We were visiting from the states for the weekend and only really had time for one nice meal Saturday night. Madbodega looked good — and absolutely delivered. The food was delicious, Danish, but more varied in style than most of our other meat filled menus. The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable and the service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Wonderful farm to table restaurant. We shared these snacks: grilled chickpeas marinated in spices, grilled flatbread with herbs & buttermilk drizzle and the most amazing and delicious scotch egg. This was followed by wild mushrooms w/sprouts, herbs and oat flakes and a chicken liver pâté w/bacon, pickles and brioche. So delicious. The entrees and dessert were also over the top! Don’t miss this place.

Vesterbro is chock-full of hip & delish food spots so my hopes were high when entering Mad Mad Mad Bodega. Upon arrival, the place has a very organic«hygge» feel to it adorned with candles and hand painted walls. The concept of this place is local, sustainable food with the menu changing monthly to move with natures seasons. The menu carries three items for snacks, starters, main course and dessert in addition to local brews and sustainable cocktails. We began with the chickpeas and fried shallots and grilled flatbread with herb butter. Both were simply prepared and simply delicious. A great treat to get our tastebuds going. For my main course I went with the«baked beans» on a shortbread crust. Probably the lamest option of the three main courses but I still enjoyed the hearty stew-like beans and flakey shortbread. We finished with the chocolate fondant lava cake and pickled plums and warm vanilla custard. We devoured these treats in seconds and i especially loved the warm custard the poured over the plums and crumbles. Aside from the artfully prepared and plated food, what really made this place stand out is their connection to the ingredients and dishes. For every dish served, our waitress(the co-owner) would explain the origin of the main ingredients which really gave us a greater appreciation for the food at hand and made the food that much more special. Eating food with purpose makes me question why these local and sustainable options aren’t more readily available. So glad I discovered this wonderful restaurant serving up top-notch local food in Copenhagen — I will most definitely be back. P. S. check their website for fun events like preserving parties and sustainable cocktail classes :)

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The food is incredibly fresh and tasty, the service is great and the story behind this establishment is that the owners met in business school and opened up in May. It’s definitely worth visiting. I highly recommend the cabbage and the cod. Wish I didn’t live 7,000 miles away ;-(

Disclaimer: This review is only for their cocktail drinks: Seriously, can you be more lazier when making cocktails? My two drinks(it was a happy hour kind of night, but still???) were just placed in short whisky glasses without garnish and I wasn’t even sure what kind of colour hue it was since it was kind of blended reddish mud of water. I couldn’t even point out a specific taste to it — just that they were all made with alcohol. Sorry, your food might be good, but do not come here for cocktails.

Newly opened in the slow end of Vesterbrogade, but definitely a place worthwhile visiting! We came by and had their 10 dish tasting menu — 10 creative and tasteful dishes. Small but really good wine selection and a really nice service. The restaurant has a nice laidback and informal interior. So if you are in for something organic, seasonal and local do check this one out — well not to many of you thou — as we are planning to come back more than once and naively think there will be table for us.

Great new place in Vesterbro! Their concept is seasonal, sustainable food, made with local ingredients. The restaurant is cosy and intimate with lots of little nooks and corners. The kitchen is open so you can see the chefs at work.
