«Oh, Visas aren’t working past midnight. Look, it spat out a counter receipt.» Me, skeptical, smelling bullshit from a mile away, «I have an American Express. And I have no cash. The stickers on your door say that you accept mine and various others.» Waiter responds, «But look, it didn’t accept another’s Visa.» To which I respond, «Well that may have been a particular incident. I have no cash. So let’s try the card.» Sure as shit the card works. Subsequently I overhear the manager tell the waiter, «to the next person, don’t back down. The card reader doesn’t function past midnight.» WTF??? Either you accept a credit card or you don’t. Don’t bull shit. Next time I’ll insist they call the cops. Otherwise, nice ceviche.

«Unfiltered» is the word that comes to mind when trying to describe this place. It’s authentic, packed with Peruvian staff and customers and inexpensive. The venue is modest and can be noisy, service is friendly but can be inattentive when the place is crowded — but getting tasty Peruvian in Barcelona makes that not matter that much after all. Food is abundant. Sauces are great. Wide range of choices without spreading themselves thin over the breadth. I loved the roasted meat and enjoyed the fish. If you want decent Peruvian for 10 – 20 € per person, this is a good pick.
