Luke’s Cafe

My husband and I go to Luke’s often. The food is always good and I love their chips! We also love the atmosphere.

What a find! Everything was delicious and you could tell it was really fresh. Hamburgers were a big hit. The crab cake had very little filler — just crabmeat.

We were visiting relatives and went into Abingdon to see the town. While there we wanted to eat local and found Luke’s. Very cute establishment with awesome food. We ordered the house salad which was a good sized portion. Another party member ordered the strawberry and bacon salad with chicken instead of bacon (because of lack of bacon love). Our other party member ordered the meatloaf sandwich with homemade potato chips. We were all extremely happy with the food and service provided. I highly recommend it to anyone. Very reasonable prices too! My daughter also tried fried green tomatoes for the first time and of course we all had to try and all of us loved them!

If the subject of local restaurants comes up in conversation, I always ask «Have you tried Luke’s?» If they say no, then I say go the first chance you get. I would describe the menu as a new take on classic diner fare. I have yet to eat something from there and not thoroughly enjoy it. I recommend Fish Tacos or the Marinated Burger, and the sweet potato fries with barbecue sauce.

This is in the a where I grew up… Very unique for the area. I got a chili slaw dog, and all the dogs are all beef, wrapped in bacon and deep fried! It was so big, you can’t even pick it up! The homemade chips were awesome as well!
Hubby got the Santana burger, aspicy burger with fresh jalapeño, ghost chili cheese sauce, grilled onions, on an inn roll and sweet potato fries. All the burgers are 8 oz, fresh, all natural beef. It had a bite but not like you would expect.
My only reason it wasn’t 5 stars, is it is a bit pricey for that area, but they do a 15% military discount!

Was driving through Abington on a road trip and stopped at Luke’s for dinner.
Friendly staff, great ambiance. Found out the Luke not only designed the menu but made all all the art on the walls alerted tables too! So cool.
Had the egg rolls, pimento cheese bacon burger, and the Chocolate blueberry cobbler.
Everything was delicious. If I lived near by, I’d be back for more.

I don’t usually take the time to give a review, on Unilocal.But this is an exception. This was by far, one of the best dining experiences I have had in a while. The service was great. But the food really topped it off. Just regular American fare, but it was fresh, well made, and you could really tell that the usual shortcuts that chefs take we’re not even considered. Something as simple as sweet potato waffle fries were the talk of the table. Keep up the good work Luke’s! And everyone in A-​town get our and support this great local biz!

The lone veg item on the menu was quite good. black bean burger and homemade chips.
Not a bad choice considering I’m passing through the middle of nothing but a fast food wasteland…

I called in am order yesterday after being on the road most of the day and Luke’s is about 30 minutes from home. I called them and asked them to give me a brief description of the menu. I wanted something quick so I ordered a couple bacon wrapped hot dogs. The hot dog comes with chips and I requested to upgrade to a side of fries and forget the chips and the waitress said that was no problem but there would be a slight charge. I placed my order and just made my first mistake — I did not ask about pricing. Upon arriving my order was prepared, waiting and for 2 hot dogs with chilli and mustard and fries and my bill was $ 13.08. The hot dogs where not bacon wrapped but they did offer to redo the order but I was ready to get home and I declined their offer. The hot dogs were tasty, chilli was good but you had to use a knife and fork to eat them because you could not pick either one up by the bun. They charged full price for the 2 hot dog /​chip menu items and full price for the side of fries although my order was improperly prepared and minus 1 side of chips. I do not care to pay for a premium hot dog but this was a $ 2.00 — $ 2.50 hot dog! As I said earlier, I made the mistake of not asking about pricing and lesson learned!

Just stopped in for a late lunch to break up the monotony of a long drive. Fantastic choice! The interior was clean and funky and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My black bean burger was delicious, with white cheddar, fresh tomatoes and avocado. The chips were homemade and amazing. It was though to skip dessert: two different cheesecakes made right down the road and some homemade strawberry cobbler. I would definitely swing back through!

I had the crab cakes, which were a special, and they were perfection. I tried my friend’s chicken salad croissant… it was also amazing. We had the strawberry cobbler for dessert. I was thoroughly impressed with the food here.

I had the black bean burger and it was the best I had in the area. It included a fruit garnish that was very welcome. The prices are just right and you’ll find just about everything under 10, but what isn’t will be worth it judging from what I had. The service staff was on top of it and very friendly. I really liked this place.
