Max Madrid

This restaurant is open late as per usual in Madrid. We arrived around 10ish pm with Max in his stroller. It is a huge restaurant with dark wood décor suited to dates and casual business gatherings. Tonight there were a a few couples and a large group of business associates who looked like well-​dressed gangsters.
Of course, we sat next to the gangsters. Still it was pretty quiet. First thing to say is that not many babies comes here so there are no baby high chairs. But there’s plenty of room for strollers so we parked Max by our table. Later in the night we untethered him so he could roam around the bench seating where we were sat.
The food here is a combination of tapas style appetizers and bistro entrees like secret pork lion, fish, beef cheek, etc. I ordered the latter which was a good size and didn’t need any side dishes. It was topped with stewed onion and a flower… possibly edible. This is an affordable high-​end restaurant and a change from the tapas cafes which we’d been dining at before.
The service was good and the kitchen was quick, although it was a quiet night.

Fuimos a cenar y me sorprendió bastante ya que creía que no me iba a molar demasiado… pues me encanto.!! Croquetas de setas, crujiente de cebolla caramelizada queso y guacamole recomendado!

Enjoyed a great meal here in Madrid with my friend on the last night of a two week adventure in Portugal and Spain. Good selection of both modern and traditional tapas. Nice wine list. We ordered one of the less expensive Rioja (la cañas) — I would definitely recommend it. For our meal, we had the bread with tomatoes (pan tomate), fried rolls with avocado, cheese, and honey, and the seafood and pork paella. The tomato bread and paella were the best. Many other things on the menu and at other tables looked delicious as well! Finally, this was my second time in Madrid and this was one of the best paellas I’ve had. Our waiter was friendly and helpful — offering recommendations on how much and what too order. Really nice ambience too — with fun music playing.

El local está genial decorado con un toque muy moderno y buen ambiente musical.
Si bien no es un sitio para ir con prisa porque el servicio resulta un poco lento, por lo demás nos gusto mucho la comida y la relación calidad-​precio.
El detalle de poner pan de distintos tipos (el de frutos secos esta riquísimo) y un plato de aceite para mojar mientras que preparan los primeros platos, es ideal para los comensales más impacientes.
Cuenta también con buena carta de vinos y deliciosos platos como el micuit de pato con salsa de mango, las croquetas de jamón, el tartar de atún…
Algunos platos pueden parecer pequeños pero realmente al final, no se si por el pan con aceite o por que, ¡te llenas sobradamente!
Nosotros tomamos dos entrantes al centro y luego un plato cada uno y sólo nos quedo hueco para pedirnos un postre: arroz con leche en texturas ¡riquísimo y original!
Al final tocamos a 23 euros por cabeza que para ser la zona que es, en Madrid y por la noche sin ningún descuento ¡me parece un chollo!

A great new addition to the area. Trendy interior and friendly staff. The food is great and it’s a fun place to visit for lunch or a quality tapa later in the day.

Mi reseña se basa tan solo en el menú del día de este restaurante.
Dicho menú, a 12,40 (primero, segundo, bebida, postre y café) es una de las mejores opciones bajo mi punto de vista en la zona del barrio de las letras.
Cuatro opciones entre los primeros y tres entre los segundos, variadas, originales y bien preparadas. El menú es variado y está muy bueno.
El servicio igualmente es muy correcto.
Le daría todas las estrellas, pero la quinta me la reservo para cuando vaya a cenar a la carta algún día y actualice la reseña.
De cualquier manera lo apunto entre mis lugares habituales para comer los días oficina.
