El restaurante que regenta uno de los concursantes de un reality de cocina es bastante acogedor y de trato correcto. La comida esta muy elaborada con una gran fusión de sabores y platos sorprendentes. Para apreciar los platos lo mejor es decantarse por el menú degustacion que es bastante completo. Eso si, si sois de buen yantar igual OS quedais con un pelin de hambre porque las raciones son cortitas… aun así es un sitio por el que merece la pena pasar.

You may visit Avila because of their famous wall, and it is certainly worth the trip for that. However this restaurant is a real jewel outside of the wall. The five course menu degustacion included some of the most innovative dishes we’ve enjoyed in years. Chef Ivan Hernandez has brought his experience from Can Roca back to his hometown of Avila and he’s having fun with the menu. This is not your traditional Spanish regional fare, yet there is great attention to staying local and seasonal. I actually enjoyed waiting to see what surprise the next course would bring. Todays selections included sheep cheeks, a superb truffled mushroom rice dish and his«watermelon that wants to be a tuna» creation. And then the desserts! Several«amusé bouche» experiences along the way, some served personally by Chef. And the best part — he changes the every month. No boredom allowed! I must also mention our waiter. He was intimately acquainted with all dishes and their preparation, supplying a lively commentary for every dish. He was clearly invested in making sure we had a remarkable experience. The location is convenient, parking easy breezy and the décor comfortable and contemporary(make sure you check out the bathroom sink!) If you’re looking for a well priced fine dining experience this is the place.

Wow. Just wow. This food is soooo good and demonstrates the chef’s thoughtful effort and creativity. We had a five course menu– which included a few bonus plates of various amous bouches. The menu is reinvented monthly based on the variety and seasons. It is more gastronomy than the«comida casera»(home cooking — more typical in the touristic center.). Think outside the wall, friends — so worth it. Pros– innovative food, Chef served us several plates personally, super wait staff, easy free parking nearby. Did I mention that the prices /value are very reasonable? We had a 5 course for 35 eur. Cons– none? Can book out. So nab a reservation.
