Bar del Pi

Leckere Tapas im Barri Gòtic, im Herzen Barcelonas. Hier sitzt man gemütlich und kann es sich entspannt schmecken lassen. Hier gehen auch die Spanier hin.

Good place to go if you like terrible service and getting scammed. Like most reviewers, I arrived here with my partner and waited for 15 minutes without service (the waiter ignored us when we signaled while serving other tables). We got up to leave, and three wait staff members — suddenly attentive — ran after us and physically grabbed up both, trying to make us pay for the empty sangria left behind on our table by the last guests. No matter that there were two of us and four empty glasses of sangria, that the previous inhabitants of the table had paid in our vision while we were waiting, or that there are so few tables it’s hard to believe they didn’t remember who was here before. Fortunately the other guests spoke up and let them know what was what, and they eventually, after some argument, released us. Avoid at all costs.

Not helpful on a Sunday night, everyone waited for service and then left. I moved on to the Bagauda. Much better.

Had lunch here in the middle of a busy day in Barcelona. Great selection of tapas and sandwiches. Decently priced. Very busy! Had to sit inside unfortunately because the patio was packed.

Went here for a late lunch with the wife (around 5 PM) when most other places are closed. That’s all I’d recommend this place for… when you are in a bind and having trouble finding a place to eat.
The food was nothing special… so much so that we struggled to even finish it all.

Some reviewers haven’t liked this place, though when my friend and I were wandering around the Piazza del Pi and couldn’t find the restaurant we were looking for, I must say I was as apprehensive as anyone to just sit on the plaza and hope for good food. Friend-​yelpers know that I leave little to chance when planning: I want the best food in the city I’m in, between what other Unilocalers think, and personal recommendations from others who have visited.
That all said, sitting at the Bar del Pi meant I was taking a risk, and it was not unrewarded. For breakfast, we sat in the sun and watched the artists set up while enjoying croissants, cheesecake (it had raspberries, so it counts as breakfast food!), tea, coffee and fresh orange juice. It was a delicious, light, rich offering, and despite the weird look I got for ordering cheesecake, our server was friendly and spoke excellent English.
The only downside of the experience was the man next to us smoking a cigarillo and making the air generally unpleasant for everyone. But, that’s Barcelona for you, definitely not just the Piazza del Pi. Other than that, it was a great morning option.

Perhaps they’re good for their tapas, but their breakfast was way overpriced and only mediocre.

2 words: Hot Chocolate.
Truth be told, you can throw a rock in this town and get the most amazing hot chocolate, but since that’s all I had there, this place gets the review.
We need this stuff in the rest of the world, thick, syrupy, more like chocolate soup than anything else.
If anyone ever offers me «Swiss Miss» again, I’m going to slap them.
Oh, yeah, and the place had comfy chairs and an excellent view. A good place to spend a afternoon.

I must have stopped by here 4 or 5 times when I was in Barcelona. It was literally 5 minutes from my hotel so it was quite convenient to pop in for some pinchos and drinks from time to time. Pinchos are easily one of the greatest food inventions in history. Imagine 20 kinds of apps and mini sanwiches propped up by toothpicks that are ready to eat on the counter. It’s glorious! Take what you want, and pay by the number of toothpicks you have left over. It’s also very casual, so you can take your time and enjoy the vibe if you want to relax after a day of traveling. Sweet deal.

Es mi bar preferido para tomarme una copa con amigos en verano sobre las 7 cuando baja la temperatura. La plazuela es muy gradable, y mas tarde las tapas son bonisimas !!!
Lo aconsejo para todos los que quieren una isla en el centro… un poco de arboles, sombra y todo esta bien!

El Bar del Pi es un clásico del Barrio Gótico.
Es punto de encuentro de diferentes generaciones de barceloneses puesto que su ambiente, entre bohemio y casero, lo convierte en el lugar ideal por una buena charla, para sentar a leer el diario con tranquilidad o para disfrutar del ambiente.
Las paredes del Bar del Pino, que recogen los muchos años de historia del local, están llenas de pinturas, dibujos y carteles originales de artistas… El ambiente artístico se convierte en una fiesta cuando algún músico espontáneo suyo un rato al banquillo del pequeño piano que tienen a la parte del fondo del local.
Almuerzos, tapas, bocadillos, pasteles y otros dulces llenan su carta… a todas horas puedes comer en este bar.
Su terraza, abierta todo el año, es una de las mas deseadas del Gótico.

Die Bar del Pi ist eher ein nettes, kleines Café mit einem kleinen Stockwerck eingezogen im hinteren Bereich. Unbedingt sollte man hier einen «Swiss» bestellen. Das ist die lokale heisse Schokolade. Lecker!
Es geht recht beengt zu, das stoert aber gar nicht. Das Lokal ist sehr gut besucht von Jung und Alt. Im Sommer kann man auch draussen sitzen. Es ist ein tolles kleines Café mit viel Atmosphaere (und auch auf der ganzen Welt bekannt).

En una de las plazas más bonitas de Barcelona encontramos el Bar del Pi. Personalmente soy muy aficionado a tomar café y repostería en compañía agradable y las tardes de invierno, cuando paso cerca de ahí, tengo que intentar arrastrar a todo el mundo que viene conmigo. Os recomiendo las infusiones que preparan, especialmente la de Roiboos. La verdad es que no es un bar solo para las tardes de invierno, con la llegada del calor, montan una terraza muy interesante y la carta de bebidas y tapas se amplía ahí fuera. Un vermouth o una copita de vino con una tapa de queso. Cosas tradicionales que siempre apetecen, a mí por lo menos.

El Bar del Pi tiene algo digno de una profunda investigación científica porque al verlo por fuera parece el típico bar de centro de cualquier ciudad, como hay millones en el mundo… pero al entrar, es como si te envolviera una extraña vibra nostálgica difícil de explicar y aún cuando está decorada con cuadros y fotografías que vale la pena quedarse viendo durante largos ratos, sigue pareciendo un bar típico, pero la cosa es que el Bar del Pi forma parte de uno de los lugares más mágicos de toda Barcelona, la Plaza del Pi, con sus músicos callejeros, los turistas admirando la catedral, los viejos amigos que llevan quién sabe cuántas décadas hablando día tras día en el mismo lugar sobre probablemente las mismas cosas y sus temporales mercados artesanales o de pintores.
Ah, la comida es muy buena… pero creo que eso es lo que menos importa y lo que menos recordaremos de este lugar.

Pienso en el Bar de Pi y suspiro… ¡Ay! ¿Motivo? ¡Nostalgia! ¡Pura y dura nostalgia! Empecé a frecuentar este bar en mi tierna adolescencia. Me gustaba fumarme mis primeros pitillos acompañada de un libro mientras tomaba un buen café. No sé si por verdadero placer o por hacerme la bohemia. Lo admito. El caso es que, aunque ruidoso y bullicioso, el Bar del Pi es un bar mágico. De estilo modernista, las paredes muestran carteles, fotos, pinturas y dibujos originales de artistas como Mascardó, Serrat, Romero, Ocaña, Mariscal, Alberti y otros, es el sitio ideal para tomarse un café y un croissan o una caña y una tapa –depende de lo que se madrugue– después de haberse empapado del arte que cada fin de semana exponen los artistas que ocupan la plaza Sant Josep Oriol.
Actualmente tengo la suerte de vivir enfrente y, sí, es mi bar matutino. Recomiendo especialmente los montaditos, las croquetas caseras, las bravas y las ensaladillas. Pero aunque todo está delicioso, cuando voy al Bar del Pi voy por algo más. Porque si algo describe este bar es esto: que no sabes qué es pero tiene algo más.

un petit bar à tapas authentique qui fait du bien surtout en comparaison des pièges à touristes qui pullulent à Barcelone! ambiance décontractée mélange réussi entre touristes avertis et locaux. L’accueil est très sympa et les prix aussi. le choix de tapas est assez restreint mais c’est vraiment très bon.
