Cal Tatano

One word: fantastico! Cal Tatano is a hidden gem 30 min away from Barcelona city. We were traveling to Barcelona and we heard from this restaurant in the mountains in a village called Orrius. Since we had a car we planned a day trip to the Costa brava with a stop at Cal Tatano. The trip to the restaurant is very scenic and you drive through green valleys and mountains. The village Orrius is very cute and friendly. Cal Tatano is Catalan for horse stable. They transformed a stable into an authentic and beautiful restaurant right next to their house. From the very first minute you feel like you are a part of the family. The restaurant is busy with mostly locals, but the waiters speak English and also the menu is available in English. Here you get the freshest fish directly from the sea market and prepared to perfection. If you like paella, fresh fish, lobster and clams, this is the place to go. They also do BBQ with huge steaks. The portion are big and extremely cheap. In Barcelona you would pay the triple for less quality. This amazing experience is completed by the staff which is mostly family and you can feel that they put their heart into it. I would give 10 stars if possible. See you next summer! Fins aviat

Me encanta la calidad/​precio de este restaurante, sus platos son siempre de 10. Si pasáis por allí no dejéis de probar el pulpo a la brasa o la paella, es deliciosa! Y si sois mas de carne os recomiendo su filete o entrecôte, hechos al gusto. Cal tatano tiene de todo y para todos los gustos. Un must si estáis cerca de Barcelona!
