Incredibly delightful! No trip to Copenhagen would be complete without a stop at one of the many Meyers Bageris. I’d been dying to eat a real ‘Danish’ in Denmark so I was very excited about the spandauer med crème and it did not disappoint– a soft, flaky pastry filled with a vanilla bean custard, it was absolutely to die for. I also decided it was my duty to try the kanelsnurre(as it’s what they’re known for!), so I dug into the huge and amazing knot of cinnamon and sugar and mere seconds later was licking up the crumbs in delight. The caramelized parts on the bottom were so buttery and delicious, I still can’t stop dreaming about them. Now I just need to convince Meyers to open a London branch!

One of the best bakeries in Copenhagen, and bread to rival(or surpass) any other in the world(my companion lived in Italy, and I lived in France, so we have some experience with great bread). Neither of us tried the pastries(mores the pity, but they looked amazing). We both ate fresh bread(dark, with lots of seeds, nuts and magic), with a slice or two of cheese from their deli case. These folks know what their doing(and so does the rest of Copenhagen, judging by the long lines out the door on a Sunday morning).

I will always come here for their ginormous Kanelsnurre. I randomly selected the pastry the first time and have been back every time just to get that. I love the fresh sweet aroma of baked goods as I enter the bakery! Staff is really friendly as well(as usual just like every other bakery in Copenhagen)!

Best bakery in town. From Osterbro to Frederiksberg — I make the detour for this place! Special of the day available(on bread, scone, or pizza) every day.
