Bernibrooks Inn

Have stayed at Bernibrooks twice and can give it the highest recommendation. Great host, great food, a wonderful historic town to explore. About the only negative is that Abbeville is a little far from a major highway, but that can’t be blamed on the host.
One of the hidden gems of South Carolina and I mean both the Inn and the town itself.

I had the pleasure of staying here on a recent trip to the area. Karen was a wonderful host and the highlight of my day was the 3 course breakfasts she made me — how can your day go wrong after that! I was the sole guest during my 3 day 2 night stay there so felt like I had the whole top floor to myself. The house is an old structure but Karen has made it a cosy and comfy home away from home. My room was well-​furnished with a nice size bed and fireplace seating area. This room also had a nice big tub in the bedroom space as well as a doored bathroom with shower. The balcony opened out to views of the street. Nice big spaced room with lots of windows/​shades, light and a fan too. No TV here but you do have uninterrupted wifi. Parking is on a lot just across the street and the location is great — this is the closes B&B to the square where all the shops and restaurants are located. Nice quiet neighborhood but still close to historic attractions. Guests can be entertained in the living area downstairs. You get a key to enter and exit the inn as you wish. Fridge on the upper level has water and soda aplenty. Towels, toiletries provided and Karen has lived in the area long enough to provide any info, etc. My stay was pleasant and enjoyable. The quiet and calm provided for some much warranted writing time for me. Rates are really cheap and rooms can be booked over the phone with Karen.

Great B&B. The owner is a very pleasant person who makes you feel at home. She serves an amazing breakfast; it is not the usual bacon and eggs. We have found breakfast conversation with other guests to always be very relaxed and enjoyable.
The price is very reasonable for what you get.
The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very clean and attractive. We have stayed in other B&Bs and this one surpasses all the others. When we are in Abbeyville, this is our B&B of choice. I always look forward to our stay in Bernibrook Inn.
