This was my first time attending a byens bedste(cities best) event, which I was super excited about! I had been wanting to go to one for a while but was never able to make it. This event included not only Unilocalers, as the normal byens bedste events do, but also included business owners, journalist, bloggers and instagrammers which I thought was a really exciting addition. Going into this event I didn’t think it would be that difficult to choose between the 5 different croissants, but boy was I wrong. I didn’t know where any of the croissants were from, except from 7⁄11 as it had already been given a favorite among many beforehand. So, was 7⁄11 really the best croissant in Copenhagen as so many people thought, or did another place deserve that title? Before mentioning my favorite, I have to just mention what an amazing job both Rebecca and Camilla did on this event! Everything was carefully thought out, and I loved the look of the tables when you walked in seeing all the croissants out on the table. It was also really nice being greeted by the both of them with big smiles and hugs, and they both did a fantastic job at their speeches! :) Now, the croissants. We were given a sheet of paper to nominate our favorite’s depending on different categories. They were all very different when you just looked at them, as some were more golden brown and crunchy looking and others were smaller and not as golden. It was hard to choose between a few of them, but it was fun getting to try croissants from 5 different places all at once. My personal favorite was from Brioche Doree. I loved how soft and airy the croissant was, and it tasted so so good! My second favorite was from Meyers, which was also really good! Our votes were all calculated together, and this was our favorite’s: 1: Meyers(Store Kongensgade) 2: Brioche Dorée(torvehallerne) 3: Democratic Coffee 4: Brødflov 5: 7⁄11 As you can see, Meyers won first place and the earlier fan favorite of 7⁄11 won last place. I do have to agree with Sune’s review that the 7⁄11 croissant didn’t taste like it normally does. I felt like it tasted more dry than normal, which was unfortunate.
