Benicia, CA
Very good, authentic and PLENTIFUL food of the region. If you’re planning to hibernate for a while, this is a great place to visit first because you won’t be hungry for weeks.
The service is wonderful and welcoming. It tends to be a great neighborhood place, not another tourist in sight. On the positive side, this adds to the authenticity but there could be language barriers if your Spanish is limited. But that can be easily overcome and the resulting meal will be worth it.
