Bilbao Berria

Wir waren nur für 2 Tage in Barcelona, und auf unserem Streifzug durch die Altstadt kamen wir an diesem Laden vorbei. Die hier ausgestellten Pinchos sahen einfach so lecker aus, dass wir spontan Hunger bekamen ;) Also rein in den Laden und kurz nachfragen, wie das ganze funktioniert: Man sucht sich erstmal einen freien Tisch und bestellt Getränke. Dann kann man sich einfach einen Teller nehmen und frei am Buffet bedienen. Pinchos sind kleine Tapas Häppchen auf Baguette mit einem kleinen Holzspieß zusammengehalten. Jedes Stück kostet hier 1,85 € und man zahlt nachher einfach die Anzahl der Spieße. Hinten gab es noch einige besondere Häppchen mit Sonderpreisen, die auch an anderen Spießen erkennbar waren.
Ein tolles Konzept, für den kleinen oder auch großen Hunger. Die Auswahl und Qualität war einfach super. Ab und an, hab ich Besteck vermisst, da manche Sachen doch schnell vom Baguette runterfielen. Und eine Beschriftung wäre noch toll, da ich gerne gewusst hätte, was genau da so lecker war. Ich hatte zum Beispiel ein Pincho mit so einer Art Fisch in Nudelform, keinen Plan, was das war. Ich denke jedoch, dass das auch eher «deutsches» Denken ist, in Spaniern ist so eine Beschriftung vermutlich nicht üblich.
Da wir noch ein weiteres Pincho-​Lokal besucht haben, kann ich hier im Vergleich sagen, dass die Pinchos hier zwar etwas hochpreisiger aber auch definitiv im höherwertigen Qualitätsbereich liegen. Sehr ausgefallene Häppchen und toll angerichtet. Hier würde ich gerne direkt wieder einkehren.

Tasty food. friendly prompt service. Great location. Nice décor. Not worth seeking out necessarily to go to but if you are in the area and looking for a place to eat lunch it is an excellent choice.

After you find your table — the waiter brings your drinks, but after that, you are on your own (yay)you go to the bar/​display table choose your own tapas — so many flavors to try! There are no cards explaining what you are about to eat, but to me it was pretty obvious… in Spain I have learned to savor my food and drinks with all my senses…
I thought it was priced just right (you will be billed by the number of the little skewers that hold your tapas to the bread) — and a bottle of wine for two — heavenly!

Pros: Decent tapas, self-​service (getting food is fast), and cheap. I got 2 different tapas for € 3.50
Cons: Servers will literally turn their backs on you when you ask them a question. Seriously, some of the worst service I’ve ever had.

Decent tapas at a good price: 1.75 for one. Had the paella which wasn’t so good but the cheap and decent tapas made up for it. A lot of variety so give it a shot.

Great tapas.
Food is self service which means you can get what you want. The waiter simply counts the cocktail sticks to charge you. And at 1.75 euro each, they really are well priced.
Nice location for people watching right next to the cathedral.

A much more touristy tapas places, yet with this much variety I’m willing to forgive it.
So. Many. Tapas. Restaurants. Barcelona certainly knows how to impress, it would figure that even the chain tapas places are excellent too. Bilbao is the perfect place if you’re visiting from out of town or out of country, with an inviting atmosphere, plenty of seating, and tapas places as far as the eye can see. The billing is similar to other tapas places — you’re charged around 2 euros per tapas, which is counted by the waitstaff by the amount of toothpicks at your table. The sangria isn’t bad either.
Why we don’t have more of these in the United States I’ll never know, as you can eat as much or as little as you want. If you want the maximum variety of tapas possible, or a starter Tapas place after that 11 hour flight from the States, Bilbao Berria will exceed expectations.

Great experience with trying good tapas at this place! We came for lunch with friends and were lucky enough to get a table outside. ALL of the different tapas we tried were excellent! There’s so many options that all looked good. It was hard to choose which ones to get. The prices here were also great. We left very happy and full. I can’t wait to go back!

Second time at this place. Cozy tapas bar with a whole array of tapas choices, hot and cold. Not too expensive.

Close to the Cathedral of Barcelona.

Este é provavelmente o melhor restaurante de tapas de Barcelona. A apresentação é excelente, o sabor é delicioso e são relativamente baratas. O melhor de tudo é que não costuma ter fila como os outros restaurantes. Mesmo ao pé da catedral de Barcelona, no coração da cidade. Obrigatório!

Une de nos activités préférées étaient de passer de beaux moments parmi lesquels découvrir des lieux où passer de bonnes soirées et le Bilbao Berria en a fait partie !
J’adore parce que ça me rappelle le pays basque et les pintxos de St Sébastien.
Le concept c’est de déposer ses affaires à un table (munie de tabourets et de banquettes confortables), s’approcher du bar pour choisir les pintxos de votre choix. vous vous servez (à volonté !)
Vous vous installez, commandez à boire au serveur et profitez !
Les pintxos sont beaux et bons !!
Les pintxos coûtent 2.50 €/​pièce, le principe c’est de déposer les piques –qui sont plantées dans chaque pintxos sucré ou salé– dans le bac prévu à cet effet au centre de la table. Lors de l’addition, le serveur comptabilise les piques et les consommations et vous annonce la note.

Hace unos días fui a un local en la Plaça Nova de Barcelona, o sea, territorio guiri. Al lado de la Catedral y del Carrer del Bisbe encontraréis este local de pinchos (pintxos) que pretende traer la esencia vasca a la capital catalana.
Podéis elegir una gran variedad de pinchos y de platillos. Pero nada de ellos, sin ser malo está delicioso, aunque esa categorización es personal y siempre difícil de transmitir. Comeréis algo que es correcto pero que podría ser mejor. Aunque cierto es que ante lo apremiante que puede ser el hambre a veces con ello basta.
El local es un poco demasiado ruidoso y en ocasiones es difícil saber si hablas con tu acompañante o si ya formas parte de otra familia, o grupo de amigos. Las mesas están muy muy juntitas y eso ayuda a la fraternidad humana pero también a participar de conversaciones que en ocasiones uno no desea.
Así que mejorable pero una opción si uno está en territorio guiri.

Good food for your money, each pintxo is 1,70 €. You have a buffet from which you can choose, they have more than 30 different kinds of pintxo (cold, warm, sweet or salty). They also have a nice choice of different wines, which can be bought for a reasonable price.

This place is amazing! I absolutely love tapas and the tapas bar here has so much variety. There was a long line to be seated, but me and my friends decided to just stand at the bar to eat, so we didn’t have to wait. There is such a wide selection of pintxhos to chose from, and I really enjoyed every one I tried. This place had a different feel than other tapas bars, and the price was very reasonable.

Hier hat man echt die Qual der Wahl an Tapas. Der Vorteil ist: man kann sich die Tapas an einem Buffet mit unendlicher Auswahl aussuchen. Die Qualität ist perfekt. Bezahlt wird anhand der Anzahl Zahnstocher mit denen die Tapas aufgespiesst waren.

Même si ce n’est pas mon gros coup de cœur de ce week-​end prolongé à Barcelone, c’est malgré tout une super adresse pour manger des tapas le soir, avec un bon rapport qualité/​prix.
Les tapas sont nombreux et divers, présentés sur le comptoir en grand nombre. Croquettes de poisson, petits burgers, charcuterie sur tranches de pain, brochettes de saucisses et légumes… Il y en a absolument pour tous les goûts.
Et en dessert, on trouve même quelques petits gâteaux et crèmes !
Les tapas sont vendus à 1,75 € pièce. Service libre au comptoir; les serveurs comptent ensuite les piques en bois sur la table pour établir la note. La taille des tapas est très correcte pour le prix (cela dépend aussi du produit), et c’est plutôt un bon plan pour bien manger, découvrir des tapas, et ressortir avec une note raisonnable.
À noter: un supplément de 10% est appliqué en terrasse.

A nice modern space serving up pintxo which are little snacks with a small skewer through it. Servers will seat you and bring you your drinks but it’s all self-​serve after that. You go up to the bar and just select away. There’s no names or descriptions so go with your best guess. Not the place of you are too picky. They have mostly items on a slice of bread with cheese and sardines or ham. Then there’s hot items like chicken wings, stuffed fried ball, mini burger, tempura etc. and there’s also desserts. Only tried savoury stuff and they were all decent and average. Nothing amazing but fine for a somewhat inexpensive meal. You place your sticks into a container they give you and the server counts the sticks at the end. Each stick is 1.75 €. Cava is 3 € per glass. For two people we had 12 sticks and 2 cavas totalling 27 €.
Service was fast and efficient. Place was full at dinner but turned over fairly well. There’s outdoor seating and it’s near the Barcelona Cathedral.

Pretty good tapas, lots of options including different meats & sweets. The sangria was very good 2 thumbs up ! The service was fast & friendly.

Pintxos intéressants, et peu chers. Avec un verre de blanc, on passé un bon moment à un bon rapport qualité prix.

I absolutely love this place. When you want tapas and you want to try all the different kinds and you can pick and choose whatever you think you want its a completely win win situation. And the prices were totally reasonable.
They just count the toothpicks. :)
It has everything from sweet to savory.

We ran into this pintxos place after Mass on Sunday at de Catedral de Barcelona. Love the way that you choose your items and then are charged by the number of sticks (Skewers) you end up with on the table! The wine and Basque tapas were delicious! They even had mini lasagnas to try. And lots of mini-​desserts!
A few days later we returned again it was so delicious the first time!

Great tapas bar. Lots of choices for all palate. Each «montadito» is € 1.70, they will count the amount of tooth picks on your plate, and charge you accordingly. Nice, fun atmosphere. Table are very close to each other and lots of tourist talking to each other. You can also seat outside. No service per say except for your drinks. Worth a try.

Good place for tapas. A lot of different tapas to chose, there is hot and cold tapas. All with different styles and flavours. Definitely a place I will eat again.

Die Lage mitten im Zentrum, die Auswahl an Tapas gigantisch, so was hast Du noch nicht gesehen. Man isst leider mehr als geplant, die Auswahl ist einfach zu groß.
Wie kommen wieder!

The concept of this restaurant was kind of awesome… like a buffet, but you pay a small fee for each item (1.50 euro ish). There were some items that were incredible and others that were so so. We tried a ham croquette with a roasted pepper on top… this was the most delicious thing… I could’ve eaten twelve of them. The grilled pork on a stick was yummy. The mini paella… not so good. We had a few more items, but nothing terribly memorable. The bill was inexpensive. If you’re passing by, this place is worth a stop.

When I was there it was 1,70 € for one pintxos, but I think that it depend on the day.
Pintxos are pretty big and really good, ⁴⁄₅ pintxos can be sufficient!
The place is really nice even if I have prefer all the Pintxos bar on carrer del Bail with a more local atmosphere (1 € each pintxo).

Un endroit sympa pour tester les fameux pintxos. La pièce est à 1,70 € mais les pintxos sont vraiment copieux, donc ⁴⁄₅ peuvent suffire pour une nana comme moi!
Cependant pour une ambiance plus locale, je recommande les bar à pintxos de la Carrer del Blai. Les pintxos sont à 1 € (moins originaux qu’a BB) mais l’ambiance est plus sympa!

El servicio no es muy amigable o tal vez ese día no estaban al 100%. La comida esta solo ok… Hay mejores lugares alrededor para comer. Solo comimos 4 tapas y 2 cañas y nos fuimos.

Bilbao Berria was my first introduction to pintxos, and what an introduction it was!
Marvelous bite sized offerings of jamon, tortillas, anchovies, and other Spanish delights all served on tiny little skewers. If I remember correctly each pintxo was priced at a little less than 2 euros, and the beer and tinto verano were both extremely affordable.
Great seating in the cathedral plaza, or inside.
Bilbao Berria is spacious and well lit. Pleasant, inviting, and delicious.
I would highly recommend visiting on an early Sunday afternoon so that you can observe the greek dances that take place in the plaza directly in front of the outdoor seating.

I have only been to the «pintxos» part of this place (not to be confused with tapas) but that is all I need to have experienced to be happy! It is a bit overwhelming because they have a huge spread and it is self service, but trust me everything is wonderful! So be adventurous and grab something off the bar (anything because you’ll be getting up for more) and order a bottle of wine… you’ll be here for a while!
Wednesdays are 1 € pintxos! Only in the winter though :’(once tourists start popping up in the spring your wallet will soon find out that the deal is no more!
Even with the «tourist» surcharge in the spring, you don’t want to miss out on this! It’s literally right next to the cathedral so this place has your «communion» covered with the wine and bread you’ll be consuming ;)
Easiest way to get here is the Jaume I metro stop (yellow line) walk to the cathedral and you’ll see it next to the waffle place

Sehr zu empfehlen. Eine der schickeren und moderneren Tapas-​Bars, aber trotzdem nicht zu teuer oder gar zu abgehoben. Das Essen ist einfach saugut. Tip: Mittwochs sind alle Tapas für 1,00 statt 1,65 zu haben. :)

No lo recomendaria para disfrutar Ricos sabores. Esta ok si solo quieres q sect quite el hambre

Tolles Konzept — wäre zu überlegen, dass auch in Deutschland umzusetzen. Große Auswahl an Tapas — abgerechnet wird via Anzahl der Stäbchen, welche in den Tapas stecken (jeweils 1,65 Euro). Sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Immer wieder eine Empfehlung wert — sehr zentral, aber glücklicherweise abseits der Ramblas gelegen!

Sehr zu empfehlen, haben es durch Zufall gefunden. Große Auswahl an Tapas zu einem günstigen Preis.

War jetzt bereits das 3 Mal dort. Das Konzept ist super. Selbstbedienung bei den Tapas. Sie sind sehr fein und immer frisch. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und extrem schnell. Abgerechnet wird mittels der Anzahl Stäbchen. Wenn die Sonne scheint, ist es sehr schön draussen zu sitzen. Kein Verkehr, da Fussgängerzone. Kann ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

Nefasto servicio, sucio, camareros mal organizados que se gritan entre ellos. Cucarachas y otros insectos que caen del techo. Nada recomendado.

Wir waren während unserer fünf Tage in Barcelona schätzungsweise 8 mal da. Zum Frühstück mochten wir es besonders, weil man sehr schön auf der Terrasse sitzen und auf die Kathedrale schauen kann. Die baskischen Tapas (auf Weissbrot) waren sehr variantenreich und lecker. Das Preis– Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut und das Konzept (in jedem Tapa steckt ein Holzstäbchen, am Ende werden die gezählt und mit 1,65 berechnet) stimmig.

Super Tappas zum spitzenpreis. Freundlicher und guter Service. Immer gut besucht !!!

Einfach nur gut. Riesenauswahl an Tapas, sehr guter Geschmack. Wird von vielen Spaniern besucht, was für sich spricht. Zu Stosszeiten muss man schon Glück haben einen Platz zu finden.

Wir waren im April in Barcelona, ein Freund hatte uns dieses Lokal empfohlen.
Das waren mit Abstand die besten Tapas die wir je gegessen haben. Vorallem das Konzept hat uns sehr gefallen man kann sich selbst bedienen (bis auf die Getränke, die bringt der Kellner) da alle Tapas mit einem Holzspiesschen zusammengehalten werden, zählt der Keller diese am Schluss und so wird abgerechnet…

Un petit creux? Envie d’une découverte culinaire? D’une alternative au sandwich/​panini classique? Ce restaurant barcelonais propose une 20taine de variétés de pintxos, tous plus bons les uns que les autres.
Les pintxos (ou pinchos) sont des amuse bouches originaires du Pays Baque. Ces oeuvres d’art (oui, je pèse mes mots car ils sont vraiment beaux!) sont en fait des tranches de pain sur lequel est déposée une portion de nourriture (tortilla, croqueta, butifarra, poulpes, fromage type Philadelphia, sardine, ratatouille, moules, etc.). Souvent très garnis, le tout doit être tenu par un pic à brochette.

Et pour un 1,65EUR l’unité, on peut se faire plaisir! (Ma copine et moi avons cherché et nous n’avons pas trouvées moins cher!)Le restaurant est situé à deux pas de la Plaça Nova. Sa clientèle se compose donc (naturellement) de touristes mais aussi de locaux (c’est bon signe!).Le service est sympa. Comme le veut la tradition, le serveur compte le nombre de pics à brochette pour déterminer le montant de l’addition. Les toilettes sont corrects (C’est bête qu’ils soient nichés au 3ème étage ^^).A éviter les pintxos-​dessert (crème catalane, gâteau au chocolat, fraisier), sans grand intérêt. Ici, on est là pour le salé!

En pleno centro de Barcelona, en la Plaza de la Catedral, está esta taberna vasca, en la que nos ofrecen unos montaditos de gran calidad… a nosotros y a los miles de turistas que pululan por esta zona y entran como parte de su peregrinación, a golpe de guía de viaje.
He ido muchas veces, porque me vuelven loco esos montaditos y SIEMPRE he tenido que guardar cola… Una vez superado este trámite, pasas a la acción, seleccionando, plato en mano, los que más te atraigan de toda la barra… Si no has sido nunca camarero, no cargues mucho el plato, que ya habrá tiempo en una segunda pasada en «vuelo rasante».
Un consejo:
Es mejor que no vayas sólo/​a, ya que lo suyo es que mientras uno vá a la barra, el otro (o los demás) se quede en la mesa vigilando los bolsos y demás pertenencias y reservando la mesa, no vaya a ser que la cosa se complique…
Al final, tienes que haber guardado los palillos en un pequeño recipiente dispuesto a tal efecto y… proceden a su recuento (No vale esconder alguno, que son más listos que tú, créeme) y a pagar.
La cuenta, es moderada, siempre y cuando no seas un tragón como yo…

En el recorrido con mis nuevas dos amigas que venían solo por dos días a Barcelona, donde yo oficiaba de guía con flor en la mano, no tuve mejor idea que buscar una terracita al sol. Estábamos ahí a medio paso de la Catedral. La vuelta se había extendido más de la cuenta y ya veníamos cansadas y con ganas de café. Ooooooooooh dije, una mesa al sooooooooool, vaaaaamos. Primereamos una mesa entre turistas y nos sentamos. Ni bien nos sentamos me doy cuenta que la mesa estaba «chanfleada» diríamos nosotros, o sea, estaba «clueca», torcida como se diga! No estaba bien. Ok, no importa me dije. Lado zeeeeeeen, Mariana, disfruta del sooool y ya. El camarero se tomó su tiempo para atendernos. Hasta que aparece una camarera del sector interior a la cual le pregunto con educación si por favor nos podían atender. Ya habían pasado más de 5 minutos. Ella, ordinaria y bastante mal educada me responde. Yo concentradíííííííísima en mi lado zen para no levantar campamento y huir. Pedimos los café y preguntamos si podíamos comer algo. Nos informan que para comer uno se debía buscar lo que quisiera o sea había que pararse a buscar lo que quisieras comer. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Fuimos, una se quedó para que no nos «robaran» la única mesa al soooooool. Había toooooodos pinchos (1.80 euros cada uno por comerlo en terraza si no 1.60 adentro) Había unas tristes crossaints. No vimos los precios, nadie nos atendía y al momento de hacerlo una «Cubana» con genio nos dice, arriba guapa, mira arriba, ahí tienes los precios. OH-​lalá! yo de acá no como nada. ¿Qué se creen? Acaso no podrían ser más gentiles. ¿Quién les paga su salario? En fin. Me mordí los labios y salimos. Al momento de sentarme la mesa, claaaaaaaaaaaro, se mueve para toooodos lados y ¿qué paso? Se volvó en parte mi fucking café con leche descafeinado. Lado zennnnnn por última vezzzzzzz. El que se enoja pierde simpre me dijo mi padre. No lo hice, no iba a perder energías en ello pero sé que a ese lugar nunca más vuelvo. Nunca máááááááááááááás. Son de terrooooooooooor. No vayas, ni te atrevas. Mejor huyeeeeeeeee. ¿vale? Además a la catedral la ves de costado. Puntaje: — 100. Voilà!

Tapas-​Restaurants sind natürlich traditionell, aber dieses ist einfach top!!! Hervorragendes Essen und klasse eingerichtet Restaurant. Urtümlich und dennoch nicht unmodern. Super Service und klasse Atmosphäre!!! Werde immer wieder sehr gern vorbeikommen!
