Merenderi Christina

Christina on the beach has always been our go to place for fresh fish or seafood while we stayed at the Marriott on the Costa del Sol enhanced by the lapping waves of the Meditteranian only a few feet away… it normally doesn’t get better than this. Having dined at Christina at least 9 or 10 times, I had never been disappointed until tonight .As usual the anchovies in vinegar were flawless… I ordered 4 large prawns including 2 pinkish langoustine Cigalas and 2 scarlet Carabinaros… Unfortunately I found that this particular selection of prawns was not fully satisfying because of a relatives sparseness of «prawn meat» and a slight bitterness in the preparation… Having been to Christina multiple times I can say that I’ve never had this experience before… Hopefully I’m not being too critical, but nevertheless, that is my general impression. Moreover the waiters seemed a bit rushed making it quite difficult to attract their attention. It took a great deal of effort to get the dessert menu and finally our bill. We will certainly return since Christina’s has always been 4 to 5 stars in my book. Hopefully, this will be a «one time» flawed experience… My rating for Christina tonight is three stars, but normally I would give Christina 4 to 5 stars based on my previous dining experience… Bottom line is that you cannot rely on location alone.
