Ohh I love this cupcake spot! I also love that they delivery for $ 5 in Addison. Their cupcakes are super tasty. They are light and fluffy and the icing is a perfect sweetness. My favorite cupcake I have tried is the cheesecake. The bottom crunch and the icing are absolutely incredible. You don’t have to be in love with cheesecake to love this cupcake. I’ve also had the vanilla bean which was pure greatness. I wasn’t a big fan of the French chocolate. It was a little dry to me, but chocolate cake isn’t my favorite in general. The lemon cake has a very fresh and light taste. I like that they have two rotating monthly cupcakes. One customer voted and one the bakery chooses. They also offer a seasonal and vegan cupcake. I can’t wait to try more of their desserts and cupcake flavors. They have excellent service and I have always been super pleased with the food.

I bought a Groupon for Mad Batter a couple months ago, but when I arrived in late April, they were temporarily closed. I returned today and although the Groupon was expired, they still accepted the full value. Located in Addison Circle, Mad Batter Baker is a pretty large shop compared to most bakeries I’ve seen. There’s a lot of seating space and the display of ready to order pastries is not big at all. They were serving the typical flavors of cupcakes, red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla. Some truffles(cake balls), muffins, quiches, cinnamon rolls, and brownies were also on display. If you visit their website you’ll see which flavors they are serving that day, but I would have expected to see more flavors on a regular basis. The cupcakes are very light and soft with a lot of frosting. You usually can’t go wrong with lots of frosting, but since the cake was so light and airy, it really was too much. The frosting can topple the cake over. The red velvet was not that flavorful, but their brownie was pretty good. It’s just not my kind of cupcake. I wish the cake part was more dense. It’s true that you can get great cupcakes and brownies just by going to your grocery store(Whole Foods has some darn good brownies), you don’t have to wait for a cute little bakery to open up on odd hours. I just don’t feel that Mad Batter is offering anything much better than the grocery store. They also make full sized cakes for special occasions, but there aren’t many pictures posted on their website or Instagram.

I guess this place is open now? So incredibly disappointed. I know I went in about 10 minutes to closing on a Saturday night, but I would expect the cupcakes they sell us to be of good quality no matter what time of day. My boyfriend said he would rather have just gone to Kroger and gotten a cupcake from there. The cake was so dryyyy. I was wary when I saw that the cupcakes were just laying out on the counter. The dry cake makes me wonder how long that cupcake had been sitting there exposed to the air. It does not seem particularly sanitary because I’m sure dust and bugs could land on the cupcakes at any time. I have made cupcakes, frosting and all, from scratch before and when I use a basic, not fancy shortening and powdered sugar frosting recipe, there’s this synthetic tang to the frosting. I tasted that synthetic tang in the red velvet cream cheese frosting. Almost like a faint play-dough-like taste, if you know what I mean. The cream cheese flavor was not that strong, which is sad because that cream cheese frosting is half of what I expect from a good red velvet cupcake. My boyfriend had this French chocolate cupcake. I didn’t try it, but he seemed very disappointed with it. He also told me his cupcake was extremely dry. Usually cupcakes make me happy, but the red velvet cupcake from here made me sad. I expected more from a professional bakery.

I’m so sad to see they have closed temporarily ! Anywho, these cupcakes were love at first BITE! I had the opportunity to try their Lavender Lemon, which is not normally on the menu. It was a special order that had some left over. AMAZZING taste, texture, and so moist ! These are better than Sprinkles ! Don’t fall for the hype ! I’ve also had their red velvet and it’s equally good ! I can’t wait until they reopen !

This is a cute little bakery. I was craving something sweet and I stopped by this bakery and picked up a few cake balls. Cake balls are just the perfect amount of dessert to satisfy my craving. I got the vanilla cake balls and they were so good! Not too overly sugar sweet, it was just the right amount of sweetness. They also sell cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other sweet desserts, in addition to a variety of different coffees.

I have been to Mad Batter on two occasions and I have been very impressed both times. For my first visit I purchased the double chocolate brownies. I ordered before I picked up the brownies, so the brownies were cooked to order; they were fresh, moist, and tasted great. On my second visit I purchased the quiche and the red velvet cupcakes. Both were delicious. I highly recommend this establishment.

Super cute bakery! Love the Alice in Wonderland theme, the décor lived up to the name of the bakery. Great job on that! The reason why I wasn’t in love with this bakery has to do with the actual cupcakes themselves. I ordered a lemon cupcake and the fiancé ordered a salted caramel cupcake. Both cupcakes unfortunately were dry and the inside was a little hard, the lemon frosting tasted extremely artificial. The salted caramel cupcake was a little better than the lemon, but not by a lot. Perhaps we came too late in the afternoon for cupcakes and those had been sitting a little longer. We will definitely come back earlier in the day and try different flavors before we decide on whether or not we want to make this a regular cupcake stop. Note: They do make wedding cakes although they do not have a printed sheet on the information. We were told we had to go online and make the appointment, and there we could look at all the flavors they had to offer. When asked about pricing, the girl wasn’t entirely sure and simply said it depends on a lot of thing. What those things are I suppose we need to look online for. Really cute décor though!

Not impressed with the cupcakes. I bought a chocolate cupcake and it was very dry, inside and out. The frosting doesn’t taste homemade(personal opinion). My coworker ordered the cinnamon cupcake and said it was dry as well.

The BEST carrot cake cupcake I’ve ever had!!! Everything here is delicious — I’ve tried several of their cupcakes so far, and the veggie quiche, and the cheddar scone! Loved it all! :) Super cute and creative décor, and best of all — it’s clean and tidy inside!

Terrible customer service. I was the only customer in the store — and from the time I walked in, paid, and left, not a single word was said to me except for when I asked a direct question. The coffee/pastry were not good enough to make me want to come back and experience that again. Definitely won’t be back.

This place is amazing! Great atmosphere, perfect location, and DELICIOUS cupcakes. The ladies were also super kind. I had the Peppermint Patty cupcake and it was no doubt the best cupcake I’ve had in Dallas. Definitely be coming back.

Sprinkles cupcake was so delicious. The cake was soft, buttery sponge and the icing was sweet and simple. I am a cupcake baker myself and am super picky and judgemental of most bakery cupcakes. They are usually prettier than they are tasty. This was not the case here. This cupcake was legit. I’ve been waiting for this place to open their doors and will be back soon!
