I have been to this restaurant several times. I am a customer with first hand experience and come every time I’m in Copenhagen. The food has always been great, however, last Thursday they decided not to open at regular hours with no warning. The Facebook page only said they were closed because of «too many mistakes», whatever that means. The mistake is not taking care of your loyal customers who travel INTERNATIONALLY to patron your restaurant. Unbelievable.

Went to NB for a late breakfast on a sunny sunday. I knew we could sit outside. We took a simple breakfast, sandwiches with ham and cheese: 25dk and the bread,(that you must try) with an egg and butter: 25dk I know they are famous for their bread, but the brunch, we must try. Pastries, meat, jam. Big plates for 2. Many could not finish. Service very casual, the guys are simpler and represent well the neibourhood. Chilling outside in the sun having a bite. I will go back

As soon as I walked in and saw the bare walls and rustic stone fire I knew I would like the place. I ordered the cinnamon roll. I later came back and got the poppy seeded vanilla cream stuffed pastry. I got a filter coffee and got myself cosy on one of the pine wood tables. Locals and expats seemed to be all opting for the morning bread and pastry selection, which came with butter, jam and a soft-boiled egg. My coffee was so-so. No soya milk on offer. My first pastry(the cinnamon one) actually tasted stale, which was a great disappointment, but the second one was delicious. I stayed for a while, read(no wifi), and finally attempted to pay. The guy who was serving said they couldn’t take my card as their reader currently wasn’t taking international cards, but said it didn’t matter so I didn’t have to pay. This brightened up my experience, so the next morning I came by with some cash to hand and bought some pastries to takeaway. 2 large cinnamon buns, a mini pain au chocolat and a nutella stuffed pastry. All of these items were quite bready, but delicious. I especially liked the massive cinnamon buns. To get four stars: wifi and better coffee(with soya milk as an option), though I like the trusting staff, the minimalist décor and the very honest prices considering Danish prices. I would come back to sample the breakfast basket with some friends.

Great bread and sweets. They take a very simplistic and minimalistic approach, which makes it interesting. Good place for brunch and afternoon coffee.

At first glance this place may seem like a regular bakery, and well it is but they also hide a secret. Every night the local chef makes a different dish, there is no menu, there is no choice you just come over and for about 80 kr you get a delicious take. away or eat-in meal. The ambience is pretty cool, candle lights, hipster people and a nice enjoyable silence. The food was great, something like a casserole, but I can’t be 100% sure because it was a little too dark for the to say exactly what was in it. Service was really kind, she let me eat-in peacefully and charge my phone while I had dinner. Best perk is you can get as much free bread as you want, since they will throw it away in the end of the day. I would certainly come back to have breakfast, brunch or another lovely dinner here anytime.

Definitely agree with the other reviews, this was a cozy little rustic café that’s quite minimalistic. Not the best place to chill for a long time, but a neat spot to grab a quick meal and drink. I would have given three stars for the coffee and service. The Americano I got was very very average and the service was slow with one man working as a cashier and server. I gave four, however, because the guy was extremely nice about my not being able to pay(didn’t have cash x_x) and also the food looked quite good. I’m going to go back someday, pay for my drink, and try the salmon sandwich which looked delicious and hearty for only 75 kroner! PS. No Wi-Fi

One of the best breakfast places in Copenhagen. Definitely one of my top three places. Why? Because their breakfast(and everything else as well) shows so well that less is more. When you order their breakfast your get different types of newly baked bread, sweet buns, cakes, coffee, apple juice, cheese, jam, ham and an egg. For like no money! It’s probably the most price worthy breakfast in Copenhagen. You can either sit inside, or at the benches and tables outside. There are not that many seats inside, but usually they have a small table or some seats left. I come here during the evenings as well — they usually have one dish for around 90 dkk. There are only one reason that they don’t get 5 stars — and that is that it’s sometimes sold out. But please, don’t stop from going there, because of that. Just don’t go to late during the day.

Gosh, can you fall in love with an Apple Pie? — In fact, I think it was love at first bite! I visited the Nordisk Brødhus on my most recent visit to Copenhagen. My colleague suggested to meet up here for breakfast and I can really recommend that: we opted for a sample platter where you get various bit of bread, buns, jams… and of course… the already-mentioned Apple Tarte. AMAZING! The Nordisk Brødhus is quite rustic/minimalistic in its interior design — to be fair, it wasn’t the most coziest of places to hang out for a longer period of time. But the food and the rye bread I took home, totally made up for this.(Oh yeah, while we’re at it: the service was also rather excrutiatingly slow… but again I loved the food so much that I really disregarded all of it!) I can totally recommend grabbing a quick breakfast here, buying a bread for your home-made Smørrebrød or simply pledging your love to the miniature-apple tarts! So good! PS: They don’t take foreign credit or debit cards — only Danish ones. So bring some cash!

Great bakery/café/restaurant it started as bakery, then they added coffee, and latest they serve dinner. Basic and simple food made in their stoneoven, but it is good food.
