JC Penney- Boulevard at Box Hill

I rarely go to J.C. Penney, but I needed a dress for a friend’s birthday lunch cruise. Farrah & Sophia were so helpful & amazing! Not only will I go to the store again because the dress was perfect, but mostly because of how sweet & helpful these girls were for me! I don’t go out much, but when I do I will go back looking for them! They were friendly & patient with me while I tried to find matching, but comfortable shoes for the dress! I was nervous and wanted to look nice for my friend’s birthday. Very nice girls, great customer service! They made my day! #Farrah #Sophia #thankyou

Been here 2 or 3 times. It’s a clean, new location. I’m not a big fan of Penney’s in general, and this location exhibits a lot of the flaws of the chain. Penney’s and other similar chains have gotten too diversified in their offerings over the years and don’t really have a good selection of anything as a result imo.
So, emergency situation, need a dress for a last minute party, sure I’ll shop here. The proper section of the store is easy to find, the racks are fairly well organized, and it’s clean and bright and feels nice inside. I don’t really appreciate having to wait as long as I did at the register (it always seems to be the case that department store registers are severely understaffed), but it’s not uncommon for department stores so can’t hold it against them too much.

Sephora inside’s selection is minimal. Don’t feel the need to shop here again.

This is a newer location, back in the area in Abingdon that is developing quickly behind Wegmans. We came out this way because I was looking for interview clothes and shoes, and this is across the street from Abgingdon’s DSW as well.
The racks are all organized well, clearly labeled and easy for me to see what I want to try on. The store layout overall is good as well between the different departments. They had a decent sale with a 15% off coupon.
I enjoy Penney’s for work clothes because they have outfits that are age appropriate without feeling like I’m dressing like I’m 20 or dressing like I’m 60.

For a new store i would think the sales staff would act more professional, the checkout line had at least 8 young women working the counter. After standing there watching them talk and joke around, some looking like they were in a trance. Finally someone said NEXT IN LINE. There was no line.

JC Penny’s has taken a hit lately, with many analysts questioning the long-​term viability of the venerable department store chain. New management drove JCPs away from constant sales to «everyday low prices», and frequent customers did not like the new direction. But it seems that Penny’s has taken a step in the right direction — rebranding JCP into a more upscale store that is looking to compete more with Kohl’s than Sears, but bringing back some of their great sales.
And this rather new stand-​alone JCP is symbolic of that transition. Unlike the mall JCP’s, this one is a bit scaled down in size, but extremely upscale and clean on the interior. As a stand-​alone store in a new, slightly upscale shopping center in Abingdon, it’s obvious that they are going after the Kohl’s market here. As expected, home and kitchen items are over-​priced (like Kohl’s) but you can find some nice deals on clothes. My wife bought 3 tops, a pair of pants, and a polo and 2 pair of sunglasses for me for about $ 80.
This is a well-​designed and organized store that will make you never want to go to a mall Penny’s again.

This JC Penney’s is Brand Spanking new!!! It is just like any other JC Penney’s department store chain, but this is the first one in the Abingdon area that is a stand alone shop.
Lots of lot parking, esay access, beautifully set up.
Gorgeous interior!!!
