side looking to meet eyes with someone else for validation)

Chez is one of the very few bars in Aiea. I wouldn’t say my experience here was terrible, but my server had no knowledge of the liquor selection or the bar menu. I don’t want to drop names, since we know here in the Unilocal community, we get lots of hate mail for saying someone gave horrible service or we had a bad experience at a certain establishment. After asking what their specials were and my server going back and forth to the bar to find out how much certain drinks were, we decided to just order a beer. Unfortunately, she didn’t know that the beer I ordered was out of stock as well. After figuring out our drinks, we ordered some food. And for happy hour, from 2pm-8pm(Monday — Friday), they have a really good selection for great prices. Chicken gizzards for $ 3.50; tofu $ 2; garlic fries $ 4 just to name a few. They have free wifi, darts, live music on some nights, and those casino like games. Overall, its an alright place to have a drink, but I still rather drive into town for a better experience.

I guess when you live on the westside of the island and you are looking for a place to continue your buzz because there is nothing open after 2 in the morning, Chez is the only place to go to grab a drink and also a place that can sober you up in a heartbeat. This place is as ghetto as ghetto can get. It makes Good Times look like Leave It To Beaver. When you walk into this place, it feels like you are walking down the path to the ring into a UFC match. This place is one of those places where the only eye contact you make is with the floor because the people that come here after 2 in the morning are the kind of people that wil knock you to the floor if you give them DAEYE. There are bouncers everywhere and you just gotta love a place that has NOFIGHTINGSIGNS all over the bar. That will just send chills up your spine when you see stuff like that. I am even afraid to use the bathroom in there because they might have tin cans to pee in and sandpaper ro wipe your okole with. The last time we were there, there was this Samoan lady, who would probably kick my ass from here to Samoa, who was just screaming«CHEE-HU«all the damn time and was just pushing guys in her path. Maybe she had too much Kava Kava that night because there was not one guy that even bothered to do anything after they got pushed. Who needs bouncers when you got a monster like that who could clean house. Maybe the next time i walk into this place, i’ll dress like Vili the Warrior, and maybe i could feel just like home and not have anyone bother me and have a drink in peace and worry about someone who just might crack a coconut, oops, i meant a beer bottle over my head… I just have to say, it is definitely a humbling experience when you come to this bar, because it is a sight to behold… ENTERATYOUROWNRISK… ANDDON’T SAY I TOLDYOUSO
