I absolutely loved this place. It doesn’t look like much from the outside or the inside. But the staff was lovely and they asked us if it was our first time there and tried to help us order what would suit us best. The food was incredible. Honestly my favorite indian food ever and i love indian food. I can’t wait to come back.

Lovely Indian restaurant in the Gracia district, conveniently located next to a craft beer pub. After going two months without Indian food, this place was everything I needed and more. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with saag paneer and a double order of garlic naan. The food came out so quickly and our server was super friendly :))

Arrived just as kitchen was opening for the evening and the owners took care of us with drinks and papadums with tasty chutney and yoghurt & mint dip until ready to take our orders. Rogan josh, aloo ghobi & chicken tikka all very good. Lamb biriyani was a bit soggy for my liking, but still tasty. Overall, friendly, prompt service, and good food in unpretentious surroundings.

love this place. Here only 3 weeks in Barcelona and dined 4 times. The waiter and owner are a pisser, so friendly and keep you laughing. However, the food is also terrific. Nicely spiced, tender meats, and their lentil soup is terrific. Also their curries and biryanis. Can’t wait to return!

Walked in skeptical bc of previous Unilocal reviews, however I was very impressed. The two co-owners are friendly and have great service. Ordered the paneer tikka tandoor(I’m a vegetarian) and the malai kofta with garlic naan and rice. That was enough to stuff my starving husband and i! They gave this amazing mint chutney for spicy eaters(ie my husband) that was probably the best he has ever had! Oh they also give one papadum for free in the beginning As an American who was missing her mothers homemade food, this place hit the spot! They even gave us a mini mango lassi for free since we didn’t order any dessert and it was so good my husband left me barely a sip:/

I came to this restaurant on a Saturday at 4:10pm and the waiter refused to serve me as he said the kitchen was closed. If they stop serving at 4 then they should change their hours online. Never coming here again.

Swagatam is located alongside Passeig De Gracia on Carrer Sant Augustin. It’s a small restaurant with approximately a dozen tables and a full bar. Service was great however the authenticity of the food was about average. We had the Mutton Seekh Kebabs and Chicken Tikka Masala. The Chicken Tikka Masala was more on the sweet side than on the tandoor side. Perhaps it was prepared to suit the tastes of Barcelona rather than authentic Indian Tandoor. The cost of the dishes was acceptable. This place is not a formal place however does the job if one is hungry and craving for the Indian cuisine.

I am an Indian living in Los Angeles, and have eaten Indian food everywhere, LA, London, New Delhi. The food was surprisingly authentic. We had asked for it to be spicy, and the food was what we would expect in India. My only caution and the only reason for giving this restaurant a 4 stars was the goat meat, some pieces were tough, and to be fran, outside of India, I have had a hard time getting to be the same quality that I get in New Delhi or other parts of India. The host is refreshingly Indian and I would suggest that you stick with the chicken or lamb and you will get a truly engaging experience of Indian food cooked well, with the spices being properly cooked and nicely marinated in the meat and vegetables. We ordered Goat Karahi, Aloo Gobhi(Cauliflower and Potatoes) and Tandoori Roti(Whole Wheat Tortillas) all of which was fantastic.

Best Indian I have had in a while! Must try, it’s our favorite already after only one visiting. The price is perfect for what you get.

Went with a friend, we had two dishes. Daal was good and other recipe not so good. Service bit slow, wouldn’t allow you to sit where you prefer even though the table was free, though staff is really warm and talktive.

A really great local Indian Place! The food is good. It’s usually super busy on Friday-Sundays, because it’s really popular. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. My only real complaint to this restaurant, is that the Chicken Tikki Masala is really tomatoey. Everything else that I’ve been served there has been really good. I’m not sure that it is the best it could be in terms of food, but it’s quite good, and deserving of 4 stars wholly.

I am mixed on opinion of this place, so I can only give 3 stars. On the one hand the staff there are are really friendly and approachable, speak English well enough to explain things to you and talk about the cricket LOL If you get a meal pack with 3 curries, rice, papadum and naan you get away with it for less than € 10 and you get a drink included. As soon as you move away from that menu the prices increase dramatically, so be careful there. Food was nice, starter will light your fire, pretty hot that one was. Salad was fresh. Down side was I saw them microwave the rice to warm it up :( I was sceptical about going in here even after reading the reviews on Unilocal as when I walked past there, there was not a single diner in sight which made me doubt it, but overall as an experience I was glad I went in.

A sweet and surprisingly excellent treat. We have stumbled across this place while looking for an alternative to the tapas bars. It was a great experience, the staff are friendly and carring, and the food was one of the best we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely go there again in our next visit to Barcelona.

Of all of the Indian places I’ve been in my life, including going to India itself, these guys know how to cook some damn food. Hands down the best Indian food I have ever had. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and grateful for your business… Great people. I’m not one to break down every grain of rice, so I will just say this: if you’re looking for EXCELLENT authentic Indian food and a very friendly staff that remembers you, this is the place.
