This is the place to go for a nice, table-service restaurant in Abbeville. The food is incredible, the service is great, and the deserts are some of the best I’ve ever had!

Came in for lunch… again! Whenever I’m anywhere near Abbeville, it’s where I end up, regardless of any plans to the contrary! I had one of the blue plate specials: Grilled Scottish Salmon over Fresh Vegetables, with a spinach-artichoke cream sauce! Delicious! The salmon was full of flavor and not the least bit dry! The veggies were a colorful medley of roasted(or maybe flat grilled) veggies that still had good texture, with plenty of buttered flavor! And that sauce, over the salmon was perfect, with plenty of flavor, with a hint of dill, but not overpowering the salmon. Desert was their homemade Amaretto Chocolate Cake, with 3-layers frosted with Amaretto Chocolate ganache & Amaretto buttercream! Love this place!

The Grill is definitely Abbeville’s best restaurant. Bill and Molly have found a great balance of standard fare(kicked up a notch) and succulent high end dishes. And by all means do yourself a favor and save room for one of Molly’s homemade desserts.

Locals eat at the village grill! We love it, and they love us. Always great service, we have been going for 11 years now and have never had an issue. They buy produce from our friends at the farmers market. Really great cooks. We love their burgers, the quesadilla can be a meal, salads are great! If you aren’t counting calories the pastas are fabulous.

Awesomeness. If your palate has an aptitude, it will tell you that there is nothing in a 50 mile radius that compares to this fine diner. The food is tested and well prepared and is priced appropriately so everyone can afford good food, creatively prepared. One of my newly discovered items that is only available on Wednesdays is Molly’s Spaghetti. They make their own fresh italian sausage for the sauce. I typically avoid ordering pasta bc it usually has a puddle of water at the bottom. Not this. It’s my new favorite here and only available in Wednesdays. Other chalkboard specials are also creatively prepared and available for a 2 week rotation. Check out their Facebook page and their web page for all current updates. I’m so happy to be a customer of this fine establishment. It has been consistently awesome for nearly 20 years for me. This is one of the few restaurants that hasn’t ever let itself get into the rut of being the same and boring, especially after a 20+ year run.

This place is pretty darn awesome. I recently moved to the Abbeville area and this was the second restaurant I ate at. It has a nice modern feel to it. while still retaining an air of historic significance – like most of downtown Abbeville, I feel. We were there for dinner. There was a wedding going on next door in the space where the farmer’s market is held but we didn’t hear anything from it which surprised me. The waitstaff were helpful and courteous but not smothering. I enjoyed my hamburger(I’ve learned from my many travels to order something ‘safe’ the first time around… if they can’t make a freakin’ burger, then maybe they shouldn’t be cooking at all.) It was tasty. and dessert – you know you’re happy with the place when you go ahead and order dessert. ok, when IIII order dessert, you know that’s the case. My friends ordered something called Cashew Butter Pie. I’m not a huge fan of nuts, but my gosh. That pie was to die for. Even still, having ordered the ice cream, I was pretty satisfied. For something so simple, it was very tasty. You can tell they try… and they’re succeeding.

If you don’t like chicken, don’t go for lunch unless you want a hamburger. Getting a house salad. Very disappointed after reading reviews. Would not return.

The best restaurant in town, but not for foodies. Homemade bread has no yeast flavor or other yummy flavor. I bake my own, so I don’t understand why theirs was so tasteless. We had the fettuccine with grilled chicken and prosciutto; the chicken was dry(not brined first) and the Alfredo is boring. Honey mustard bacon burger was delicious(juicy flavorful meat). However, they just glaze the meat with the honey mustard, so you can’t actually taste mustard, and it is extra $ for a side of honey mustard — lol! The fries were great. Cashew butter pie was pretty good. Service is great!!! Nice atmosphere with a nice menu selection.

Love the Village Grill! Great food, always consistent quality, great desserts! The atmosphere is nice, especially in the bar. I live in Augusta, GA and I make frequent trips to Abbeville just so I can eat at The Village Grill. It’s that good. The Unilocal page is wrong, they DO have wifi

Damn good food. Try any of the salads, soups, or specials; they’ll make your mouth water and your stomach sing Glory Hallelujah. The ribs are some of the best I’ve had in this part of the state, and I’d gladly drive 100 miles for the privilege of wrapping my kisser around one of those bad boys. And don’t even get me started on the desserts; they’re slap-your-mama call-the-cops out-of-this-world delicious. Great service too. And to top it all off– they hang this week’s funnies on a bulletin board over the urinal in the men’s room. Hey Unilocal, why can’t I give this place a sixth star?

I chanced to stop in Abbeyville over the holidays and had a wonderful dinner at the Village Grill. Without a doubt I had one of the tastiest dishes that I’ve ever eaten, and it was a special on the menu: «Sauteed ‘wild caught’ jumbo domestic shrimp with artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and grape tomatoes, with lemon dill butter sauce over linguini.»(At each table they post a chalk tablet where they write their specials on — so I copied it down because it was so damn good). The lemon dill butter sauce was heaven on earth. It tasted like the most sumptuous alfredo sauce in the world, and it would’ve gone great on anything. It was paired nicely with the shrimps, veggies and linguini. The dish also came with a half slice of garlic bread which was buttery, and crispy — great for sopping up that wonderful sauce. For dessert I tasted their cashew butter pie and their grand marnier crème brûlée. I thought the crème brûlée was excellent, smooth and silky. The cashew butter pie was also tasty, a bit unusual, but still good. The venue is nice, just a few steps away from the town square, and the décor is appealing. On the wall across from me was a row of framed movie posters of D grade horror movies from the 50’s and 60’s. Pretty cool. A great find of a restaurant, and a definite recommend to any who stops in the area.
