Super cheap and good quality! I went in with my mom and we went on a baked goods buying spree. We got everything we thought looked good and the grand total was like $ 8. I was blown away. I thought we had just purchased $ 20 worth of stuff. Everything tasted good too. Give this bakery your business!

Officially my favorite sweet tooth stop shop in town. First time visit today after having one of my pregnancy cravings for something sweet and fluffy. Picked out thumbprint cookies, sugar cookies, a cream puff, a cupcake, and 2 oatmeal cookies(I chose those for my husband). Immediately started to dig in once I got back in the car and OHMYGOODNESS these are DELICIOUS. My favorite item is the cream puff. The creamy vanilla custard protected by a thick layer of crunch able goodness topped with powered sugar– not to mention bang for your buck! Great stuff! They also have cakes ready to go and have a lunch menu as well. It’s small but hey they’re known for their baked goods. Prices are great and affordable. If you want to use your debit or credit card, make sure your order totals above $ 5. Overall, a pleasant quick experience concluding with amazing taste and texture of their items. Check them out!

My fiancé and I ordered petit fors for our Engagement Party from McKay’s. I placed the order at the 14th Street location to be picked up at the Cypress location. On the day of the event, I completely forgot to pick them up and they helpfully reminded me. The petit fors were the hit of the party, and McKay’s offered to do some calligraphy at no extra cost on top of them to make them even more special. Thank you, McKay’s! If we are ever back in Abilene, we will definitely swing by!

This bakery is awesome. They made my daughter’s birthday cake this year. She wanted a space themed cake. They did an okay job on the decoration… not what we were expecting, but the cake flavor(red velvet) and texture was out of this world! They always have lots of selections in their display case. My favorite is the half chocolate and half vanilla cookies!

Walk in and find a number of cakes decorated and ready to go! Also — plenty of tasty cookies — at 50 cents each you can afford to eat all you want! From the soft and sweet«honey slices» to the buttery, shortbread«pecan dumplings» — your sweet-tooth will be satisfied!

The old McKays used to be full of old charm, delicious pastries, and good customer service. Not so with the new owners or management or whatever has changed. Like most bakeries, the product often looks better than it tastes and I was sad to say, McKays did not dissapoint on that front. The cake we ordered tasted like it could have been made by my 6 year old niece and Duncan Hines. It looked nothing like the picture and when questioned about it, the African American lady behind the counter(who needs a personality and a good course in behind the counter skills) yanked the paper out of my hand(classy) and proceeded to call her manager where I couldn’t hear what was being said(wow). We have been coming here since I was a child, but it looks like that is going to change. It is simply not worth the money or dealing with the snotty and unfriendly attitude.

Just like the store on S. 14th, lots of YUMMY stuff. Perfect place to ruin your diet, or have a sandwich if you are downtown.

Thumb print cookies are a must have from McKay’s when I’m in town. Full of nostalgia and perfectly baked treats.
