Had breakfast here with friends and fam. Always busy, you have to seat yourself, keep your eye out for tables coming available. Friendly staff, huge omelets, tons to choose from.

Love this place and the staff. They are down to earth good people serving up yummy breakfast and lunch foods. Lots of variety and choices to fill your belly! Craft your own basic breakfast or omelet. Try the daily specials or stick with your favorite. Once you’ve gone a few times they start to remember you and your preferences. They treat you like family. The only downfall… They close at 2:00 daily.

YMMV, my experience was very positive here, no trouble finding a place to sit, even at 10am on a Saturday. It’s clean and has friendly staff, good food. It’s got kind of a 50s diner vibe to it, which is nice. Coffee was good. I’d definitely come back here for breakfast anytime.

Great place for breakfast. I’ve never eaten here for any other meal. My grandson considers this our breakfast spot when we go out for that meal. Great eggs, choice of various hash browns or grits, choice of bacon or sausage, toast/biscuit. Good coffee. Wish they had grapefruit juice.

Better breakfast places to choose from. Food served on plastic plates, it took them a few minutes to bring silverware, in the meantime we were sitting there while our food gets cold. Servers were very friendly, but that’s not enough to get me to return. Too many other options in the area.

Wow. The steak sucks. The service is okay(the locals get more attention and we were kept waiting for a several minutes). The eggs are okay, but I cook better at home(and I’m a pretty crappy cook). The french toast was pretty bleh. The bacon was good(it’s hard to mess up bacon). The ambiance is good. I like the car embedded in the roof outside. I think it’s the ambiance that enamors folks. But the steak was a poor cut and poorly cooked. I tried to eat it, really I did, but I had to spit several bites out because I couldn’t eat it(and my partner couldn’t stand it either). Bleh.

We had a great breakfast here. Omelets were well cooked and had lots of filling. Biscuits were light and delicate(they split and grill them after baking). Grits and hash browns were both very good. Service was friendly and FAST. Recommend.

I’m visiting my Dad, a local, and he selected this place for my first breakfast in town. I had the Around the World omelette, and my dad had the grits, eggs and bacon. The coffee is very strong, as noted by a previous reviewer. The food was delicious(which is not surprising given the butter factor.) The menu had lots of options, and they executed our two special requests well: crispy hash browns for me, crispy bacon for dad. The ambiance is fun: red and white diner-stable seating with a black-and-white checked floor. Lots of fun tchotchkes on the walls to keep you entertained. Definitely a solid choice for breakfast. Easy parking in their private lot. Easy to find.

Hands down best breakfast in Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. I’ve lived in the area for 5 years and this is where I take family and friends. Big portions and reasonable prices.

I’m a frequent customer @ Sizzlin Steak or Eggs, and have been since I was a child(all of 20 years ago, lol). It has a wonderful diner feel to it, great prices on food, good food, but the waitress I had last time should’ve held it together a bit more. I’ve been a waitress off and on for 8 years now. I understand feeling bad if you get stiffed, or taking a moment in the bathroom to just breathe if your having a bad day. But when my boyfriend and I came to eat there, this waitress was cussing like I’ve never seen before because she got a $ 3 tip on a 4 person table. It made us feel uncomfortable the whole time we were there. She had apologized, but still didn’t have the best attitude towards us(which wasn’t fair at all, especially since I normally tip 25−30% if they’re good and make us feel welcome… which wasn’t the case). Other than the waitress, everything else was great and usually is.

Their new location will be at the FORMERELCHAPALA so be ready for that because this review may not survive here much longer. For a typical southern breakfast, this is above your expectations. This is a true breakfast place for the area that has been around for quite some time. I always get the breakfast plate that is roughly $ 5 which includes Eggs, Biscuit, Bacon and Grits if memory serves well. It is an excellent dish but eaten everyday could also give you a heart attack too. One of the things to note about this place is the service is incredibly good but also unorthodox for southern standards as it is friendly but has a fast paced attitude too. Coming in with sarcasm and a sense of humor will be bonus points for your server. Secondly, they use S&D Coffee out of Concord(outside of Charlotte) which will promise you a good cup of coffee if you are not the Starbucks type that likes strong coffee. S&D is similar to Dunkin Donuts. I highly recommend this place for breakfast for locals, travelers and anyone who wants a very good breakfast for a good price.
