Took company there while taking a leisurely drive in the country. What a delightful store! Best hamburgers w/bleu cheese we’ve had, the blueberry crisp was awesome, and the marionberry shake was out of this world! Tour the garden; it is a true labor of love. Steve and Michelle are the best. Take time to listen to their story. It is really neat!

Without a doubt one of the nicest couples that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Michele and Steve were incredible! Nice doesn’t even come close to describing them. Steve is the chef and Michele is the artist, but she also does everything else. They have stocked their country store with some of the most unique and creative gifts that you can imagine and on top of that, an unpretentious, place for some world class food. Food that is fresh from their garden and creatively transformed into yummy goodness. Here’s a tip for you… Whatever you eat there, try a sprinkle of Steve’s special pepper spice he makes from the peppers in his garden, but be light with it because it does pack a zing. We had a flat tire coming down the road and since it was pouring down rain, we were soaked through when we happened upon this gem. It was the best flat tire I have ever had! We walked through the door and we’re immediately greeted with the warmth of Michele’s friendly face, kind words, and the hypnotizing smell of Steve’s homemade soup! I simply wanted some coffee to warm up. The smells of freshly baked bread and Steve’s soup changed my mind immediately. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that this couple has got it zeroed in. Perfection! Thank you to you both and to the others in the store that made our time there so awesome. Thanks guys!

Made the old Agnes’s store our half way lunch stop on a trip with my mom on a birthday ride, what a treat! Not only do you have the mountains but also a great place to slow down and enjoy the view and visit with the friendly owners. Did I mention the fresh baked breads. After our great lunch, we left full, rested, and with bacon onion bread and chocolate and and locally crafted glass heart for mom. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy the garden and the awesome bread !

World class cheeses and breads? Some of the most unique regional gifts and sundries? In Agness?! Yes, you bet! Old Agness Store represents the best of rural Oregon through its foods and gifts. It’s rare to find so much authentic good regional stuff in one spot. Local color included! Stop by; you won’t be sorry.

Recently stopped by this quaint little store and decided to have lunch. My wife had the clam chowder, yes clam chowder. and said it was one of the best chowders ever. They served it with bacon and cheddar toast which is home made. Excellent! I had the hand pattied hamburger and again excellent. The owners are super nice, so if you are ever in this part of Oregon, do stop in and enjoy lunch.

The new owners, Steve and Michelle, have polished this rustic landmark into a gem at the end of the road! Literally, the Old Agness Store is at the end of the road, and well worth the trip. You’ll find something for everyone in the family here — homemade blackberry milkshakes, freshly baked bread, lily belle chocolates, rogue creamery cheese, and other made-in-Oregon goods of all kinds. Most of all, stop by just to recharge in this serene little spot nestled in the wilderness.
