Visiting from Canada and were very excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately one of our servers was the rudest server I have ever had. She very rudely accused my mother of ordering an additional item when it was her mistake for writing the order down incorrectly. Then the disaster of our bill — accusing us of ordering another additional dish and waiting 15 minutes for them to sort it out, and still splitting the bills incorrectly. The timing of the meal was poor and the food was mediocre at best. Really a huge disappointment and ruined our night. Thankfully all of the other restaurants in Copenhagen we’ve tried have had impeccable service and food.

This place was a pretty decent restaurant to go to, I really enjoyed the food as well as the service. It is a bit pricey but I think that its worth it. The oysters were amazing, and I loved all the neat dishes that we ordered. I would recommend double checking with your server what you are ordering, the menu can be a little unclear.

Fiskebar is a easy bet to eat upscale fresh fish and oysters in Copenhagen. Service is good(a little slow because it’s always busy). Drinks are great and the wine selection is a great accompaniment for the menu. I’ve been here twice and will definitely come back on my next visit to Copenhagen. It is upscale and will hurt the wallet a little bit, but not as bad as it could be for a Scandinavian dining experience.

Awesome fish in a very trendy location. We made a reservation in advance through their website. The cod and hake were both very fresh and both came in pretty healthy servings(think, American sized). We tried the jumbo local oysters and they were FANTASTIC. The mussels were also delicious. The food is quite expensive, so prepare yourself. But, it is a hip restaurant, and more importantly, it is delicious.

One of those trendy places where the atmosphere and the walls surrounding it are essential. It has a nice hipster/vintage/old school vibe to it in the former slaughter house of Vesterbro, which is exactly what a modern«Københavner» wants — just like a lot other places popping up the the city. The food is quite expensive compared to the size, but it’s of good quality and made of fresh ingredients. However the fish courses we had was a bit tasteless in my opinion — still good though and I’m a seafood lover! The most tasty dish was actually none of the seafood but the beef tenderloin lol

The mussels are great! Get the medium one as an starter and share with a friend. The wine menu is very ex t/p ensive. The service was great and friendly. Do book in advance! A colleague was disappointed with the vegetarian dish. Then again, if you go to a fish restaurant and order the vegetarian option, you kinda deserve it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Kødbyen og København. Delicious fish and seafood, good service and in the summer time outdoor tables in the evening sun.

I made a booking here for me and my cousin during our trip to Copenhagen. You can book online, which is great, although somehow my booking got lost in the system and they didn’t actually have our table saved. This turned out to be no issue, and they told us not to worry and quickly found us a table(I had the email confirmation on my phone, which I think helped!) The food was pretty good– we both had the white asparagus starter, which was really yummy, and I had the scallops and my cousin had the hake, both of which we enjoyed. We shared a buttermilk(I think) tart with rhubarb ice cream for dessert which was amazing, definitely the best part of the meal. Nothing was too sweet, and the ice cream was unreal. We had a really great evening here, and the staff was so kind and super attentive! Even though they were super busy all the waiters kept talking to us, giving us recommendations for schnapps to try after our meal and stuff to do in the city. It was a bit expensive, but I’d definitely come back! Also the meatpacking area in general is really cool, and easy to grab a drink after dinner without having to go too far.

My initial impression: I was a little disappointed by Copenhagen’s «up and coming» hip meat packing district. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t crowded at all. I didn’t see any of the cool art galleries that I read about online and everything was sort of all scattered in the plaza. The restaurant itself, however, is cool af. The service was straight forward and everyone was friendly. I had made the reservation online so I wasn’t sure that it had gone through but they had our reservation noted which was a plus. We tried two medium plates and one main plate. Had the fish and chips, oysters and mussels. We weren’t too hungry and that was definitely a good amount of food for us. I also tried one of the tool local beers. Everything was delightful! The mussels were fresh and fish and chips were amazing, I think better than what I had in London. Oysters were not the best I’ve had, but also not bad. Could have been more fresh but I liked the vinegar sauce it came with. Crowd was diverse. I wish I had enough for dessert but I didn’t… boo! Definitely would recommend this to any seafood lover visiting Copenhagen!

Jamie and his team are masters of their craft. everything was delicious. the overall focus is kept squarely on the ingredients, which are always fresh and mainly local(OMG, the oysters!). unlike some other dining experiences we had in Copenhagen, none of the dishes we were served at KF were precious or pretentiously presented. just great food, simply and masterfully prepared. the waitstaff are excellent and really know their stuff. also, the desserts were amazing, and the cocktails were inventive and were definitely on par with some of the best I’ve tried here in San Francisco or in NYC, two majorly mixology-centric bar towns. Jamie has created a real sense of community in his kitchen and restaurant, and it really comes across in the food. he also loves showing off his kitchen, so don’t miss out on that when you go.

We went on a Friday night for dinner — without any reservations. Gutsy, I know. Luckily, there were seats along the bar, where we could have food. So, we took the chance. We ordered three medium dishes — the squid, the king crab and the fish and chips. All three dishes were great — I really enjoyed the squid and the king crab in particular. We also had Carlsberg and other Danish beer, and really enjoyed everything. A well-balanced seafood dinner experience overall. Service was good, though less personal, perhaps because we were sat at the bar. Nonetheless, the bartenders were easily reachable and nice. Ambience was good, though slightly on the noisy side — not your typical quiet, posh restaurant. But it had a certain lively spirit to it, which I really enjoyed. Overall, we couldn’t have chosen a better place for our first dinner in Copenhagen.

This restaurant is amazing. The place looks fabulous. The food is delicious. The cocktails are awesome. The service is fantastic. Try the plate with the 3 deserts: Apple pie, Chocolate cake and Butternut ice cream. It’s one of the best one I had. Good selection of wines, very fresh fish(as the name hints, this is a seafood/fish restaurant). A definite bookmark if you go to Copenhagen.

Fantastiske! Modern and upbeat vibe! Beautiful presentation, extremely fresh and intricate tastes of dishes ordered! Danish Oyster, huge and juicy; Mussels, the broth is ideal for dipping their sour-bread into; Scallops, perfect when paired with their foam, mushroom, & green puréed sauce; Octopus, wowed along with the beets & Swedish moss; and, the Cabbage, elevated with the pickled onions! Too full for dessert! Will definitely return when in Copenhagen next! TAKFISKEBAREN!

My friends and I were craving a Danish seafood resturant and found this resturant on Unilocal. The blue mussels we had as an appetizer really good. And I was craving fish and chips but was reluctant. It was really good because it was light and crispy but not a thick batter. Recommend! The ambiance and atmosphere is really laid back but nice also for night out weekend dinner. I was happily surprised.

One of the best meals I had in Copenhagen and I don’t even like fish that much. My favorites out of the meal that I shared — the plaice and mullet. The fish and chips were ok — pretty standard like any other that I’ve had. Also got the bigger course blue mussels, which was a very big portion — could barely finish between the 3 of us. For dessert, we got the dessert tasting with 3 ice creams. I don’t like licorice but the licorice flavor ice cream was my favorite! This place was changing my taste preferences all anew. Service was wonderful — they were really nice to accommodate my request for my friend’s birthday that day! Loved this place.

My boyfriend and I came here because we were really craving some seafood on our trip to Copenhagen. The restaurant was a bit hard to find(and we are also extremely bad at navigating) but once we got there, we didn’t want to leave. We were seated very quickly(as we had a reservation), and the interior is very stylish and modern. In the middle is a bar where you can enjoy pre– or post-dinner drinks, and surrounding it are the tables where people order from a full menu. Since we decided to go all out, we got six oysters(one of each offering) per person, north atlantic scallops, and a fish dish(its name evades me, sorry! – look to the photos). For dessert, we finished with some vanilla ice cream alongside a mousse. My boyfriend claims it was one of the best meals we have had together, and every time we eat oysters now, he is disappointed and pouty. What a princess. Even though the price is a bit steep, every bite is worth it. You can really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients, something very important when it comes to seafood, which if prepared poorly can be very hard to swallow. At the end of our dinner, the hostess even offered to call a taxi service for us… sorry! Our wallets were totally empty by the end… we’ll just take the bus back and be on our way lol.

Kødbyens Fiskebar is in the very trendy up-and-coming Vesterbro meat-packing district, and practically all of Copenhagen’s hippest people were relaxing in the restaurant’s parking lot«terrace» with beach chairs, small tables and firepits. Although it is fresh seafood all the way, there is a huge cow remaining on the roof in homage to the building’s earlier life as a butcher plant. We placed a dinner reservation via their website but never got a confirmation. We took a chance and found the reservation wasn’t completed but were able to be immediately seated around the fish tank which was actually for fun than a table anyway. Large, noisy, youthful and informal, I felt like I was back in Brooklyn. Service was great. Our friendly waitress explained the process, the menu and specials. The meal was paced well, and servers were always there when needed. The spéciales Gillardeau oysters from Marennes, France were very fresh, plump, fleshy and gone within 3 minutes. This trip I discovered the Gillerdeau family oysters, and they are now one of my favorites! The special of the day, Hake with vegetables and green baby potatoes was simply awesome in both plating, design and taste! It was pan seared, perfectly moist, and served simply but beautifully(see my photos). I could get used to the new Nordic foodie movement! Peter D said the mussels entrée was also excellent. There were a lot of mussels for one person. We ordered coffee just so we could try the Maija & Søren petit fours. Great recommendation by our waitress! This was probably our favorite restaurant on this trip to Copenhagen. Their website simply boasts: «We have been delivering bib-gourmand standards for five years year in a row, and we are more than proud of what is on the plates in front of our guests.» You better believe it!

Memorable to the nth. It’s crowded, loud, bustling and busy, but the food, simple, evolved… Zen. I can ignore a loud resto like Fiskebaren because the food is top notch. I focused on the mains because the appetizers looked less than substantial. There is not one thing that tasted poorly here even the pommes frites looking corny wrapped in newspaper(had to empty the fries out after the photo), were utterly flavorful, I ate every last one. But first had to dunk them in the most delicious apple cider/wine herbs broth the mussels bathed in. Vibe was casual, happy wait staff, no pretense, just beautifully made food, simple and if there were a flavor put on a plate it came deliciously orchestrated as though the chefs tried every possible permutation while on some inspired moment to deliver a plate, lusciously unforgettable. One less star newspaper wrapped fries, it’s common in Europe to bet your fries wrapped in newspaper, it’s not hygienic to me, rather would have a paper bag. Dishes while clean needed to be once-overed for water spots. Sounds picky, not really. This is a Michelin resto and standards apply. Finally found a Michelin restaurant I feel comfortable in – they’re usually haughty and pretentious. It’s so fun here, like you were invited to savor, enjoy and celebrate! Food here is 2die4. Coming back. Visits: 2 Tip: Show up after 9pm weekdays if you don’t have a reservation. Weekends must have a reservation.

Fantastic service, absolutely delicious food, and great relaxed atmosphere. Nothing but high marks from me. My time at Fiskebaren started when my party and I arrived around 15 minutes early for our reservation on a late Friday evening. We overheard those ahead of us in line being told that the wait time was around 1.5 hours for a table. Fortunately for us and despite being early, we were seated right away. Our waitress was patient, kind, and answered all of the questions that our party had in regards to the menu. We couldn’t decide on which oysters to get and she gave a great description of her personal favorites. The menu isn’t extensive(which we expected from a place like this) but I would say still covers most tastes. My party got the Ireland Oysters, Fish n ‘Chips, Mussels, King Crab, and Hake. We loved every single bite of our meals. The oysters were clean and fresh. The fish n ‘chips were smokey, perfectly crispy, and packed a ton of flavor. I’ve had mussels prepared in many different ways before and the mussels at Fiskebaren has been by far my favorite. They were super fresh, clean, not rubbery, and the broth was deliciously coconuty. Lastly, the hake was the biggest surprise. I’ve never had that specific fish before but this was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fish was light yet so flavorful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and leans towards the young hip crowd but without the pretension. My in-laws absolutely loved dining here and was one of the highlights of their visit to DK. If you want top quality food but don’t want to deplete your savings(although, Fiskebaren definitely isn’t cheap!) go to Fiskebaren. Just be sure to make a reservation.

Rumor has it that this place was Noma staff recommended… it was the most expensive and most disappointing meal I had during our time in Copenhagen. We had made a reservation with them weeks in advance and they were very accommodating when we arrived early. It’s a nice intimate place that was kind of hard to find because of it’s location within an enclave. Service was good though throughout the night. There was a limited number of options on the menu. My friends and I ordered the king crab appetizer and that was pretty good, good flavor and texture. We also ordered the mussels, cod and hake. Probably out of the three, the cod was the favorite as it was cooked perfectly. The hake was good as well, but a bit on the dry side. I loved the barley though, the flavor was different. The mussels were so fresh that there was a lot of sand and there was a strong ocean flavor? Overall, just an ok meal.

Klare Empfehlung!

Extraordinaire nouvelle cuisine nordique.
