hmmmmmm no male point of view so far? ok, let’s go! i would have loved to tell you about my very first date here but it was way too long ago and nothing very exciting happened, anyway.:( in fact, siloso beach itself, is way more exciting than that very first date ever was!;) this is the largest of the three bxxches, i mean beaches, on sentosa. for those who prefer more seclusion, head over to tanjong. for those with kids in tow, palawan is better for them. here, at siloso, it’s activities galore, day and night. even though you can indulge in beach volleyball at the new sports hub in kallang, here the sand is way softer and you are surrounded by nature and things nature made, for you to enjoy. even if you are not into playing some ball, just pick a shady or sunny spot, sit back, relax and let nature unfold before you, therapeutic. and so inspiring it can be, that it was here, i wrote my very first review on the mobile Unilocal app! best time for those seeking inner peace will be early in the morning. with only cleaners busy keeping the beach pristine and lifeguards getting ready for the day ahead. come sunset, the party scene begins! the rows of bars and clubs fronting the beach comes alive. this is party central, for sure! this was also the venue of Illumi Nation, asia’s 1st, probably not the last, massive glow in the dark party. the sheer size of siloso, makes it most suitable for handling such happening events. come december, it will once again be home to zouk out, which may or may not be the last, so just go! say what? you want me to shut up already and just tell you how to get there?! well, i recommend mega zipping down to siloso, as the only way, to make your grand entrance!:)

Siloso Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Singapore, on the offshore mini-island of Sentosa where both locals and tourists flock to for a bit of rest and relaxation. Having been there myself several times over the years, I find both good and bad points to this beach. It is infinitely cooler than Palawan Beach, which is skewed towards needs of families with young children. The sand at Siloso Beach is also a lot finer and softer to the touch than Sentosa’s other beaches as well, which makes it a popular spot for sun-tanning as well as playing beach sports like volleyball. Hot babes and hunks are not lacking, so if you’re a sun lover, definitely check this place out! But one gripe that I have is how there are too many creepy lurkers who visit the beaches just to ogle. They come fully dressed and sometimes even prepped with camera phones snapping away. Yes we do go in swimsuits to enjoy the sun, but it isn’t an invitation to a free-for-all photo shoot! I recommend walking as far away from the main entrance to the beach as you can, and cross the small bridge to another tiny beachy area to avoid unwelcome attention since it is situated farther away and with no benches or bushy areas that lurkers seem to love.

Wondering what is an inexpensive activity that you can do in Singapore on a weekend? Grab your friends, get a volleyball, and head down to Siloso beach! Yes, there you have it, beach volleyball! I would say that Siloso beach is one of the cleaner beaches around. Though artificial, don’t underestimate how good Singapore is at building man-made structures(take the recently opened Gardens by the Bay for an example). The beach can get pretty busy and crowded on the weekends, so you gotta come down early to get the court. It’s quite a fun leisure activity once you get the hang of it, and you can even make friends through the activity! Quite a perfect place to play beach volleyball. On good days, there’ll even be beach hunks and babes for you to watch! On the downside, if looking for a scenic beach or some tranquil, then this is definitely not the place to be.

Easy to get to once you are on Sentosa, buses and trams are provided from various pick up points to take you to the beach. I like how accessible it is and also how food and drink are easily obtainable around the area. There are free volleyball courts available on a first come first serve basis, but you do need to bring your own volleyball! The only downside is that the sand on the beach is a little coarse and rough, which makes minor injuries almost inevitable when playing volleyball — so be careful if you’re thinking about diving down into the sand to get that ball across the net! A big plus for me are the huge public showers — just metres from the beach they are really clean and well maintained, I was able to get ready to go out straight for dinner after the beach easy.
