I loved this hotel! We spent five nights in December/January celebrating New Year in Madrid. We’ve done this twice before and Urso is definitely the place we will return to. It’s stylish with great location. It’s short walking distance to Chueca as well as Salamanca and you have two metro stations within 3 minutes walk. The staff is so friendly and helpfull, especially the doormen. They really were outstanding! The rooms are spacious and elegant. The beds are comfy — and my concern regarding small and hard beds in Spain was put to shame. There are two elevators and the old one is really beautiful. Urso of course has down turning service and they always put two bottles of water by the bed. A nice touch. And even though some may feel it’s old fashioned to have a minibar in the room we always find this very useful — not at least to chill your cava for New Year’s Eve!

What a wonderful hotel. Fantastic service at the bar, front desk and restaurant. Any and all requests were quickly satisfied. The room was perfect and the spa is perfect after a long day of sightseeing. Can’t wait to come back.

This being the second hotel I stayed at in Madrid, I have to say that I would rather have stayed at One Shot 04, which was a little more than a third of the price. What I didn’t like about the hotel was its location(a little too far from the main drags), and what I paid for what I got(over five hundred for a pretty small room, and use of the spa); I really feel that the reason I have to rate this place three stars is because – though nice – it was not at all worth the price. The service was good, but the room service was pretty expensive, and although not the biggest thing, I should mention that the elevator is small and awkward to use. It was a very nice hotel, though, and it was clean and very relaxing, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to a person who is really going to make use of the spa – which is probably the only reason to stay at this particular hotel. If the spa isn’t so important(or you’re staying in town for several days) and you’d rather have a nicer and more spacious room, you could get more bang for your buck elsewhere. I’m not sure what this place looks like euro-wise if you’re looking for a spa while in Madrid, but I would recommend checking this one out if you’re planning to do a spa day/afternoon/whatever.
