Ate here with a large group for our first dinner in Madrid. This is a cool restaurant, very artsy and neat. The servers do speak English, but if you speak español, even better. For our giant group meal, we were served a delicious zucchini soup, bread of course, and paella. Unfortunately my «vegetarian paella» had chicken. Ugh, just because you remove most of the flesh, doesn’t make it vegetarian. Anyways, they tried to make it up by bringing out a salad, which was not very satisfying. The other folks in our group seemed to enjoy their meal though they did complain about bones being in paella. Service was good and not too slow, but their paella mix up was a huge turn off.

Seguramente repitamos.

Not a bad little bar and restaurant that is definitely more hipster than comfortable — I was on my way around the ‘Opera’ tube area and found this place when I just wanted to stop and put my feet up for the day, read my book and just generally hangout. All the staff spoke pretty good English, the range of snacks was sugary but tasty sounding and I had myself a nice big pot of green tea for only 1.80 Euros — total bonus(nice free biscuit too…) They do proper meals and have quite a bit of room for taking lots of people — as was well used by the massive school group that turned up just as I was leaving… noisy! Not massively comfortable with it being all stools or tables but it’s a good spot to people watch at the window if you have an hour to kill!
