Enjoyable lunch at this small Spanish restaurant in Toledo. Located among the tiny, narrow streets, we only found this place by chance after visiting the El Greco museum. The sopa de mariscos and especially the sopa de ajo de castellano were tasty. Next up was deer stew served with a pile of fries which was very nice as well. Service was very friendly and prices very reasonable. A good place to come for lunch if you can find it. Also, if eating outdoors in Autumn, watch out for wasps buzzing around.

Gayle and I have 2 different Tourist styles. I like to do my Tour Book research up front and«march» through the day for as long as I can, and see as many places as possible. Gayle likes to see fewer sights and do more hanging out and talking to the various people we encounter on our travels. Our stop for Lunch here at Bar La Serra had more to do with being tired and hungry, Rick Steves be damned and«Look, Here’s a Decent Looking Place!» You won’t find Bar La Sierra in any Tour Book(that I know of) and I’m sorry we missed some amazing culinary experience while we were in Toledo for the day. I had one of the Paella’s(which was probably pre-prepared), and Gayle’s choice is now lost on both of us. What we do remember is that we enjoyed our lunch, the mug was large and the beer was cold, Bar La Sierra’s Patio was comfortable and with a nice Toledo street view, the service was just fine, and it was nice to relax and talk. And sometimes in the middle of the Tourist Day, that’s all you want and need.
