This is a resort catering to British vacationers and their families. We are, so far, the only Americans in sight. True story: We ordered drinks at an on-site restaurant, El Rincon, and they came, along with a dish of peanuts. At the bottom of the dish we saw ashes. In short, they served us from a dirty ashtray. I am disappointed in this restaurant. The resort is fine, clean, attractive, and well-maintained, just far removed from the experience of actually being in Spain. I say this as someone who stayed in Torremolinos back in ’85, and this is my first return trip to Spain. But be advised, you must travel beyond the confines of the MacDonald Resort to get an authentic Spanish feel, as opposed to the transplanted Little Britain that exists here.
