We arrived early for a 7pm reservation to a very empty restaurant. We knew we we early and volunteered to wait at the bar. Problem is no bar. We were promptly seated but when we asked for a table overlooking the marina we were denied with the explanation that they«were fully booked». As we leave now at 8:15 pm the tables we requested are still vacant. Food was good but unremarkable. Service was efficient but not friendly. Prices reflect the fact the restaurant is on the harbor but be cautioned your seating may not reflect that. On balance, we would neither return nor recommend it to our friends.

I love to chill here mostly in the afternoon when sun is not very direct. There is always something going on, skaters, bikers, runners on the upper deck and surfers and beach volleyball players on the beach. There are a few nice clubs– Opium, Carpe Diem and Ice Barceloneta are towards the end of the strip. I also love to watch Frank Gehry Fish changing colors to the sunset.

Why can such a HORRIBLE seafood restaurant get a 4 star?! Service is Horrible! This is the worst restaurant I have ever been. Atmosphere is super weird. It does not feel like a high-end restaurant. Food is fine and definitely overpriced. Anyway, BAD service, BAD food!

Beautiful views of the marina area of the Port of Barcelona. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a really unique Mediterranean vibe, the décor a bit quirky yet tasteful. We were greeted very promptly and the service was top notch. The food is exceptional and the menu extensive. This is a great place to come as a group so you can try the array of amazing tapas this restaurant has to offer. If you are looking for a place in this city that has the best seafood cooked authentically in the Catalan style, visit this place and you will not be disappointed. This was definitely a highlight during my visit to Barcelona.

This is the best place to be! I have been to a lot of places, Thailand, China, Africa etc. But I allways end up here! Wonder why? I think I have been to Barcelona maybe 10 times the last few years. And this place, oh my gud I dont have the Word to describe this! The beach is amazing, the people are wonderful, good food and drinks, the hotels are beautiful, the streets, animals, shops, sounds, smell, everything is just perfect. It dosent matter why or who you travel with because in this place I can promise you that you will have a wonderful time and it will be a trip you will never forget. It dosent matter when you are coming here, its nice even in January as it is in Juli. So if you need to relax or having a good time, book the trip!

Service: Horrendous. Our waiter was switched up at the beginning of our service. The manager came to take our order and he was just so standoffish. Didn’t explain anything to us and kept his words very minimal. Not a very friendly atmosphere. Waiter barely came to refill our waters and didn’t pour our wine, nor did he offer us to taste the wine before confirming if we liked it(I always thought these fancy places do that for you). Food: Definitely overpriced, but the oysters were pretty amazing. Fat, succulent, and very fresh. Paella was horrible. 21 euros for something that would feed maybe one person, depending on how hungry you were. Looked very lackluster with no color whatsoever. Had just 2 prawns and was just, meh. The octopus though, was delicious! Nice char but good meaty flavor. Have to say if you’re going to order anything, order the octopus! Overall, would NOT recommend this place nor would I go here again. The view wasn’t even that great. They placed us in a corner of the restaurant with a bad view when there were plenty of empty tables with a better view.

The place is very nice and close to the shore. A very well decorated environment creating a wonderful atmosphere. The meal is perfect for a reasonable price. The service is excellent! One of the best tiramisu that I ever tasted!

For an appetizer I ordered calamari and gambas in garlic and it didn’t have much taste. Then I ordered a paella and it was a very tiny portion. It was not even 1 cup of rice in total. Maybe I got 3 shrimps and 1 piece of fish. I would not recommend this place.

This place is nice with a perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner. The quality of the seafood is fresh but the reason why I give it 3 stars was due to the saltiness of all the food. We tried the black noodle with cuttlefish, black rice with cuttlefish, meat paella, seafood noddle, and meat and vegetable paella. On the contrary, the cod fish and salmon was good.

The food and drinks were excellent! The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that my wife and I both felt sick after and most of the next days. Since it seems that others aren’t reporting the same I’ll blame it on our American bellies not yet adjusted to the area seafood cuisine. The food taste was very good and as was the atmosphere. I would still recommend it!

Vale a pena conhecer e jantar nesse restaurante de Barcelona. Amei a Paeja e o arroz negro de sepia. Ambiente super agradável e a vista muito legal. Quando voltar para Barcelona com certeza será meu restaurante para vir com amigos.

I read the reviews on Barceloneta and decided to give it a try. It was our first dinner in Barcelona and I was a little nervous as we were walking toward dinner as we passed by numerous restaurants on the sidewalk with waiters/waitresses trying to pull you in for dinner. My husband and I were thinking, oh we hope that is not our restaurant that we are going to! Luckily Barceloneta is across this busy street and is actually right on the water and is almost secluded making it a very scenic place to have dinner. Service was a little slow in the beginning, we were seated and it seemed like it took at least five minutes for any waiter to acknowledge our presence. However, once we did get the waiter’s attention, we were pleasantly surprised by how quick and attentive the service was afterwards. The credit for this goes to the younger wait staff as it seems there is one main person taking orders and then other waiters take over in getting your orders to you. We were impressed by the freshness of our seafood. I ordered the salmon and monk fish carpaccio for a started and my husband ordered the iberico jamon. The jamon was delicious! Also each table gets an order of freshly made toasted tomato bread which is amazing. We asked for another order because our table loved it so much. My husband ordered the seabass tarter which was delicious and I ordered the octopus. My parents ordered the cod fish and tuna steak which were both excellent. Plus the detail and care they take into deboning the fish in front of you was appreciated and entertaining for us since we are used to deboning our own fish. :) All in all we had a great time here and would recommend it as a nice dinner out.

Not so impressed expected for the final check. Food was good to ok but not WOW. The beer was really good!!! They were nice enough to «let us in» with no reservations. Service was good but not great. We knew it wasn’t going to be a cheap place so we had higher expectations. We had some seafood and I had a grilled fish. Don’t get me wrong; food was good but not for that price. But after reading a few reviews I was hoping for a nicer dinner and better service. Few times I don’t agree with the reviews but this time I have to disagree!!! Oh well… You can’t win them all!!!

This place is nice, right on shore and it is an elegant restaurant. It is really crowded during the lunch time, you can wait a while to get a table. It is quite overpriced, i am not sure how touristy this place is but what I saw was that it was mixed with local and tourists. You should try their profiterole it is extremely delicious.

Our hotel(W) recommended coming here for seafood. It’s within walking distance of the W(1.1km…around 10 min walk). It’s by the sea with an oceanview and multi-levels. We had the seafood croquettes to start which were good but most of the seafood filling was just a seafood paste rather than real chunks of seafood. We had the grilled salmon with sea salt and that was cooked perfectly. I had the octopus Galacian style and it was very soft. Portion sizes are good — just right. For dessert, I had the Catalan custard with coconut ice cream. When we asked for just one dessert to share between the two of us, they split the dessert portion into two dishes which made it easy for us to eat and each half portion was seemingly a full portion on its own. They have English menus and the manager and some staff know English. The bill was around 57 euros(we only had one bottle of water, no alcohol).

I asked twice if they serve the Paella in the little black pan and they said yes. Yes I had this obsession about the pan but that’s just my little request/wish for my birthday trip, I was so excited to see paella in the pan on my table. But then I guess it was the first day working of this young man and he didn’t speak fluent English which is fine, I asked him once, and confirmed to another senior staff one more time about my request. However when he served the Paella he just quickly showed me then turn around and pour it onto the plates, I didn’t even have time to take picture… They probably saw the disappointment on my face and after a while they re-presented someone else’s new pan of paella for me to take pic before serving. The recovery action was polite and nice but tbn my appetite was pretty much gone already. I guess their paella was ok.

Found this place on Unilocal and was excited to try it since I’ve had good luck with Unilocal in Barcelona so far. I was looking for the best place for paella and this restaurant came up. This restaurant is rated as a three euro sign. So for that price tag I’m expecting good service and good food. However Unilocal steered us wrong this time.(We should’ve known considering this is a big restaurant on a Main Street with menus in different languages = tourist trap.) A restaurant of this size should have a lot more reviews. And now that I look at their photos(the professional ones with the white background) I’m sure the restaurant uploaded them along with their fake reviews. There’s no way this place deserves 4.5 stars or even 3 for that matter. The food was bland and flavorless. To make up for the lack of flavor they added a lot of salt. We had the calamari, paella and the black ink cuttlefish. The calamari was cooked in a tempura batter and there was no flavor to it whatsoever. The only sauce they had for the calamari was mayonnaise. I asked for marinara sauce and or cocktail sauce and the waiter said no. Um, ok. The paella and black ink cuttlefish came out. The server asked us if we we’re going to be sharing our dishes which we were. I saw him from afar On a different table giving us half of each meal on our plate. I was disappointed because I like to take pictures of the food(especially when I think it’s going to be tasty) and part of the joys of eating is admiring the presentation of the food. In this case there was none. Also as other reviewer’s have mentioned the service here is horrendous. They don’t come to check on you, you have to wave them down in order to get something and they are not attentive at all. Our waiter was not good at all. It seemed as if they were rushing us so they can move on to their next customer. My best advice is to steer clear of this place especially for the money that you will be paying. I highly recommend going to this cheaper place that is 10x better and will be worth every penny you spend there — Arcano!

We visited Restaurante Barceloneta as a party of five on a Saturday night around 7:30pm(with a reservation we made same day), in search of what we were told was some of the best paella in Barcelona. We were not disappointed, and left having experienced a fantastic all around meal! We were quickly seated and sat upstairs in a beautiful area with a great view overlooking the water/bay. The service was excellent… attentive, friendly, suggesting dishes we might like and extremely professional. Their mojitos are outstanding! We greatly enjoyed their clams and garlic as an appetizer(great broth), and then we shared three of their paellas(seafood, meat/vegetable and black rice). All of the paella dishes were excellent(even my kids loved and devoured them)…but our favorite was the black squid ink with cuttlefish… just awesome! In particular, the service and paella were amazing. Great experience and we would strongly recommend!
