This is a gorgeous hidden gem north of Abiquiu, next to the Dar Al Islam mosque and education center who owns it. With stunning rock formations(think Lord of the Rings) the views will take your breath away. The walk from the parking lot is only ¼ mile on a dirt and rock path. The road to this place is a bit of a challenge so make sure it hasn’t been raining too much — the road could easily flood. You don’t need an appointment with the mosque to go to the site but it’s closed to visitors on weekends. Check the website for detailed directions to the place as it does not appear on google maps and it’s a bit of an adventure.
