I am from Texas so I know my Mex food. This place served some of the best green enchiladas I have ever eaten. The guacamole is excellent also. What a find in of all places, Barcelona.

We ate everything before we could take pictures. But honestly this little spot walking distance from magic fountain is GOLD. Get the Nachos con Guacamole and honestly any taco on the menu they are all delicious and only 2 € each! 4 stars and not 5 only because of how small the place is.

I’m going to be honest with you. This restaurant is easily 7 out of 5 stars. The Enchiladas Verdes was the best food I’ve had in recent memory aka the last decade. They are so kind here and the food is amazing! #blessedAF

All the staff at this restaurant very welcoming and served us in a timely manner. All of the food we had was amazing. We started off with guacamole, and even if I hadn’t watched the waiter chopping up tomatoes at the bar, I would’ve been able to tell how fresh it was. The taco al pastor, taco de mole verde, and taco de tinga de pollo were all amazing (and only 2 euros each). However, I would highly recommend the enchiladas verdes. We finished off the night with some tres leches cake, which was delectable like all the other dishes. This restaurant made me wish I wasn’t just visiting Barcelona. Definitely give it a try.

Best Mexican food I have ever had! My boyfriend and I were visiting Barcelona from the New York City area and couldn’t believe how good everything was. We split the nachos with guacamole, chicken taco, and the chicken enchiladas verdes — we would have liked to eat everything all over again but were full :). The staff was very friendly, setting was authentic and small, it was the best meal we had in Barcelona.

Comida casera mexicana en un local muy sencillito a gran relación calidad precio.
Ya lo dejan claro advirtiendo que no cocinan tex mex y se agradece esa autenticidad. He ido varias veces y siempre he encontrado la misma calidad en sus platos. El guacamole es de los mejores que he probado nunca así como los tacos al pastor.
Para repetir, cuidado que el local es pequeño…

The most unassuming place I visited in Barcelona but the food and staff made this the best meal of my stay. Although the seating is a little tight the food is reasonably priced and full of flavor and staff very friendly.

Superb small Mexican joint! Great authentic Mexican food at great price. Had the Magarita Limon «La classica» — can’t ask for better.
Best black beans (Frijoles de la olla) I ever had! Great Enchiladas as well.

Sought this place out based on other reviews, and we were SO glad we did! It is tiny; a party of seven came in just before us and we (party of five) almost were turned away, but they made it work. The aesthetics aren’t great; think «unadorned diner», but you’re there for delicious food, not décor. Clearly a family-​run operation, the small staff was very friendly and the food was, indeed, fantastic. We had tacos, enchiladas (a house specialty) and quesadillas, plus guacamole to start. Agua Fresca del dia was delicious, and fresh, hot, tasty food came out quickly, despite there being one cook in the kitchen at first. («Mama» came to help out later.) No time for dessert, as we wanted to catch the magic fountain show, so I can’t comment on that. (Note: Order plenty, as you’ll have to wait your turn if you didn’t ask for enough the first time. Count on four tacos pp.) We left full and happy!

They don’t speak English but we had a great time anyways! It is a tiny little restaurant with 3 tables and a mini bar area. Don’t bring more than 2 – 4 people because you won’t fit. Their drinks were delicious and their food was amazing. Very authentic Mexican food. Even with the language barrier, we had a great time! (Even though they might’ve been laughing AT us, not WITH us)

Tenia mono de mejicano desde hace tiempo por razones sentimentales que no vienen a cuento y hace un par de semanas estuve en Barcelona y descubrí gracias a Unilocal (thank you Mr. Unilocal) que estaba este pequeño restaurante junto a mi hotel… leí las reseñas, vi las fotos y me gustó lo que había.
Llamé para preguntar si había sitio y me dijeron que me reservaban una mesa (¡menos mal!).
Llegué a la hora y vi que era el típico bar de barrio del año que atacaron pero que en vez de servir las típicas papas bravas, calamares y cacahuetes, pues servían platos mejicanos.
Me sentaron en una mesa individual junto a otra que estaba ocupada por cuatro personas (ya no había más mesas al menos que yo viese en esa planta).
La carta estaba en el mismo salvamanteles… carta corta pero muy bien dividida en Tacos, burritos, quesadillas y especialidades, además de postres y bebidas.
Me decanté por un taco de mole verde y una quesadilla Huitlacoche que me sirvieron con dos tipos de salsa que según me explicaron, una picaba más que la otra… No me hice la farruca por si acaso diciendo que tengo un parque de bomberos en el estómago, pero vamos, picar lo que se dice picar, era más que soportable.
El taco de mole ya lo había probado antes pero este me gustó mucho… sabroso, con un sabor a cilantro bastante predominante que resultaba muy refrescante.
El otro, la quesadilla Huitlacoche, la cogí porque me llamó la atención que el Huitlacoche era un hongo parásito del maíz… ¿una quesadilla de un parásito? ¡eso tengo que probarlo! Y oye… pues que pese a ese aspecto negruzco tan chungo, estaba muy rico…
Me pedí postre y mi decepción es que sólo les quedaba el bizcocho de Guinness, que no estaba malo, al revés, estaba bastante bueno… pero quería haber probado algo más típico.
Y lo mejor de todo, el precio… me pareció super barato…

Si queréis disfrutar de una auténtica comida casera mexicana… este es el lugar!
Comida exquisita de calidad, buen precio y un trato muy amable.
El lugar es pequeñito.pero muy muy acogedor.
Recomendables sus postres. Totalmente caseros. Sobre todo el tres leches y el de queso Mascarpone. Animaros!

Para los amantes de la comida mexicana, nada que ver con los Tex Mex, donde los platos están precocinados y son más artificiales, gran variedad de platos con precios muy competitivos, podrás degustar comida mexicana a muy buen precio. Recomendado.
For mexican food lovers, very different from tex mex restaurants, i like it so much.

I am from California so I have had my fair share of Mexican food. El Changarrito opened 2 months ago and the food here is second to none. Potentially better than the food you find in California. My family and I had the nachos and ordered a second plate because they were the best we have ever had. The tacos were great as well. We tried the al pastor and the chicken tacos and I can‘t say a negative word about either. I wish I would have found this gem earlier. Go there if you are like my family and I and need your mexican food fix!
