This place is great, is close to LA(right off 101, exit Kanan Rd), but seems so far away, remote, like you’re away on a trip. It reminds me of Cambria. Follow the signs off the freeway and you’ll get there. You’ll pass the ranch to get to the parking lot. Free(plenty) parking and you can visit the ranch for free, grab a map, explore the grounds. You can take a hike on the trail. Or bring a picnic as others suggested, I did and it was great, we had a nice meal out, in the nature. There are various spots with picnic tables. There were other people around, but not too many, they kept it to themselves, it was nice and quiet. Very relaxing, you can bring a book. Sure, there are bikers passing by, but it didn’t bother us. Across there is a bar/gastro pub with an interesting menu and a wine store/art gallery that offers wine tasting. Cool places, it’s worth checking out. If you live in LA and like exploring it, this place is a find, a little gem, away from it all. Just a cool area that makes you feel like you’re in a weekend gateway.

My best friend got married here last weekend and the spot could not be more gorgeous. This location really made me feel like I was no longer in California and at a destination wedding. I was expecting there to be more incest and am sure I got a few mosquito bites, but compared to the mosquitos in Michigan, it was bad at all. During the wedding rehearsal, it got pretty warm, but by the time the wedding started, it had cooled down. I absolutely love nature wedding locals and this is a great place that away from the city and absolutely quiet and intimate.

Totally cool place up in the woods. Nice trail to walk behind it that’s just over a mile long, perfect way to spend a saturday. Very shady and perfect for a hot day, and a cool ranch with a unique history that’s been kept in tact. Check out the huge swimming pool, once the largest in California when it had water. Performers used to perform from the center section of it, very interesting place with a lot of history. Fishing places and good food near by too, come spend a day!

Not too out of the way, wedged into the hillsides between Malibu and Agoura, there lies a park. It is a great park. Ancient oak trees shade the slopes and a colossal empty swimming pool illustrates some of the abandoned wonders around. Pack up a picnic lunch and watch the peafowl roam about while you dine in the chaparral paradise. Always plenty of parking and meandering nearby trails makes this one of my favorite places to spend a lazy Sunday.

Beautiful park with thickly wooded trails and a beautiful creek when it has water. Lots of wildlife and nice native flora, sycamores and wildflowers. Not crowded.
