I have no idea how this store is still in Business! The woman that answered the phone was beyond rude and hung up on me before I finished my sentence. I was trying to order birthday flowers for tomorrow and she was so obnoxious! So guess what? I googled the next closest florist and decided to use Flowers For in Thousand Oaks. Spoke to Sean and he was Wonderful!

Being that I am so happy with the service I received from Michael Alan Florist, I had to come give them a review. However, I am very surprised to see the previous negative comments. I’m glad i didn’t check Unilocal beforehand because I would have been discouraged from placing an order with them.
Anyway, I ordered a floral arrangement online yesterday for one of my friends who is like a sister to me to be delivered same day. Not only was it delivered the same day, but all of my special instructions were followed to the T. They even handwrote the note which I’ve never seen a floral shop do without asking (I hate to admit I forgot that part, but clearly they had me covered)!!! I am beyond happy with this shop and highly recommend it. My friend sent me a picture of the arrangement and it was GORGEOUS. All I wanted to do was make my friend smile on a tough day for her and Michael Alan Florist made it happen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Michael Alan Florist is an absolute joke — really don’t know how this place is in business. I ordered flowers to be delivered on Saturday, May 9^th (day before Mother’s Day) and said they would be delivered by 3pm. Unfortunately the flowers weren’t delivered by 3pm and there was no one for me to get a hold of to check the status. Later that night, I got a call from the delivery driver who mentioned she couldn’t deliver the flowers b/​c Michael Alan gave her the wrong address. However, she did end up finding the residence around 8pm and left them on the porch. After I spoke with the delivery driver, I told her how unhappy I was as they were supposed to be delivered by 3pm and wanted a refund. After that, she called the florist in which instructed her to pick up the flowers and bring them back to the store since I wanted a refund. So, instead of doing a good deed for a customer who spent $ 80 dollars on a dozen roses, they decided to pick up the flowers at 10pm since I asked for a refund even though they didn’t even get there on time. The next day, I received the most ridiculous text message from the delivery driver telling me why she picked up the flowers and took them back to Michael Allen. Instead of getting an apology, she went on a rant and told me how she works 3 jobs, has 2 kids and just got over a nasty divorce She then she mentioned I should tell my mother that I «love her very much» and «to not worry about the flowers». What kind of company has an employee say this to a customer? Absolutely unnecessary and better yet, I didn’t even get an apology. So today I have called Michael Alan at least 30 times and no one has answered. They don’t even have a voicemail set up so there is no way to leave a message. I just saw my account was credited which was nice b/​c I was about to call my bank and report this place. If it was possible, I would give this place negative stars and I only gave one b/​c that was the only option. This place and their employees are absolutely worthless. Don’t waste your time using them, trust me. Absolutely pathetic.
Worst experience I’ve ever had with with anyone.

I have used this florist now for the past 4 years and always received beautiful arrangements. I was, however, very disappointed the week before Valentine’s Day. I stopped twice on my way home from work (about 3:15) only to find them closed with a sign stating they’d be back after 4. I was running out of time and was forced to go elsewhere. Beautiful arrangements but poor service.

I contacted Michael Alan Florist today to request assistance in locating a specific flower & to invite them to assist with an event that I would be managing.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to the latter part of my inquiry because the woman on the phone was intensely apathetic, unprofessional & rude.
She recommended that I search online for the flower that I sought. She hung up on me when I asked if I could speak with someone else… her English was difficult to understand & I wanted to ensure that we had successfully communicated. She informed me that she was one of the owners & that if her English was a problem, then she could not assist me. This is when she hung up on me.
Local businesses are paramount to community. There are a number of lovely local florists in our area that I recommend to my friends & neighbors… Michael Alan is not one of them.

I learned of Michael Alan when a coworker of mine got flowers delivered for her birthday. I was impressed with the bouquet. Using their website I placed an order on a Monday for flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend’s school on Wednesday for her first day of class, as she’s a teacher. I come to find out that the flowers were delivered the next day, Tuesday, despite my email confirmation which said Wednesday. I wasn’t even sure my girlfriend was on campus. Luckily she was and received them.
Nonetheless, I called on Tuesday to see what they would do for me since they made a mistake. I received no apology, and they had the nerve to go back to the school to take the flowers back, intending to redeliver them the next day. My girlfriend was put in an awkward position and humiliated in front of her coworkers. In my opinion, a complimentary set of flowers should have just been sent on Wednesday. I wrote the company a letter asking for a discount, but never got a response. I won’t stop payment and I will not fight it further, but I’ve already spread word across my 500+ employee company not to use them. I definitely will not be using them again.
The quality of the flowers and vase were beautiful, but they cannot be trusted to deliver accurately. Had this been a funeral or other date sensitive event, I would have looked bad.
