My go-to dish is the salad. With a base of crisp romaine, it is unfailingly colorful and fresh. It includes sautéed onions and red peppers, and you can add sautéed mushrooms and zucchini or meat. So good, and a nice size. I personally like their burritos better than the ones that seem largely adored at nearby Oscar’s in Boxborough. Sometimes they don’t heat up the kiddie burrito enough to melt the shredded cheese, but the ingredients still seem to be of high quality. The man who I believe may be the owner or manager can be a bit terse/grumpy. It’s not enough so to keep me away because I like the good and the location, but if can affect the ambience or the first impression. Overall, I am a pleased repeat customer.

Service is good but the food is awful. Everything is oily. It is mostly oil rather than food. Not worth the price. I’m glad they are willing to accommodate for vegans, though.

Being from WMass and going to school in Burlington VT, we have visited all the Bueno Y Sano locations. We moved to the Acton area 2 years ago and have been going to this location ever since. The food is always great and the restaurant is clean. The staff are friendly and our order is always correct!

Fresh ingredients and good portions with the taco special. As good as Chipotle. Love the rice and guacamole.

I have been coming to this spot for a few years on a regular basis. I would agree with the other reviews where a comparison is made with Chipotle and Qdoba but in my opinion I prefer Bueno y Sano. Ingredients are fresh, the food is always done to perfection and my order has never been messed up. My go-to’s are the steak burrito(sublime) the burrito bowl, quesadillas and soft tacos(No, not at the same time ;). Each one of the items mentioned are great and for sure, they do not skimp on the ingredients. I cant complain, the tomatillo sauce is awesome! Definitely a meal worth having :)

Bueno y Sano is a nice little chain. The food is good for mexican/tex-mex. If you’re into Chipotle or Qdoba, I think this is a nice change of scenery while not straying too, too far from what the first two restaurants offer. Ordered the fish tacos and it was above average. It wasn’t soggy and it was nicely seasoned. Also got the chicken East West burrito which has hints of Asian inspo. A little too saucy but still yummy nonetheless. Service was nice, we went around 4pm so it wasn’t packed which was great! Cleanly and chill atmosphere. Free refills on drinks and decently priced. Would definitely come back again if I’m in the neighborhood!

I ate lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and it was a very good experience! I ordered the spinach and chicken quesadilla with guac and salsa. For a small, sort of whole in the wall place, it exceeded my expectations! The flavors were great, proportions large and they had tons of other options that I wished I could have tried. I’ll be back!

Bueno y Sano is a a great place to get your Mexican fix. My favorite is the burrito bowl. Today I had the pulled pork — choice of mild, medium, hot or insane — and grilled portabella mushroom. Gluten free and very tasty. You won’t be hungry after this meal. Other offerings are traditional burritos, quesadillas and salads. My kids love the food. They also offer beer. I always find the food fresh and cooked well.

We work nearby and get takeout here at least once a week. The ingredients are fresh, and everything is delicious and cooked fresh to order. Every time we go in, I’m impressed by how efficiently they cook to order and keep any line moving.

Do you ever want to love a place before you step inside? This is what I wanted since they aren’t a chain and local. I have driven by 100’s of times and never stopped. I wish I never did! Disappointing is an understatement. We ordered 1 Steak Burrito and a Buffalo Chicken Burrito. First off burritos aren’t supposed to resemble BALLS! This was so hard to eat since it was more in the shape of a ball than a burrito. Second the vegetables weren’t cooked enough and NOTHING is worse than RAW red onions in my book. The temperature of the food was look warm at best. The prices are fair, but if you don’t care for the food and throw them out then pricing doesn’t matter.

I’m giving four stars for potential. On a par with Anna’s taqueria. The staff was polite and attentive, but for such a busy location, this place should be packed and it isn’t. My steak burrito was good, but I got the same impression that some others have reported. The place needs a business manager or it won’t make it. It makes no sense that the left 50%of the building is the office and there are no curtains and you can see into the brightly lit Windows to the storage area. I got the immediate impression that the person running it may be a cook, but doesn’t get the business end of it. It would be great if owners took the Unilocal feedback, got some curtains for the storage room, and got some business consulting so they could succeed!

One of the few places that I wish I could leave a negative star review. We were first in line and waited 10 – 15 minutes to order as the guy running the place was working on a catering order. He was dismissive and made zero eye contact.(I only ever end up here when one of my kids insists on a burrito and we are in Acton, but the service is always… ALWAYS…subpar.). Ordered my son a black bean and cheese burrito and got a giant«pod» filled with iceberg lettuce, rice and tomatoes with a few beans. My spicy burrito was blah. Chips are from a bag and stale, hot sauce is not fresh, shrimp tastes frost bitten and chicken is over cooked. I know Mexican food in New England isn’t supposed to be authentic or even very good, but it doesn’t have to be awful and service should never be this bad.

My Fish Tacos were nasty. They tasted like the fish was old or off or something. The music(loud Rap) and TV programs(guns and violence) are Not appropriate for people with kids. Come on. You’re in Acton, not Amherst. Mostly families with young kids in this town. Not coming back ever. Go to Oscars Burrito instead. Off of MA111

UMASSALUM and I am obsessed with this place. It is not«authentic» Mexican if you are looking for that… it is on par with a Chipotle(although I am not a fan of Chipotle), but on a much larger and less commercialized scale. The BBQ chicken burrito with pinto beans and sour cream is my go to. The food is excellent, comes out quick, and the service is great. I am one hole punch away from a free burrito and am a big fan and forever repeat customer.

Keeping this review short and simple. Not nearly as good as Bueno Y Sano in Amherst, but still not bad. Good tacos, good burritos. The one bad thing is the ‘Mexican yellow rice’. This is not the Mexican rice that we have all grown to love when eating authentic food… Big disappointment for me since it’s my favorite kind of rice. 3 Swords.

This place makes great gringo burritos. If you like Moe’s or Chipotle, you’ll probably enjoy this place. They throw a bunch of rice, bean, meat and veggies into a tortilla and call it a meal. The portions are really huge and filling. The flavors are weak and blend together. I was hoping for a more authentic Mexican burrito experience, this was not that.

My food was superb. I received my chilli burrito with yellow rice and black beans in a timely manner. The place was clean and, the cashier was friendly. i cant say the place is pricey being that its close to a wendys combo price. The food was in large portion, i love that. Its a top choice for me when im in the area. By far the closes i can get to El paso, Texas.

Pretty solid Mexican Food option for the area. Quick service relatively tasty grub all the way around. The drawbacks are parking and seating — both are very limited and because it’s right across the street from the local high school /middle school the place gets inundated at lunch hours so it’s tough to get in and out of the place. If you can get in is say give it a shot.

There is no Mexican food to be found here. It’s californicated but not even done well. Flavors fall flat as they use far too much ribbed romaine lettuce for fill. The whole beans have zero flavor and are dry like the rice. The sauce is like catsup mixed in sour cream. Nasty. I also ordered sautéed jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese, I think that mushrooms were supposed to be in them but they didn’t exist. They were not sautéed as described but raw, have you ever bit into a raw jalapeño? I took a bite and threw them in the trash. What a disappointment. Never going back there.

I met some friends at Bueno Y Sano for dinner tonight– none of us had been before. I skimmed over the menus which offered a lot of variety from tacos to burritos to salads. I quickly ruled out burritos simply because I don’t like rice and beans– but both my friends ordered burritos & said they’d come back again! I decided on a «stuff your own quesadilla»… I asked for Shrimp & Mushrooms– I also had noticed that another menu item had bacon in it, so I asked if I could add that! The ratio of shrimp: mushrooms:bacon:cheese was perfect! The pico de gallo was delicious but could have been served as a bigger portion for the size of quesadilla. I ordered a side of guacamole and that came in a heaping dish but could have used some added spice(garlic, onion). Overall– our meal was delicious and the atmosphere was quiet & inviting for a «fast food» atmosphere. I’d go back!
