The Calima is great. It’s tiny but it’s literally on the beach and stays open later than pretty much everywhere else in that location. There were surfers drinking here, families, even dogs. Everyone likes a dog in a bar.
And also; the Calima is the sandstorm that engulfs this place from time to time, so there, a bit of local knowledge for you.
I didn’t eat anything here but it’s good for getting in the shade during the day and for chilling out, late into the night.

Mehr geht im Urlaub nicht: Super freundlicher Service, perfektes Preis/​Leistungsverhältnis und dann auch noch diese Lage! von sieben Tagen in Medano waren wir an fünf Tagen hier, und wir sind nie enttäuscht worden. besonders lecker: Club Sandwich!

Au bord de la plage El medano, le Calima (nom donné aux îles Canaries pour évoquer le vent chaud chargé de sable venant du Sahara) sert des smoothies, clubs sandwichs et cocktails. L’accueil est plutot sympa et les clubs sandwichs sont tres bons et assez vite servis. Et les prix sont carrément hors concurrence.

The biggest (and best) bocadillo I’ve ever eaten in all my years in Spain? Siiii.
Outdoor seating with sun or shade options? Yup.
La Calima is a great place to grab a coffee and some breakfast before beginning a very taxing day at the beach. It’s right on the sea, so perfect for surfer watching. For my fellow guiris, they serve legit breakfast until noon but if you miss it, the Bocadillo Americano is an amazing breakfast sandwich fix.
… and all at super reasonable prices. I had 2 coffees and a 2-​meal bocadillo for 8 EUR!
