Best Western Abilene Inn & Suites

The staff was very friendly but I requested a none smoking room that stuck with cigarette smoke. Plus the aircondio was was horrible the room felt like an Ben with it on full blast. Honestly if all the other hotels weren’t already full I would have canceled my reservation and switched

My family and I stayed here overnight to be close to our family member in the hospital. The staff was friendly upon check-​in and got us our room quickly. Our room was very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and they even had the extra pillows that we requested upon reserving the room inside of the room. All appliances worked great (TV, lamps, iron, hair dryer, microwave, mini fridge). The bathroom was spacious and well stocked. The room itself was very quiet even though the hotel is located directly off if I-​20. We had a fast checkout the next day. I would highly recommend this location and would stay here again if we ever had to come back to Abilene. The absolute only thing I would suggest to this hotel is to add more fabric softener to their towels. They were a little rough. But seriously for the great rates this hotel has, you just can’t go wrong staying here.

We took a chance on this hotel and were pleasantly surprised.
When our route changed at the last minute, we were forced to start looking for a hotel in Abilene late in the day. Normally we would stay in newer construction such as Holiday Inn Express, but because of a sporting event all of our first choices were full.
As I said, we were pleasantly surprised. Although this is an older property, it has been well maintained and recently updated. Our room was large, clean and well appointed with a hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave and a refrigerator. I was wearing a Harley Davidson shirt and the desk clerk even offered up a discount since I was a HOG member.
We will likely try other Best Western locations because of our experience here.

Had an issue with this location but they made it right.

Tried to get a room here for my sister and her husband and they put it in her husbands name. Then when he decided not to come, they didn’t let my sister check in because she wasn’t «Aaron» even though they have the same last name. So I had to call 5 different people to change the reservation, then, when I SPECIFICALLY asked for a NO-​SMOKING room (because my 1 year old nephew was there too) they put her in a SMOKING room!!!
So I just canceled the reservation. Not worth it. Worst service ever. We decided to just stay at the Hampton Inn, and it’s been quite wonderful.

Very clean hotel and very friendly staff. Easy access to I 20 and a convenience store next door. Big bonus and I know this doesn’t apply to all but it has a good amount of big truck parking.

For you Interstate travelers, here is what you need to know:
1. The hotel is located immediately off the freeway. Perfect location, especially if you have no interest or need to enter Abilene. But if you need access to Abilene, it is just a few minutes in, on the other side of the highway.
2. Rooms are tidy and fairly modern. Towels are just slightly rough, but the bed sheets are not going to scratch you to death while you sleep. Also, do not expect fancy amenities. If you are familiar with the Best Western line, consider this as the base level of comfort.
3. The hotel does serve the standard Best Western breakfast — funny-​shaped eggs for everyone! There is even a darling little eating area out near the front entrance. Small, but sufficient.
4. There is a pool, and there is also an exercise room on site (with a few machines and weights). The pool faces a gas and convenience station that appears to be open at all hours.
5. Rooms seem to be exclusively king beds or two queen beds. The room we took with two queen beds ran $ 100, pre tax, and was sizable. Came with a fridge in the room, a small sofa and a flat screen television. Very, very comfortable for a quick overnight stay.
6. There is an AC and heating unit — wall unit. Heating has a slight tinge, but the smell is not overwhelming.
7. You get copies of USA Today with your stay.
8. WIFI is free.
About the staff: Did not get the warm welcome typical of Best Western. But, honestly, the person who checked us in looked like she was on her third consecutive double shift. Morning staff was a bit more accommodating.
That’s it! I would not stay at any other hotel in this region, especially given some of the reviews for the majority of the nearby competitors.

Standard Best Western, clean, well laid out, and they DID send me to Lytle’s for a steak! Plus the access of I 20 is super easy, right off the on ramp. That being said, the room was very quiet. Would stay again.
