It was so
special and exciting that it is difficult to find the right start to describe this
experience. We’ve been
invited by Danish business partners and strictly speaking everybody is invited
by the chefs. The restaurant is situated in an apartment on the first floor
(thus the name) and there is no sign on the outside indicating that the
somewhat shabby building accommodates such a gem. The restaurant seats up to 20
guests and you need to make reservation in advance. (As I understood, with your
reservation you are paying a fixed price which covers everything for 1350 DK /​approx.
EUR180 p.P.). Please communicate any limitation such as allergies when making
your reservation. At the
evening, dinner starts for all guests at 18:30. The kitchen is open and the
chefs are not only cooking but also at the same time serving the food. I’m
wondering how they managed to keep the kitchen so tidy They always explain
what is being served and with each course (in total 7 – 8 courses) goes a
different wine covering the whole range from white to red, heavy to light,
fruity sweet to sour dry. The food is high quality and surprises with unusual
combinations that are nicely arranged. After the
very special meal coffee and sweets are served in the library where you are
listening to music from an old record player! To sum it
up: special, authentic, comfortable, yummy EXCELLENT!
