What a place! Great food all around. Could not stop moaning. I had the shawarma plate with hummus, bread and salad and it completely filled me up. I can definitely recommend this dish. It was absolutely freezing inside but they were renovating so I’m not sure if this is the reason or if it’s always like this. 15% student discount available. No wifi but might not be so strange since I bet a lot of people buy takeout.

Finding a decent kitchen open after 10 pm in Copenhagen turned out to be quite an undertaking. Several kilometers of hungry wandering had me feeling like a ravaging zombie. Albeit a vegetarian one. I’m lucky I’ve married a guy who has a perfect food GPS system integrated into his brain. He remembered a cool place we passed by AGES ago and there we were headed. I’m a big fan of arabic food I thought I ordered some falafel, but I actually had sandwich #11(honest alcohol driven mistake, thank goodness it wasn’t meat) and I’m glad I did: a pita sandwich filled with a delicious combination of tender grilled aubergines, hummus and tabbouleh. So-darn-finger-licking good! We sat by a receded wall, with diverse cushions that looked very exotic in my inebriated state. Too bad the table and floor had crumbles and spilled sauce all over… Food was so good that I just HADTO repeat. Ideally, when sober. So a couple of days later we went in for lunch and ordered the same. Confirmed awesomness :) I do not remember how much we paid, but it was pretty cheap. Ahaaa(what does this name mean anyway) stays open basically the whole day, which is a big plus. On the down side… my favorite table was still dirty. Thus I’m forced to deduct one star of an otherwise perfect score *sigh.

You know you can always trust that the food’s gonna be great when the branding looks good. I noticed Ahaaa because of the name and how their signage, logo and wall graphics stood out from the rest of the shawarma joints. I got the number 3 which was a pita chicken shawarma, it was amazing. So many sauces and flavor and the bread was soft and thick. I usually prefer beef but the chicken shawarma turned out pretty good. Prices are pretty standard as well. They also open till 5 in the morning! Let’s go drunchies!

Perfect for a cheap and casual lunch/dinner. Perfect for a takeaway sandwich any time of the day — or night! I got myself a Falafel sandwich with fried brocoli, hummus, pickled turnip, chili. It works miracles for 29 kroners!
