(1) ~ Probably the worst Dunkin Donuts we’ve been to… they were out of everything that was being advertised, and the coffee tasted burnt as if it was just sitting on the hot plate for many hours:(

I wish I could give this venue 0 stars. By far, the worst DD that I’ve ever been to for many reasons. Overall, the service was painstakingly slow, and the employees were definitely unapologetic about it. There were no extra packets of sweetener on the counters as seen in every other DD. So when they inevitably messed up your order, it was your call as to whether or not you wanted to wait 5 minutes for them to acknowledge you for a pack of splenda. The munchkins were so unbelievably disgusting. I’ve had munchkins at over 100 DDs at least, and they’ve ranged from deliciously fresh to irritatingly stale. NEVER have they been so moist that they made a squishing raspberry noise when you grabbed them out of the bag. I couldn’t eat the chocolate ones without forgetting what they really looked like(something I can’t say without keeping it PG for this review). The plain one I did eat was very wet and soaked(like someone had it in their mouth for a few minutes before giving it to you). The most annoying part(that the franchise owner should be ashamed of themselves for doing) is charging customers 50 cents for one squirt of calorieless flavor syrup in their coffee. Every other DD I have been in– from Long island to many in Manhattan to Albany, NY to all over the NY Hudson Valley– has never charged for this! And the owner must have a lot of gaul to charge such an exorbitant price for something of such little value. A terrible DD experience with some of the rudest DD employees I’ve ever encountered. …I can’t wait to visit a DD at home that actually puts out some quality products with kind, approachable staff.

This Dunkin’ Donuts is located in the Maryland House travel plaza on I-95. Recently renovated, the whole places is large and clean, and Dunkin’ Donuts is no exception. They are geared for high volume, and had no problems processing the large amount of travelers when we stopped there on a busy June Sunday. At busy times, they do have two lines for incoming foot traffic, and as with theme parks always take the one on the left if you’re in a hurry. The food and coffee is good, if incidental. When you’re travelling you just want something quick and easy, but I’m glad they have several healthy options. And I do actually like their coffee.
