another cute souvenir shoppe inside of plaza mayor. i came to this particular shoppe b/​c they had a large variety of unique souvenirs, some items which i hadn’t seen at other stores. i bought four magnets, for friends, and a plate of madrid for my plate collection at home. each magnet was € 2.50, a bit cheaper than other stores who sold them for € 3-​€ 4, and had a unique design of madrid’s landscape. the plate was a colourful, mosaic compilation of madrid’s key landmarks, taking into account the art form that i’d seen at many of the museums and monuments visited during this trip. i paid € 6.95 for a 6″ diameter plate, average price for this type of souvenir. the two ladies who worked here spoke a little english, which was helpful as i described to them what i was shopping for. they also accepted credit card, another plus since many businesses in madrid, and spain in general, do not accept foreign credit cards.
