What’s not to like about Berlin Bar? The weissbier is a-flowin’ and the crowd is a-glowin’(during football matches, at least)! You basically go here for German beer. And if you’re German or a big fan of the culture, you might also go for football matches or the general«deutsche» atmosphere. Nothing wrong with that, though I would visit the bar mostly for the beer. And there is so much of it in Berlin Bar! All sorts of the gorgeous liquid can be had, but you have to have some decent knowledge of German/beer to be able to understand the menu. Or just ask for help from the super friendly staff. I once visited Berlin Bar after Germany had won a world cup match. One could say the atmosphere was euphoric. Which I didn’t mind, even though football is not a big passion of mine. Football or no football, Berlin Bar is always a good place to quench that thirst for decent beer!

This place is sort of a hidden gem. Not super impressive from the outside… it actually looked a bit«divey» and underwhelming. Inside it is a little cramped and there few tables that will fit large groups(toward the back). The décor is really cool and the vibe is pretty cozy. We(a group of 6 wine & beer making students) went to Berlin Bar after class and all ordered different beers. The variety of tap beers was pretty good and the variety of bottled beers was extremely impressive(biggest selection I have yet to encounter) Each beer that we ordered was significantly unique and we had a lot of fun trying each others’ choices. Bathrooms were clean. Not too smokey, although I believe you can smoke inside. It was pretty empty when we went at 18:00 but filled up around 23:00, which for a tuesday night is pretty impressive. I think they offer snacks based on what I saw on other tables but I will have to return in order to confirm. Conclusion: If I were to go out in Frederiksberg for a beer, I would definitely come here first :) Tip: Get the øl card, Buy 9 beers = 10th one is free.

Try not to love Berlin Bar. The 4 page beer menu with prices and alcohol content. I challenge you!

Berlin Bar is one of my favorite spots in Copenhagen. Situated anything but close to other bars of the same type, Berlin Bar is a great spot in which to meet up with friends and enjoy a German beer or two. Unlike other German beer bars in Denmark, Berlin Bar does not try to recreate the ‘Oktoberfest’ atmosphere and blatantly avoids any type of German schlager(folk) music. Rather, it is laid-back and invites you to stay for a while while you drink your favorite German brew. The beer menu is quite elaborate, and Berlin Bar frequently change their selections(at least to my knowledge). You can get great tap or bottled beer there, and the bartenders(always girls, at least when I’ve been there) thankfully seem to know a lot about the types of beer they’re selling, which again makes the place more open to you. If you watch the German Bundesliga, they show their games on weekends, so unlike the English-Irish pubs, you have a place to go if you’re more into Bayern München or Dortmund than Manchester United or Chelsea. What doesn’t give Berlin Bar a full plate is the fact that the prices are quite steep and the fact that the place easily gets overcrowded. Though, of course, one could argue that a place that gets overcrowded is a popular place and only adds to its value.

Limited — but well chosen — selection of beers on tap. But a stunningly large choice of bottled German beer. —_almost 150! Friendly knowledgeable bartenders. Buy 10, get one free card on tap beers. Also large whiskey selection. One minus: like so many places in DK, wheelchair access is poor — step up from street, WC one floor down, no elevator.

The Berlin Bar is a great place. It has a tremendous range of draft and bottled beers. I would personally recommend the Flensburger Pilsener or the Berliner Kindl but there are plenty of others to try. The staff are invariably helpful and friendly. The bar can get a bit overcrowded when there’s a football match on but you can usually find a table(or at least part of a table). And — yes — it’s smoke free(please don’t ever even think about changing that) PS There is an excellent Asian takeaway(Bindia) just a few doors down the road.

This little German hide away on the cusp of Fred Berg is what I would like to call the old stomping grounds. Back in the day I went to school at a nearby University and happened to have many classmates from around the globe along with a bunch of Danes. For some reason we always ended up at the Berlin Bar and for that reason I have good and bad feelings about this particular establishment. They have a fantastic assortment of beer, mostly German but also from all over the world, both in the bottle and a great rotating tap. The service is usually pretty good but eat before you come because lots of strong beer and a few peanuts does not usually mix well. The one thing I remember very well is that they always play Karius og Baktus, the little trolls that live in your mouth from our child hood, on repeat in the bathroom. It is the thing that sticks most in my head and adds an extra star. It also takes away some of the bad memory of hanging out with my former student colleagues. No, they were not that bad at all but sometimes…
