The food was good, except the nan(one of my favorite parts of Indian food). Old school indian décor, white table cloths and arches. Very over priced, would not repeat.

We ordered the chef’s tasting menu for 4 people, and we received a LOT of food! While most of the food was drowning in olive oil in the typical Spanish way, it tasted delicious — especially the slow-cooked lamb seasoned with garam masala. I had to specify«gluten-free» and the waiter and chef were able to make modifications to the regular menu to accommodate. They made samosas with a gluten-free bean flour, and I just opted out on the naan bread. I think we arrived for lunch around 1:30 in the afternoon and we were the only people in the entire restaurant because Spaniards don’t eat lunch until much later.

I got a basic chicken biryani, with some samosas. The bread was that wafer, cracker-like stuff(I’m not sure what it’s called, but it wasn’t naan) and it was okay. The samosas were okay too. Overall, everything was way too salty, and the biryani, while it contained actual chicken, tasted mostly like chicken boullion. And salt. I was quite disappointed, but also not surprised. Being a pregnant American toursit who was still on an American schedule, I arrived hungry and right when they opened. So, I was pretty much the only person there for quite a while. My food arrived speedily, but I also ordered something that is realtively easy to make in bulk ahead of time, so I wasn’t surprised.

Moving into a new apartment is cause for celebration. To me, the best way to celebrate is with a delicious meal, and why not make it an Indian meal? So my friend took us here, assuring me that it is better than Indian food he has had in the states. When we were greeted by valet, a coat check, and fancy tablecloths for our midday meal, I was anxious to see if the food lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, an hour or two later, I was left feeling not so enthused. To start, I found the waiters to be relatively unattentive. Maybe they did not want to intrude on our reuinon but at the same time, I felt like they also did not want to serve us. Once we got their attention, we ordered beef samosas, saag paneer, chicken tikka, rice, cheese-filled naan and some yogurt sauce. Clearly the kitchen was on top of their game because the food came out at lightning speed which I could not complain about. However, the food was nothing to write home about. While I ate it all, nothing blew me away. If I had to choose a favorite, I’d say I was impressed by the tender pieces of chicken and enjoyed trying cheese-filled naan for the first time(although I must admit it was a little too greasy and excessive for me). When the bill came, I found myself a bit reluctant to pay. Was I full? Yes. Was I totally upset? Not necessarily… But I am sure I can get a better Indian feast somewhere else for at least half the price.
