Convenient location in Puerta del Sol. Needed a spot to rest and was a little hungry so we grabbed some patatas bravas.(potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce) We sat outside to enjoy the lovely weather. They do have a menu in English, but if you have Spanish speaking skills, use them. They may come off as rude, but I didn’t get that vibe when I spoke to them in Spanish. They were polite and service was quick. There was different pricing for bar and table seating. You pay a little extra to sit outside. Good spot to grab some tapas, but I’m sure there are other less touristy places if you venture off the beaten path.

Arysol seemed like a Spanish version of a diner. They have decent food at reasonable prices and the décor is just so so. It did have the benefit of being open on the earlier side, so I got a quickie breakfast of churros and chocolate before we headed on our way for the day. Not a spot I would go out of my way to go to, but it was convenient being right off Puerta del Sol.

Delicioso(yet simple) bocadillo tortilla española and wonderfully fresh oysters… Polite and helpful staff… We ended up here twice in our 2 days in Madrid. We first stumbled in hungry and tired upon arrival in Madrid. Our hostel was down the block from the plaza this place is situated in. Our second night, we attempted to do a tapas crawl, but met some friendly and generous locals that wanted to take us to their favorite places for a most authentic experience. The first stop we made was Arysol!

Tapas bar right off of Puerta Del Sol. Surprisingly one of the few places open a little later into the evening we found in this kinda touristy area. And while they accommodated us and the olives, patatas bravas and ham were fine, I didn’t feel very welcome.
